Easy-Peasy Patting Prompt…

Well WP my man,

You seem to be stealing my thoughts and this just about confirms it. The easiest prompt so far in so many days of Sundays.

I have already done some patting on backs a couple of hours ago to two blog-some blokes that have been a a gem of support in blog-land and they so deserve the pat.

There are several others that I enjoy their hospitality in this abode, *sorry ladies* but my mind is thinking only testosterone this evening.

There are two handsome furry Primates My dear Chimp and ChrisA nice bun in a paper baga dashing poet, a a loving young chapa smart writer and a wise gentleman.

Indeed there are so many of these guys and I bet that I will find more like them around.

My Writers Cold Feet…

This is my first attempt at Silver’s Writer’s Quote Wednesday and I shall dip my feet into the water with this quote that resonates with me.

‘Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom we can neither resist nor understand.’ George Orwell

I don’t know how many times that I have read this quote and I care not to count. All I know is that whenever I come across it, I nod my head vigorously.

When people are reading the written works of others, they have absolutely no idea the amount of drive, discipline, zeal, craziness and a whole myriad of emotions and actions that are invested in that work.

It is an arduous tiresome and thankless task, yet the muse in you will not let your mind keep quiet or sleep if you don’t put down those words.

Most times, writing short notes, stories, poems and essays are easier by far and more fun than writing a book.

Sometimes, I set off writing something and find myself surprised at where I ended up.

I have three manuscripts of novels at different stages sitting on my desk and staring malevolently at me and yet, some days it’s just a drag to get editing and working at it.

I have run around in circles to circumvent doing this painful task and I am running out of ideas.

One is at 95% completion, the other 70 and another at 50 percent and the characters in these books are ganging up and threatening my life with all sorts of things.

I am using the excuse that I am putting my poetry book together to stall them.

I know that there will be mutiny in the near future when the poetry book and the motivational books are done.

Maybe then, they will seize my clothes!

A Little Seed Sown…

It all starts with a little seed, that you plant, diligently tender and leave in the hands of the Lord of bounty to reward your efforts.

Last week, I applied for WordAds to be added to my blog since I am interested in earning a stipend for the hours that I am plugging away on this blog.

The initial feedback was a bit disconcerting for me. Basically, the response boiled down to the advice that I should go and wait and that they will get back to me if they find my stats satisfactory.

Given that my blog is a premium blog, for ads to be put in, you must have to meet a certain measure of traffic, which I presume is the general rule.

To cut a long story short, I went to sleep not to glad and I remember in my sleep, asking God to please not let my labour be in vain and reminding him of his words that a labourer is worthy of his wages.

To my delight, yesterday, I got a notification that my blog has been approved for WordAds and saw the ads placed on it.

It’s a gratifying moment for me and I am deeply thankful for this opportunity.

‘It will all end in praise.’

A Blog Post To Two Men…

This is an impromptu blog post that came to my mind and I just have to write it. Maybe, there are more men like you in blogosphere and that would be a good thing to find. I am looking for them.

Jason and Danny, I appreciate your sense of community and support. We all have our personal goals and drive in this place and as consuming as this passion of ours is, you still find the time to carry those around you along.

Please note, this is not a fan or worship note. I don’t do such, but I know when to appreciate a good thing once I see it. I have noticed some who are far too consumed about themselves, forgetting that it takes an entire village of bloggers to raise one blogger.

At every point in time that I have had reason to reach out to either of you, you unflinchingly respond.

You two are awesome and I wish you both the very best.

Regards,

Jacqueline

Dangerous!

I very much doubt if I will be eager to put my money in these bags.

It might just eat it up.

Or maybe it’s meant to bite the fingers of anyone who tries to nick a penny 😉

I Caught Her In The Nook!…

She was lost in those pages. Even when I bent down to look for a book and said hello, she barely raised her head.

Must be a very compelling book hence the desire to finish it quickly before leaving the bookstore.

It made me smile 🙂

Midnight Motivations And Musings #15

1456144791877[1]

Those who crave for the moon have to learn how to reach for the stars, even when life knocks you on your back. As a matter of fact, that is a good position for star gazing 😉

Wishing and not doing is idle-dreaming.

Dreams are only actualized when the steps are set in motion.

Your steps should be broken into days to give your a greater opportunity to be fully present in your moments.

It makes no sense running off to make a five year’s projection, when the next weeks projection is staring you in the face without being dealt with. That my friend is simply trying to play the game of delayed procrastination with your time.

Do remember that all the time that you have are equals to your life.

Step out of the revolving door and dare to fail forward.

Regards,
