Woot! Woot! I saw this list of Cool Kids of WordPress and just wanted to admire my fellow bloggers only to find little me in this list 🙂
I am wearing a big, fat, silly smile 🙂
I’ve been collecting a list of WP bloggers with an insane amount of followers who focus primarily on writing. No doubt you’ve come across most, if not all of these writerly scholars who meander about WordPress, affecting us with their Hollywood connections, best seller success, dreamy wordiness or their delicately composed poems that touch on the otherworldly.
Of course, I knew that she would grow up, I watched her do so right under my eyes’ but I didn’t expect it so soon. I can still remember our toddling days with amazing clarity.
Yet, nothing really prepares you for the teenage years and seeing your baby girl all dressed up, sparkling in a teenage fashion dinner dress topped off with beautiful inexpensive fashion jewelry has a way of bringing a lump to your throat.
My rough and tumble tomboy has turned into a princess. The old gives way to the young and the circle of life continues.
We chose a simple off-shoulder blue-black ball gown that is not overwhelming and the fashion jewelry of shiny stones and sterling silver.
Quick tips for choosing jewellery.
Keep it simple. Don’t go over the top looking for prestigious names.
Silver is in and has a way of blending with anything.
Check the mark and look for products marked sterling silver, which is 92.5 percent silver. Avoid Nickel and German silver. They don’t really have silver in them and some tend to irritate the skin especially if they are not hypoallergenic.
Enjoy the shopping experience. Find laughter and fun. These are memories that would last a lifetime.
If you ever visit my neck of the woods, a visit to ‘The Spice Souk is imperative.
I visited the souk to replenish my small collection of spices, herbs and teas. Leaving sticks of cinnamon, vanilla, some aromatic herbs and essence in little corners around the house, simply creates a fresh, lovely fragrance for the house.
Inhale deeply when you step into the narrow alleyways of the Spice Souk which is located in Deira.
Savour the lively ambience and the eclectic aromas of the old World as you are introduced to mounds and mounds of aromatic herbs and spices spilling from large baskets at every turn.
Bags of spices, incense, frankincense, dry hibiscus, sunflower seeds, rose petals, traditional medicinal products and so much more are stacked outside each stall with the stall owners beckoning you from all angles to come in to patronise them.
They will promise you the best quality of spice, herbs et cetera, and if you’re looking to buy, bargaining is quite the norm in the souks.
Always ask for the best price, particularly when paying cash, which is the most common way to pay and do enjoy the haggling 😉
Every part of the world holds its delightful charms and lady Lee introduces us to Batanes. A superb adventure going by her delightful photos.
Travel itch has attacked my feet 😉

There are days that you would find yourself scribbling and tapping away with much zeal and then the following day you wake up to a blank mind that stretches from one day to the other, then weeks…months…and you are waiting for the inspiration to ignite. You’ve just been visited by the gremlin that blocks creativity aka writers’ block.
Writers’ block can last for as long as it chooses if you let it. It’s a common malaise that every writer struggles with now and again, but the most important thing is what you do when faced with it.
Writing is an art that takes a lot of brain power, creative energy, focus and mental acuity each time. It’s not a science that has a ‘Eureka formula fix’ as such, we have to approach its solution with that in mind.
Igniting that inspiration is not going to happen unless you take it in hand and having been writing for a while, here are some of the prescribed methods I use to doctor my creative constipation to enable easier passage of inspiration. Read More…
Lazy mornings are coming right up – at least no early school morning dashes for the next two weeks ‘cos the kiddos are going on a school break this weekend.
I’ll savour these forthcoming quiet early moments and take positive advantage of them by just lying in and devouring some pages of a good book, working on my book, clattering away on my laptop before duty calls.
I am thankful for these mini-breaks in the hectic transmission of the days of our lives and I’m whistling – Tra la, la twiddle dee, dee…Â
I am just going to inhale lots of love, promote harmony and exhale gratitude. Jacqueline

Oddball Are you really the person your dog thinks you are? This one had me smiling 🙂
Are you a carrot or a pea? I understand Martha’s view that grocery can be vexing. I don’t mind it some days, but most of the time, it’s a necessary chore that I partake in weekly.
I walk by these waters often enough to catch occasional sights that cause me to pause in my steps and wonder at the human attitude.
The surface of the water has a film of dark oil residue that glistens and I presume it comes from boats and I am certain that it’s not the best for marine life – then again, what do I know.
The second photo is a can of empty 7-up perched by the water. The slightest blow of breeze will certainly cause the can to tip over and into the water.
The third photo which was taken on a different day is about those who I describe in my mind as the ‘unseen one’s.’ These men go about in their boats taking out the trash that people carelessly toss into the water. I’ve seen the horrifying amount of rubbish that they pull out of the water and can’t help but wonder what the situation would be like if these unseen ones’ were not there in the background clearing filth?
The sad part is that there are visible trash collectors every few meters along the track, yet humans are far too inconsiderate to dispose of their trash in the right manner.
The interesting thing is, if you ask the next man if he cares about the environment and marine life, he would say ‘of course, I do,’ but he can’t be bothered to walk a few meters to dispose of his garbage appropriately.
It bothers me. What about you?
I am not a tree hugger, but an ordinary person who loves nature. Forget the first part of this sentence. Yes, I’m a tree hugger.
I knew that I would run out of fuel living as someone else, so, the best shot I’ve got at living is to live as me – Jacqueline
The best peace that we can give ourselves is to come to terms with who we truly are, embrace it and move forward from there.
Our life is intertwined with sweet and bitter moments, sometimes the bitterness tends to erode the sweetness, but I’ve learnt and still learning that we can enrich our bitter moments and turn it into fodder for sweeter moments.
Don’t stay in that categorised box where others have chosen to keep you. Liberate yourself, cut lose and live fully. You are more than a label.
