The Winning Number…

Carl was tired to the bones and felt disgruntled about his job. It was mere drudgery with little pay.

The new foreman was also an ass who kept yelling at people.

He regretted dropping out of college and wished he could start all over. Girls and booze was a pastime that got old fast and with Sue pregnant with a second child. He worried.

Break time was a little reprieve, so he ambled over to the deli where the other men gathered for a quick lunch.

All eyes were glued to the excited TV presenter who called out the winning lottery numbers. Each man read his ticket hopefully.

Carl paid no mind. He had bought just one ticket for reasons he couldn’t explain.

The cashier exclaimed that the ticket had been sold in the deli.

Each man checked his stub again and he fumbled in the back pocket of his dirty jeans to find his.

The ground rushed to meet him in dead faint. He had the winning number.

Starting Young….Mundane Monday

I watched the little lady struggle with her ball.

I bet the ball weighed more than she did, but she wouldn’t let anyone else get it 🙂

Midnight Motivations and Musings #20..

1455887357056[1]

There are times when all looks dim and bleak, but if we look hard enough, there is always a way, no matter how tight that way may appear.

At that point in time when we are passing through hellish moments, we don’t stop to wallow in it and in self-pity. We have to keep moving.

Even if our will power is flagging, look to someone’s own to latch on to. There is absolutely no shame in leaning on someone’s shoulder momentarily while you catch your breath if need be. People are sent into our lives at some points in time for reasons such as this.

The only shame is in giving up because you have the fear of being judged or you are too proud. The persons judgement is not your problem.

Your problem is in staying focused and getting out of the miry bog in which you are stuck in.

Know that even at the end of the darkest tunnel, there will always be found a sliver of light, and, yes the darkness will pass. For the only constant in life is change and no situation ever remains permanent.

Surviving your test allows you the opportunity to be a testimony to others and someone else’s leaning post at one point in time or the other.

Be patient as you strive and keep looking in the way of the light.

Be Free…VLOG

BE FREE

May I live
Unafraid to breathe
Free from a choke-hold
That becomes a stronghold
May I live
Unafraid to live
Clinging to my expectations
With feral desperation

May I share space
Unafraid of being encased
Free from condemnation of race
That becomes a strong base
Purple, White, Olive, Black and every hue within
May I share space
Knowing that we are first a human race
…And all blood are red in this place.

May I speak of belief
Unafraid and in relief
Free from contentious eyes of disbelief
That becomes thresholds of grief
May I wear my mask of belief
Understanding that to achieve
Peace would be a welcome reprieve
…Which we must seek to retrieve.

May I love you
Unafraid to be bound to you
Free from censors of broken whispers
That becomes harbingers of cold shivers
May I love freely my love
Unafraid to expose my naked bust
Knowing that in you lies my trust
Encased in the warm embrace of your love.

Reflections…

Enrich my soul

That it may find words to say

Fill my heart with things pure

That your goodness may reflect from me

Show yourself mighty in my life

So that all may see and know

That none who turns to you

Can remain shackled and enslaved.

Nor be turned away empty.

Midnight Motivations and Musings #19…

1456384878115[1]

No matter how careful we are.

No matter how well we plan.

We never know what lies down the next bend on this journey of ours.

We never know what curve ball that is heading our way.

How deep we would be tossed into the cold waters

Oh how high into the winds it would flip us.

Nevertheless, in all these uncertainties

There are rudders and life buoys that helps us steer and keeps us afloat

These are the things that we must always hold on to in our life aid kit.

For day to day, we never know when we will need each of these things.
