I did nothing!…personal

It’s a Friday morning this way and it’s the weekend already in the Middle Eastern World.

I write this with a lot of appreciation. It doesn’t take much to make me happy or to make me cry *tears of joy and maybe sadness too*

I scrolled through my comments and saw Tanya, Post Prodigal and Beth’s – Nutsrok’s comments:

Just got your book from Amazon. Will be starting it tonight!  From Beth

Thank you, Jackie. I’m still reading and loving your book of poems, btw. I’ll post a review on Amazon when I am done. It just blesses me! From Tanya

and the tears pooled in my eyes. Yes! I can be emotional, but that’s who I am.

I did nothing to deserve the show of kindness that I’ve received in this place.

I did nothing to receive the amount of care that I receive in this place.

I did nothing… Not one thing…

You did it all…and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

You may not understand…

when someone is walking out of the valley of fear,

of deeply incinerated scars and doubts, reaching for the light…

a little shine of light is so much hope.

I wrote my poetry book from my heart and I’ve never thought that it would interest anyone. I couldn’t even afford professional editing.

I wrote it for me. To help me deal with some experiences and pain that life brought my way yet, several friends have reached out to me to express how the words have touched them that I have to go and read them again myself…

Publishing it was just a step up, to tell myself that “yes I can!
…and I said to myself, Jacqueline, if even 5 people buy this book, then consider yourself blessed…

It sold 5, then 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12…..19 and counting

Thank you, my dear friends. Thank God.

I have friends in high places and it’s YOU!

Out of the silent breath

Expose my heart

that I may understand your words

through every conscious,

awakened pore of each moment.

Partners

3 strategic partners already! Just Wow!

A couple of days ago, I sent out a post indicating my interest in having strategic blog partners and between you and I, I thought that I would probably have to publish and republish the post a million times before it would receive any sort of response, if at all.

To my delight, my supposition has been proven wrong.

I now have 3 fab partners and several more inquiries.

I am tickled pink and coloured in smiles.

Thank you, dear folks, for your good will 🙂

My strategic partners so far can be found on my side bar and here they are below.

Do take a peek. I run with the right crowd of good people 🙂

Out of the silent breath

Enchant me with your expressive eyes, that crinkles in laughter as you speak

that I may find myself ever caught between

the reflections of your pupils and there shall I remain.

Partners WANTED!!…

In this journey, you simply can’t go it alone. A lot of times you need to team up with others to achieve certain goals and that is one of the essence and rules of public engagement.

Blogging and writing are public engagement. Yes indeed, we write for ourselves, but when we lack readers, after a while, our zeal wanes.

This is a topic that I have given much reflection over the past few months and as a matter of fact, I put up a page on my header that reads ‘I am for hire.’

I am sourcing for blog partners who are interested in renting prime advert space on my sidebar which will be at a very nominal fee and arrangements can be made for convenient durations of 3 months, 6 months, 1 year…

What are the benefits?

  • It will be a growth focused team effort.
  • A mutually beneficial endeavour.
  • The blog’s logo/URL will be hosted on my sidebar under the title ‘My partners’ and a click will take an interested party directly to your site.
  • A weekly feature of partners post.
  • The high possibility of more visibility.
  • As I search for more room for growth, I take you along with me.
  • It will support me to maintain my blog.

Inspired Beacon is my first partner and if you look to my sidebar you’ll see the logo nicely emblazoned there. I also find that I have a lot to learn from Kaylaa Blackwell the blog author.

Asides from brilliant, inspiring posts that she publishes, she’s setting up an enviable e-commerce store. Inspired Beacon is a forward-focused blog and I admire such entrepreneurship and positivism.

Will you take a chance on me?

Would you like to work with me?

I’m sure that it will be a worthwhile opportunity for growth.

You can send me an email: JacquelineObyIkocha@gmail.com or use my contact page on the header.

I look forward to hearing from you and my door is open for suggestions.

Sincerely,

Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha

Out of the silent breath

Never leave me lonely

With words left unsaid

You walk away into the dark

Like a mist, that melts away.

Dreams[1]

Not all soil is good for planting due to its acidity or other toxic properties.

Likewise, not all circumstances that surround us will be supportive in nurturing you to the best of your potentials.

Sometimes, you have to make the smart decision and keep your dreams alive but away from toxicity.

Once you recognise such traits, it might not be easy to discard of such circumstances (they might be your family or job), but with wisdom, you can circumvent such characters and keep moving on without relent.

Pranabaxom I enjoy reading Pranabaxom’s written words. An excerpt of the about page reads ‘I open my mind to the world.  Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy.  I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of this sunshine with my readers.’ Go check it out.

I am: I could like this poem so many times over. It speaks to you and gives you joy. Do check it out.

Lightheaded:  let me introduce you to Nancy Thorton whose journey of creating a new life after retiring has become an exciting one at 8,200 feet. In her words: ‘I’ve made a life for myself with words. from the first poem I penned in second grade about puppies to selling some of the  world’s most comfortable shoes.  through all those years I had teachers, editors, account people, clients even clients’ wives telling me how to make my copy better. and on occasion they were right.’

Tell Me:  ‘Blindfolded, Sarn could see nothing except the perpetual green glow of his eyes since their light was also trapped inside that light-tight fabric strip.

Yesterday, my son had a surprise for me and they made me cover my eyes and walk while he held my hand. I liked the idea of the surprise but didn’t quite trust that I wouldn’t hit my head before getting there.

Now, I can imagine how Sarn must have felt and in his own case, his life was endangered. Melinda keeps weaving a thick, suspenseful plot.

Dear Husband Of Mine… personal

Sometimes, I keep quiet
Searching for the words
To say that I love you.

Sometimes, my heart combusts
With the fullness
Of knowing you.

Sometimes, I doubt if word’s
Can really say
What I feel for you.

These times,
I utter words of thanks
To God who brought you to me.

Sometimes, I love you
Seems to be so small
A word for what you mean to me.

You mean the World
And so much beyond
My husband. You are a good man.

This time
I can’t keep quiet
But shout it from the rooftops.

Midnight Motivations and Musings #20..

1455887357056[1]

There are times when all looks dim and bleak, but if we look hard enough, there is always a way, no matter how tight that way may appear.

At that point in time when we are passing through hellish moments, we don’t stop to wallow in it and in self-pity. We have to keep moving.

Even if our will power is flagging, look to someone’s own to latch on to. There is absolutely no shame in leaning on someone’s shoulder momentarily while you catch your breath if need be. People are sent into our lives at some points in time for reasons such as this.

The only shame is in giving up because you have the fear of being judged or you are too proud. The persons judgement is not your problem.

Your problem is in staying focused and getting out of the miry bog in which you are stuck in.

Know that even at the end of the darkest tunnel, there will always be found a sliver of light, and, yes the darkness will pass. For the only constant in life is change and no situation ever remains permanent.

Surviving your test allows you the opportunity to be a testimony to others and someone else’s leaning post at one point in time or the other.

Be patient as you strive and keep looking in the way of the light.

A Blog Post To Two Men…

This is an impromptu blog post that came to my mind and I just have to write it. Maybe, there are more men like you in blogosphere and that would be a good thing to find. I am looking for them.

Jason and Danny, I appreciate your sense of community and support. We all have our personal goals and drive in this place and as consuming as this passion of ours is, you still find the time to carry those around you along.

Please note, this is not a fan or worship note. I don’t do such, but I know when to appreciate a good thing once I see it. I have noticed some who are far too consumed about themselves, forgetting that it takes an entire village of bloggers to raise one blogger.

At every point in time that I have had reason to reach out to either of you, you unflinchingly respond.

You two are awesome and I wish you both the very best.

Regards,

Jacqueline
