Midnight Motivations and Musings #28

When we go into a new venture even our writing, we must always remember that we are not writing just for ourselves.

Yes, indeed it’s true that there are some personal things that we might share to ease our minds and for a myriad of other reasons, but half of the time, your story could serve as a beacon of light for someone going through their own journey.

This equally applies to so many other aspects of our lives, business, work, relationships etc.

What value are you adding where you are?

What hand of fellowship do you extend to others or are you the constantly expectant type?

It’s a proven truth, tested and tried over time, that people will stay closer to those who make them feel welcome and more at ease.

Think back on the busted friendships and broken alliances. What went wrong? Could it be traced to attitude problems? A lot of people find it difficult to look at their shortcomings fully in the face and accept their faults.

Always recollect that attitude makes a lot of difference and leaves a lot of impressions especially in real-time.

Inaction builds nothing, ever!

Even if it seems the safe route to take at the beginning, it ends up being the route to nowhere.

The truth is that in taking a bold step, making mistakes along the way helps us to combat fear and builds our confidence, while inaction to step out fosters the terror and fear that grips our minds and paralyzes our mind and eventually erodes any confidence or zest that we may have had.

There are many routes that leads up the mountain top and we must take one to climb it. We cannot stay at the foot of the hill and dream about the view from up.

Midnight Musings and Motivations #26…

1454607799044[1]

Opportunities don’t run up and hug us as we traipse down the alley of nothingness.

Opportunity has to find us doing, for it to turn up and when it does turn up, do we recognize it?

It comes in many forms and a whole lot of times, it may not come wrapped in a nice box with bows and flowers.

Do we stand in the way of our own progress with all the road blocks that we inflict on our path, waiting for an opportunity that will land in our laps while we sit on the rocking chair going back and forth and gossiping about the neighbour?

Sometimes, we have to push ourselves out of the rocking chair to get where we want to go.

Midnight Motivations and Musings 26…

Any life’s happiness that’s tied to the acquisition of material wealth as it’s major source, is in for a long haul of misery and disappointment.

The truth is that, in as much as the material goods and money around us can give that initial buzz of euphoric happiness, they fail to satisfy in the long run and the buzz wanes very fast, that the person in this cycle is in for the rough haul of the constant pursuit of the next buzz.

This is actually what leads to addiction. The perpetual search for the next high and kick.

Addiction comes in different forms, some more destructive than others, but the underlying factor that poses the problem is the addicted persons inability to find harmony within themselves, so they search for it through external factors.

If your happiness is dependent on others, then you are in for a roller-coaster of emotional instability.

It means that you are submitting your happiness to the ups and downs of someone else’s state of mind which can be rife with turbulence.

The true happiness that you seek to experience can only ever be found inside you and other people or things are just complements.

Dig deeper until you get to that root that transcends the state of happiness to the state of joy.

Joy is deeper. Where happiness is like a stream that might dry up when the sun gets very hot, joy runs like the deep ocean that flows from an unfailing source and that is The Lord.

Midnight Motivations and Musings… 25

We over plan for tomorrow, yet today has been left with so many gaps unfilled.

How do you guarantee that you have tomorrow at hand?

Did you use your today to the best of it’s ability? Note that I said, ‘it’s ability, not your ability.’

Remember that each day that passes is forever lost to us.

Therefore, in all that you do; work, play, rest, love, care, share and the rest of things humans do, do it to the best of your ability and the full capacity of your day.

Our lives are only worth what we make of it and it’s not the length of one’s days that really matter, but the depth of how they lived.

Midnight Musings and Meditations 23…

Money is one touchy subject that a lot of people love to hate and hate to love. Most people don’t like being told how to manage their money.

The Truth is that we can’t avoid money. It’s been the legal tender through the ages, in so many forms that has evolved over time and is behind a whole lot of misery and content in our lives.

Money is a servant and just a means of arriving at a goal. It should never be placed in the position of a master, because he can become  a slave driver, a greedy grubber and a controlling entity once given the opportunity.

With the introduction of credit in the society, it has forged a controlling circle over people’s lives, where people are living consistently above their affordable means by the euphoric idea of buy now and pay later.

By the end of the month, most people’s accounts are in deficit because all the payments has gone in and they hardly have two coins left to rub together, thus the vicious cycle of chasing after the elusive monetary wealth continues.

Until, we conscientiously and actively learn to curb the expense and keep to the absolute needs as against the wants, we will remain in a limbo.

There are so many ways of practicing thrift asides from cutting coupons and it might surprise us how much better off we would be, if we care to throw away some spending practice that burns holes in our pockets.

A borrower will always remain a servant at the beck and call of the lender. May your money be a good servant and not a grinding master.

Midnight Motivations and Musings 22…

1456855202228

There are those who are experts in finding every feasible excuse under this side of the planet why something cannot be achieved, meanwhile the solution to achieving the goal is just as plain as the day and right before their nose.

They build their pessimistic mountains out of molehills and nothing ever gets done around them, due to the long chain of all the bad things that could go wrong if they ventured to take a risk.

So, they never venture. They cower in a corner and try to discourage those who dare to venture.

Life in itself is a risk. From the day you were born it is a risk, until the day you die.

It’s either you live as fully as you can or you die having never lived.

Tuesdays Trickles…My Thinking Corner 11.

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.

Each Tuesday, share your very short snippets of positive, inspiring, motivating, health, spiritual, writing advice, clips, posts etc, that can serve as a prop to motivate others and simply add my link to your post.

I call it my thinking corner because, I actually take out a bit of time just to think through things, encapsulate my thoughts as much as possible and detoxify my mind.

It might work for you in a different way, but the idea is to get the positive thoughts flowing.

Please send in your little thoughts. You never know whose life you might inspire.

♦ When you’ve achieved everything but you failed to love anyone and impact on them positively, you’ve achieved nothing.

♦ Living a more intentional life, leaves little room for waste.

♦ Whatever time that is not used well is lost. You will never get it back again, however, remember that rest is part of it, so that you do not experience diminishing returns from exhaustion. The idea is to create balance.

♦ You don’t have time to join issues with everybody. Choose your battles wisely. If something is not adding any value to your life and purpose, then it is probably not worth wasting valuable energy on.

♦ Your joy is dependent on you and can only be stolen when you allow it to be so.

Our Thinkers Thoughts came in from:

Deb of Bookyglover words are always succinctly stated. Observing these little things can go a long way to a fulfilled life.

Giggles & Tales in Stella’s words ‘Life is a bristle of challenges. Life is filled with ups and downs. But no matter the difficulties, don’t allow it to kill your enthusiasm for success.’ The rest of her wise words can be found in her link.

Kingsoracle sometimes, we need to take those quantum leaps of risks to make any head way. Oba’s words strike a chord in me.

Striving Mom words on taking note of your life lessons are words that we should repeat to ourselves everyday.

A Thomas point of view makes me want to keep striving and so should you.

Anette’s With these three simple things from a Hippie Chick who knows her worth, you’ve got it going right.

Thank you to all the contributors. May these words take roots in our lives and may our harvest be bountiful 🙂

‘So, when will you share those nuggets of wisdom of yours?’

Midnight Motivations and Musings 21…

1456774489154Procrastination and evasion deprives us of so much and over time, when we weigh the time wasted debating on whether or not we should take a step, it accumulates to a tidy part of a lifetime.

Procrastination leaves us with so many, what if’s, had I known and should have’s which can be avoided, when we conscientiously take daily steps in living more purposeful and intentional lives.

We not super-human and are bound to falter now and again, but when our focus is targeted and meticulous, a falter will not send us completely off track.

In tying in evasiveness and forgiveness or kindness, some are far willing to cut the entire slack for themselves and granting every excuse under the Sun as lee-ways to dilly-dally, while they use an iron fist of expectation on others.

To lead, or impact on others, you must, yourself be an example worth emulating.

Midnight Motivations and Musings #20..

1455887357056[1]

There are times when all looks dim and bleak, but if we look hard enough, there is always a way, no matter how tight that way may appear.

At that point in time when we are passing through hellish moments, we don’t stop to wallow in it and in self-pity. We have to keep moving.

Even if our will power is flagging, look to someone’s own to latch on to. There is absolutely no shame in leaning on someone’s shoulder momentarily while you catch your breath if need be. People are sent into our lives at some points in time for reasons such as this.

The only shame is in giving up because you have the fear of being judged or you are too proud. The persons judgement is not your problem.

Your problem is in staying focused and getting out of the miry bog in which you are stuck in.

Know that even at the end of the darkest tunnel, there will always be found a sliver of light, and, yes the darkness will pass. For the only constant in life is change and no situation ever remains permanent.

Surviving your test allows you the opportunity to be a testimony to others and someone else’s leaning post at one point in time or the other.

Be patient as you strive and keep looking in the way of the light.
