Online Blog Party

Welcome To July Blog Party & Book Cover Reveal

Welcome to July’s blog party and the book cover reveal of my second poetry book.

Party Time

Can you believe that we are already done with the 1st half of this year? It’s been a roller-coaster year, but we must keep thankful for where we are, for each day and the opportunities that come our way.

Let’s kick in the next half with good positive vibes, motivation, focus, and gratitude.

I would love to thank all my newly acquired blogger friends. I appreciate your taking the time to connect with me on my blog. This is a blog that offers the opportunity to connect with others through monthly blog parties, featured posts, posts that caught my interest and author zone. Feel free to avail yourself of any of these opportunities.

I believe that we grow by supporting each other and I hope that you find that support here.

Do make yourself comfortable. Refreshments are nicely arranged down the page: Drinks, Chocolates, Cakes, Donuts, freshly squeezed juice, Coffee, Tea and so much more. :-)

Little party rules

  • Be friendly. Mix and mingle with others. Don’t be a wallflower. Blog parties offer the opportunity to meet many other bloggers in one place. Use the opportunity effectively.
  •  Please leave your blog link or post link in the comment box below along with an introduction.
  • It’s one link per comment, but come back as often as you’d like, that way it’s easier for others to focus on a link one at a time.
  • Have fun, this is a great way to find bloggers and have them find you.
  • Please show some love. Reblog this post. It helps all of us! The more people that see and participate in it, the more potential new follows! So, share and share voraciously!

COMING SOON

Unbridled is a collection of bold, uncensored poems. The author speaks of societal issues without niceties. The soul of each poetry tugs at the depth of your being and the writing style makes it easy to identify with the emotions of the character in each poem. If you are looking for the unspoken truth that society would rather brush under the carpet, I recommend you read Unbridled. – Ekaete Augustine-Edet

Forgetting God

Are we on a slow slide towards destruction? Who would we blame for our poor choices? An enlightening read to start one’s day.

Problem with the Millenials

Excerpts of this insightful article struck me in the head and I have to question myself. Am I part of the problem?

We cannot expect children or young adults to behave in a way that we have not trained them to behave. If we have done everything for them and constantly protected them as they have moved through the world, of course they are going to wind up back in our homes where they feel protected, comfortable, and … well, at home.

Which way in the rain?

When it rains, do you huddle somewhere and wait it out, or do you enjoy a little sprinkle – if you are not a bag of salt – and exploring?

Feeling tired, check your blood sugar

I think Anna wrote this article for me. This is how I’ve been feeling lately.

Us the talking machines

I read this post and here’s my thought: ‘Good gracious! If we continue at this rate, we’ll suck the joy and juice out of living!’

In this busy world of twenty-first century, we the human beings have transformed into mechanical beings. No one has any time to spare. Recently, I came across an article about helpline services which provides memorial services if approached. They help performing functions like cremation and the likes. They even have the service of sending people to cry and mourn on the particular occasion. Such modernized our world has become that people are hiring actors to cry for their relatives’ death. People have become superficial.

This month I am promoting Nutstrok’s new book as my own little way of supporting other authors. Just click on the image or check my sidebar.

The only phrase I find apt to use in describing this book is ‘it’s pure gold.’ Once I dug into the first chapter from England to Jamestown – the story of Andrew and Molly, I got hooked and didn’t stop till I finished it.

Linda paints a vivid, compelling story that I was transported back into time and could picture the voyage, the misery and the tough as leather lifestyle of these pioneers. Yet, it’s filled with verve, the strength of body and mind, resilience and inspiration.

A beautiful series that strongly reminds me of Janette Oke’s books which I absolutely adore.

Take a moment and breath: The fisherman’s village I could barely find words to express how good I felt reading Chanty’s post. You should read it

At times I’m left speechless at the curve-balls that we’re faced with so unexpectedly in our lives. As I’m reflecting on my life I am experiencing how God led me gently towards every emotional growth path possible that He knew was best for me. I’m exiting this phase with intensity in my soul that only God could orchestrate.

A very caring little bird What a sweet, sweet story. I know that I am going to have my sturdy rocking chair to watch the birds and bees go by 🙂

It begins with you A well thought out post. If only we checked what proceeds from our mouth we’ll be more at peace.

You never know that your words could be like a burden to them that they carry on their shoulders for forever and that would be so distressing. You never can tell if a person is dealing with anxiety. The nights are always disturbed. It’s crucial to be kind with each and everyone.

The Cross You’ll find something suitable to any situation that you might be passing through. Take a peek at this passage.

Styling and Profiling I call this ‘when you are loving your beautiful awesomeness‘ 😉

Online Blog Party

It’s Party Time. Come Right In.

Hello There. Welcome. My end of the month’s blog party had to be postponed to this week due to some rickety behaviour of my system last weekend. It’s all sorted now and nothing is going to stop us from having a good time.

Do make yourself comfortable. Refreshments are nicely arranged down the page: Drinks, Chocolates, Cakes, Donuts, freshly squeezed juice, Coffee, Tea and so much more. :-)

Did You Know?

That the most highlighted books on Kindle according to Amazon are the Bible, the Steve Jobs biography, and The Hunger Games? There’s gotta to be something in those books.

That a tarantula can live without food for more than two years? No wonder it’s such a meanie!

That to produce a single pound of honey, a single bee would have to visit 2 million flowers? That’s a lot of buzzing.

That during your lifetime, you will produce enough saliva to fill two swimming pools? Stop dribbling 😉

That the tongue is the strongest muscle in the body?  You don’t say!

I found this silly quote and it’s just apt 🙂

Jump in Nothing like wading right in and going after your dreams. An inspiring post that rekindles my thoughts on my video making improvement and skills.

Listening – A better skill Lovely poem, good counsel and indeed, the art of hearing well is to learn when to keep quiet and stop clucking. Just listen. This made me smile 🙂

Put your hands up in the air An insightful post that I totally enjoyed reading. Here’s my comment:

I think this post was made for me. I relate with so much. Caught between and betwixt; not quite mid-life crisis and like you said, mid-life awakening. Awesome and welcome to the land of the 40’s soon 🙂

Sartorial Splendour

Such a simple post, but says many things to me. Sometimes our dreams just seem out of reach, but we find ways to live them. Do step in and say hello.

Why are we museum guards because we can’t make a living with with our dreams and passions, we need to pay our bills and we need health and dental insurance.  Therefore when I get off work and change into my street clothes I go from being a nobody back to me, a human being.  Many of my guard co-workers express ourselves through our clothing, tattoos, piercings projecting an artistic vibe. Then we are on display as the creative human beings we really are.

The Cross What does the cross mean to you? A beautiful, short read.

Don’t allow the enemy to place guilt before you and miss the message from God. God wants to set you free from the present day conditions that are holding you captive.  There is abundant life with Jesus, he was the ransom for us to be Redeemed!

Let Me Lead You Out An emotive poem that only comes from inner battle and tremendous decision to stand and not give in.

The Past is History, not A Mystery I totally enjoyed reading this. History is there to teach us and help us to make a better decision. History is certainly not a mystery. Do have a read.

Seeking Alternative Help When we are going through health challenges, are we willing to try methods that are probably not things we would have given a second thought to?

Jolts causing rapid emotional or psychological switches: Informative post on mental health. I learned something new today.

People with bipolar disorder, and all other mental illnesses just hate, yes, hate, when people tell them to “snap out of it” (their mood states, anxiety or other states). Since most mental illnesses are not unlike other physical illnesses, such a suggestion is very much easier said than done, and the person suggesting such an action clearly misunderstands the severity and difficulty of the illnesses.

Love is A Verb – An Easter Story Beautiful, deep and gave me a fresh understanding. You’ve got to read this.

God loves all of His Creation regardless of race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, or class; His Creation belongs to His Creation, all of it.
