Parenting is hard:  Your patience has to be thick yet malleable in order to be a parent. There are no perfect parents, but there are good parents who are trying their best to raise their children well.

Stupid things I did when I was young: I know you got up to some silly stuff growing up. Do share with us at least for a good laugh 😉

Midnight Motivations and Musings #103

Inspiring others

Each awakening moment of our lives offers us two main choices.

A choice on how to  treat and relate to others and a choice on how to treat ourselves.

Think about it for a moment and you will realise that everything we do is centred on these two main player’s; ourselves and others.

I’ve found that a bid to make a positive impact on other people’s lives never leaves the giver empty handed. In caring for others, we inadvertently care for ourselves.

The rewards are life changing and sometimes beyond your expectations.

May the lamp that  you carry not only cast light on your path. Let its flickers offer some brightness to those you encounter on your way.

Shalom!

Jacqueline

Out of the silent breath

Dreamy memories of dreamy moments,

of wondrous yearnings and many birthing,

as we clung to each other

excluding any other,

basking in the warmth of our own dew drops

glowing from the aftermath of good love.

Midnight Motivations and Musings 86

More[1]

When society turns away it’s eye’s, many unfortunate souls fall through the cracks of life’s pavement.

Sometimes, their situation may not be due to their fault, but as a result of poor governance, social strata, and displacement.

Indeed, some may have taken the wrong turn and don’t have the inner strength to pull out of the miry bog they’ve found themselves in.

Let’s not be hasty in judgement and assumption that all who are down and out, are lazy or doing drugs. That’s being misinformed. I know places where some humans are so poor that they can barely afford a meal a day, talkless of doing drugs.

The essence of communities is so that we can break bread together.

One of my greatest aspirations is to have a foundation positively geared to assist those who don’t have food to eat. Have you ever seen a smile on that hungry face who least expected that piece of sandwich? It’s beautiful.

I may not be able to change the World single-handedly, but together, we can do more if we are willing.

Out of the silent breath

Expose my heart

that I may understand your words

through every conscious,

awakened pore of each moment.

Today’s featured blogs posts are from a dear friend Melinda Kucsera of In Medias Res.

Mel’s writing is so fascinating, that I never fail to ask myself how she does it. Her attention to details, the visuals, the intrigue she creates are totally skillful.

You need to read her some of her work to get my drift. She’s special 🙂

I enjoyed watching the lady take morsels from a tray and give the man standing in front of her whom I presume is her husband and a younger gentleman, possibly her son.

She reminded me of my mother and the lesson that when we share, we always have enough 🙂

Pranabaxom I enjoy reading Pranabaxom’s written words. An excerpt of the about page reads ‘I open my mind to the world.  Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy.  I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of this sunshine with my readers.’ Go check it out.

I am: I could like this poem so many times over. It speaks to you and gives you joy. Do check it out.

Lightheaded:  let me introduce you to Nancy Thorton whose journey of creating a new life after retiring has become an exciting one at 8,200 feet. In her words: ‘I’ve made a life for myself with words. from the first poem I penned in second grade about puppies to selling some of the  world’s most comfortable shoes.  through all those years I had teachers, editors, account people, clients even clients’ wives telling me how to make my copy better. and on occasion they were right.’

Tell Me:  ‘Blindfolded, Sarn could see nothing except the perpetual green glow of his eyes since their light was also trapped inside that light-tight fabric strip.

Yesterday, my son had a surprise for me and they made me cover my eyes and walk while he held my hand. I liked the idea of the surprise but didn’t quite trust that I wouldn’t hit my head before getting there.

Now, I can imagine how Sarn must have felt and in his own case, his life was endangered. Melinda keeps weaving a thick, suspenseful plot.

Dear Husband Of Mine… personal

Sometimes, I keep quiet
Searching for the words
To say that I love you.

Sometimes, my heart combusts
With the fullness
Of knowing you.

Sometimes, I doubt if word’s
Can really say
What I feel for you.

These times,
I utter words of thanks
To God who brought you to me.

Sometimes, I love you
Seems to be so small
A word for what you mean to me.

You mean the World
And so much beyond
My husband. You are a good man.

This time
I can’t keep quiet
But shout it from the rooftops.
