Midnight Motivations and Musings 43…

1459242075415[1]

A whole lot of times, for fear of being hurt, or losing out, we choose to sit on the fence rather than dabbling and trying our best.

Easy does it quite alright and it’s essential to exercise caution before jumping into any venture or as the case may be a relationship.

However, we cannot because of previous bad experience rule out every other opportunity to try again.

Like my people would say, we cannot because of fear of shooting, avoid going to war when the need arises. For example, the fact that Tim broke your heart, doesn’t mean John will do so. For all you know, John might be that partner you’ve been seeking for.

Secondly, because one business endeavour failed, you cannot write off all other possibilities with the wave of the hand.

Rather, it makes more sense to apply the learnings from the previous experience, that way, you stand a better chance at succeeding.

Exhaling Loudly…This is my life.

1458736407007[1]

I know it’s not weekend yet, but I am thankful that we are halfway there, or as in my case, almost a day to weekend and the school Spring breaks commences on Friday. YAYYYYY!!!

Our weekend’s over here in the Middle East starts on Thursday evenings and sometimes, it makes my mind go wonky, when the work week starts on Sunday’s and other parts of the World are still on a weekend.

It’s been one of those weeks that’s just bleh; waking up at past 4 am and making the children’s breakfast and food for school with one eye open.

I know that being a mother, weekend does not necessarily spell idling, but some things are taken out of the hectic equation.

My mouth will probably get twisted seven ways from talking, settling squabbles and I will probably pull my hair out now and again, for these days that squad will be fully at home, adrenaline filled and looking up to Mama the squad entertainer extraordinaire to keep them focused and entertained.

I shall however, thoroughly enjoy not having the infernal red alarm clock go off,  just when I am getting into the zen part of the sleep; at least for the next two weeks. It even rings in my head when I am awake :/

On the other hand, I am equally thankful for a lovely blogger’s bash held in this space. The supportive turn out was just awesome 🙂

I am equally excited that the cover of my collected poetry will soon be ready. There’ll definitely be a sneak peek.

What are the itty-bitty things that your heart knows thanks for?

Do share if you will. Thank you.

Human Bots In The Midst Of The Dirty Spam Bots!

1458703462081[1]

I have a full spam box and decided to slowly weed through and sift with a fine tooth comb, because I have actually unknowingly weeded out a lot of good comments with the load of rubbish before, so I was being careful this time, though it was quite lengthy.

Amidst the offer for watermelon flavoured Viagra, several trolls, crazy offers and all manners of Chinese writing that I couldn’t make out what on earth it was saying, I saw YOU, YOU, YOU AND YOU

I wonder what is going on and why I have lots of decent humans mingled with trashy bots 😐😕?

Apologies if you sent comments and didn’t hear from me.

I am in the process of disentangling you from the weedy trash 😉

I was of the good mind to chew WordPress’s ears, but changed it quickly because I don’t want them to let some mad dogs out of the spam cage and into my arena.

P. S. Did I ever tell you about my green, Johnny just come, new-beginner days when I was responding to comments from bots? Ah!! I guess that’s a story for another day 🙂

My regards,

Conquered…

She knew that

She had to fight

To conquer

Or roll over

To concede

and die.

She chose

To fight

and

she

won

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 33

1457762671569[1]

When all we do is to talk and we don’t do, it then becomes Cock and Bull story.

Our reflections and introspection must try to match our conducts for any meaningful change to occur and this applies to every aspect of our lives that requires change and growth.

Some might say ‘oh yes, it’s in the plan, tomorrow I will do it,’ yet five years down the line, their tomorrow is still waiting to arrive.

The future belongs to all those who embrace constant growth transformation and exploring its directions.

Your future does not know waiting because the future is right now as we  speak.

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 32…

A simple example of how difficult it is to keep our mind focused, is my last week spilling into this week, which has been one roller-coaster of health, stress and all sorts of challenges that I don’t want to inundate you with.

I found negative thoughts and horrendous words creeping into my mind and trying to take an upper hand.

It’s that part of human nature that dislikes discomfort that tries to lash out and grumble or muck about with so much negativity.

Remember the Israelite’s and their journey in the wilderness? A classic example of how grumbling can delay our blessings, that’s if we get it at all again.

I have found that negativity takes root faster than positive thoughts, as such, we must have to consciously pull ourselves out of the funky way of thinking into the way we ought to think.

Even if it’s difficult, occupy yourself with routine and the repetitive mantras from your box of positive thinking.

Midnight Musings and Motivations #26…

1454607799044[1]

Opportunities don’t run up and hug us as we traipse down the alley of nothingness.

Opportunity has to find us doing, for it to turn up and when it does turn up, do we recognize it?

It comes in many forms and a whole lot of times, it may not come wrapped in a nice box with bows and flowers.

Do we stand in the way of our own progress with all the road blocks that we inflict on our path, waiting for an opportunity that will land in our laps while we sit on the rocking chair going back and forth and gossiping about the neighbour?

Sometimes, we have to push ourselves out of the rocking chair to get where we want to go.

Midnight Motivations and Musings 26…

1457167338064[1]

Any life’s happiness that’s tied to the acquisition of material wealth as it’s major source, is in for a long haul of misery and disappointment.

The truth is that, in as much as the material goods and money around us can give that initial buzz of euphoric happiness, they fail to satisfy in the long run and the buzz wanes very fast, that the person in this cycle is in for the rough haul of the constant pursuit of the next buzz.

This is actually what leads to addiction. The perpetual search for the next high and kick.

Addiction comes in different forms, some more destructive than others, but the underlying factor that poses the problem is the addicted persons inability to find harmony within themselves, so they search for it through external factors.

If your happiness is dependent on others, then you are in for a roller-coaster of emotional instability.

It means that you are submitting your happiness to the ups and downs of someone else’s state of mind which can be rife with turbulence.

The true happiness that you seek to experience can only ever be found inside you and other people or things are just complements.

Dig deeper until you get to that root that transcends the state of happiness to the state of joy.

Joy is deeper. Where happiness is like a stream that might dry up when the sun gets very hot, joy runs like the deep ocean that flows from an unfailing source and that is The Lord.
