A hilarious quote, but true enough 😉
The shopping must have gone well. Now they want to ride a horse 🙂

Ha! When I saw Linda’s prompt for today’s streams of consciousness, I burst into laughter. I wondered how she picked such a random exclamation.
Most of you who have read my blog would have seen this exclamation littering the horizon of my words from time to time like in these posts:I must have been born exclaiming, Nothing to be tricked about, Fruits of a hustle, Mama Put. I can assure you that there are several more 😉
I actually try to tame my usage of the ha’s and o’s on the tip of my tongue even though it does get the better of me sometimes.
It’s the Nigerianness in me. Even if I live to be 120 years and maybe a resident in Nunavut, I am sure that ha, o and hey, will feature in my writing as well as speech.
Back home, we exclaim a lot especially when we speak in pidgin language. Our sentences are emphasized with o, a, ha and hey! It’s literally impossible for us to do without our high-pitched punctuated exclamations. Haba! That simply takes away the flavour in the expression.
How can I tell you the depth of my askance or surprise if I don’t say ha? 😉
For instance, we use ha to express things such as:
Ha! Indeed, Really?
Ha! You don’t say.
Ha! Wonderful
Ha ba! What is it?
Now I am speaking pidgin in my head as I write and in conclusion, ‘make I finish quick, quick waka comot for hia. E get place wey I won go buy market – let me finish quickly and go out. I need to go shopping somewhere.’

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners, who make our souls blossom – Marcel Proust.
Surround yourself with the right people. Jacqueline
Watching people is totally a favourite sport, so it’s no hardship taking photos of their movement.
I can actually sit and count how many men who strolled past in a suit, or tie, or whatever catches my fancy at that point in time. It’s total fun I tell you and if your eyes are keen enough sometimes, you are rewarded with something to smile about.
I was out all day and there’s no time to simulate night movement, so between the gym, school, grabbing a bite at the mall, I think I managed to get some blurry movement shots for today’s Photo 101 theme ‘moment and motion.’

‘A sliver of light can make a World of difference in the state of darkness.‘ © Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha
Today’s theme makes me thank Photo 101 for giving me the purpose to share some of the numerous collections of light pictures that I have taken.
My dear Himself has had to learn lessons in patience when we go out, because I will ooh and aah over this and that, pointing and clicking away with contentment.
Dubai is a trail blazer and a light bulb of a city. They’ve got the lights going in so many ramifications especially at those high end stores, that the twinkle of the lights beckons to us like moths and we are attracted.
It’s as if the luminescent of the bulbs whisper to you to step in and part with some money. The trick is to leave your credit cards at home and take pocket change just in case 😉
Imagine how life must have been in the dark ages before electricity Candles were meant only for the wealthy back then and cost a fortune. For some reason this brings a quote to my mind which says that ‘putting off someone’s candle, will not make yours to shine brighter.’
Even an ogre can look like a prince in the hazy gaze of a dim lantern, but just make sure you get a good look at him in the brightness of broad daylight 😉
Thankfully, the days of our live’s which revolves around light of the day and darkness of the night are made sweeter under the glow of a bright bulb.

On Thursday’s, I share pictures about ‘Echos of my Neighbourhood.
I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.
Every Thursday, share a photo of bits and pieces of wherever you are at any point in time. It could be houses, backgrounds of your neighbourhood, activities and so forth and you can tag it Echos of my Neighbourhood, add my link to your post so that I will get the ping from your post.
Every other Thursday, I will publish a post with the links of all those who participated the previous week.
This is just a fun way of getting to see more of the World around us through your eyes, since we cannot all be at those places, we can at least see them through you.
The pictures above are taken from here and there. During the course of a week, I take pictures as I go along sorting each day’s issues.
When I am going out by myself, I prefer to leave the ease of driving myself and opt to take a train, bus or taxi depending on. The first two are my first options.
In a good number of areas, the bus stops have a pair of shelter, one for women and children and a separate one for menfolk. Due to the heat which can be unbelievable at times, they are air-conditioned and well maintained.
If you want to get to know a city, to meander free and get to know it’s people, get a map and use public transport.
It free’s your eyes to stare, snap and interact.
When I drive, half of the time, my eyes are glued to the GPS screen trying not to miss a vital turn.

We have grey weather and forecast of three days worth of rainfall. I woke up and it wasn’t raining yet so, I quickly nipped out for my days affairs with the photo assignment for Photo 101 at the back of my mind.
I got some reward for my venture. Now it has started sprinkling a little bit.
Money is one touchy subject that a lot of people love to hate and hate to love. Most people don’t like being told how to manage their money.
The Truth is that we can’t avoid money. It’s been the legal tender through the ages, in so many forms that has evolved over time and is behind a whole lot of misery and content in our lives.
Money is a servant and just a means of arriving at a goal. It should never be placed in the position of a master, because he can become a slave driver, a greedy grubber and a controlling entity once given the opportunity.
With the introduction of credit in the society, it has forged a controlling circle over people’s lives, where people are living consistently above their affordable means by the euphoric idea of buy now and pay later.
By the end of the month, most people’s accounts are in deficit because all the payments has gone in and they hardly have two coins left to rub together, thus the vicious cycle of chasing after the elusive monetary wealth continues.
Until, we conscientiously and actively learn to curb the expense and keep to the absolute needs as against the wants, we will remain in a limbo.
There are so many ways of practicing thrift asides from cutting coupons and it might surprise us how much better off we would be, if we care to throw away some spending practice that burns holes in our pockets.
A borrower will always remain a servant at the beck and call of the lender. May your money be a good servant and not a grinding master.

What a delightful way to cast my baleful eyes and vent at some poorly behaved humans while having fun doing it as well.
Thank you my dear Amanpan for your generous invitation.
Now, I don’t have to feel bad for using my imperial power of thinking to banish some people 😉
Here are my nominees:
I have a tidy list of offenders that I would like to banish to their room, but I will just stick to five as specified.
I would have loved to continue, but I have to stop now. That guy that leaves his sweat all over the machines in the gym drives me crazy 😉
Here are the rules:
Enjoy the rant.
