My Beliefs…Thursday Writing Challenge

Beliefs are like seeds sown over time. Some will fall on fertile ground and yield good fruits, some not at all and some will become thorns – Jacqueline

I believe in God.

**
I believe in the ultimate power of love.

**
I believe in the power of positive thinking.

**
I believe in the strength of family and unity.

**
I believe in the resilience of the human spirit.

**
I believe in seeds sown for positive growth.

**
I believe that caring and kindness elevates us.

**
I believe that all men are born equal and each must be treated fairly.

**
I believe that we are all chosen for a higher purpose and can all make a difference.

**
I believe in the healing power of forgiveness.

**
I believe in God.

Since the beginning of time, societal beliefs have been passed down from generation to generation. Some beliefs are true. Some beliefs are half-truths borne out of the perception of the believer. Some are outright lies that have been perpetuated over time that they become accepted as true for the benefit of the perpetrators.

Out of the silent breath

Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha’s poems portray images that stare us right in the face. Images of love, joy, death, pain, challenges, violation, and freedom. She writes in a language that’s rich in imagery, earthy, honest, vulnerable, yet full of the promise of hope, of loving and of Grace. A collection of light and dark soulful prose.

My Thinking Corner

Tuesdays Trickles – My thinking corner 28

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple. You can check this link for more details.

focus[1]

♣ When you focus on the goodness in your life, you create more of it.

♣ Where do you want to be? That’s where your focus should be. Don’t stop to be distracted by all the side attractions or run after what everyone else is doing. What is your focus? Keep your eyes on it so that you can reach your destination.

It’s easy to get pulled into all the things that takes our mind away especially the negative things that seems to pervade the entire space. Always remember to pull yourself back and not to get sucked into the energy depleting vibes and negativism.

Below are more snippets of wisdom from awesome bloggers. Take a moment to read.

Today’s Nuggets: don’t fold or clip your wings. Don’t limit yourself. This is worth the read.

Inner Peace: beautiful words that are worth adopting for daily and peaceful living.

The path to true greatness: a short and delightful piece of wisdom that you will enjoy. It made me smile.

Words of wisdom: what advice are you dishing out to others? Will you take the same if offered?

Quotes worth repeating: there are quotes that you keep at the fore front of your mind and these ones from Muhammad Ali are priceless.

I hope that you find these little drops useful now and again. Do check them out and please share snippets of your thoughts with us.

Thanks and blessed be.

Just be happy: We truly need to be deeply happy and Chanty’s short post says a lot.

Confined: I have no words to explain how much I always enjoy Michelle’s positively inspiring posts. This leaves me with a blooming thought of hope and inspiration. Now it’s time to really break away from those confining walls.

Tween God and me guide: When the Lord is sending you somewhere, sometimes it might take an ambush or placing you in a whale’s stomach like Jonah, but he will keep hammering on that message until you get the message.

The reincarnation: A chilling nightmare and a thrilling dark read.

Responsibility and ownership of shortcoming are difficult aspects that most struggle with.

Excuses will be made with anything plausible and some will prefer to keep shifting the blame other than shifting the chunk of hubris that denies them the pleasure of seeing themselves in stark reality.

Growth demands that we wake up to the reality of our true selves. It’s until we are honest with ourselves that our new possibilities emerge and we make our dreams come true.

I’m halfway through with this book and was compelled to leave a review. I absolutely love this book of poems. My favorites are “Love Rations” (for those who love to give the silent treatment) and “Beggars Supper” (which definitely pulls at the heart strings). Two thumbs up!!

Wishing our Muslim friends a peaceful and reflective time as they begin their Ramadan fast.

May it be a period of reconciliation, understanding, growth, peace, forgiveness, and harmony.

Can you imagine what life would be like if we all encouraged one another to be the best that they can be?

How would it be, if every single soul lit up their lamp of talents and didn’t hide it under a bushel of excuses or discouragement?

I guess absolutely brilliant would be an understatement.

It is commonly said that the graveyard is the richest place with the brightest and untapped talents that are buried and sadly, this is very true.

Let’s keep encouraging those around us to thrive, for we bring about greater good when we do this.

Iron sharpens iron and the energy spent in blowing off someone’s candle is wasted because it won’t make yours shine brighter than it already does.

Out of the silent breath

Never leave me lonely

With words left unsaid

You walk away into the dark

Like a mist, that melts away.

Today’s featured blogs posts are:

The revengewogger: Breidengale’s blog is a totally inspiring journey of an awesome lady. In her own words below:

Started off wanting revenge in a race against a friend. Turned into getting revenge on my body that attacked me with cancer. Learning to adapt and laugh at the curveballs life has thrown my way while still focusing on running that race next year harder and faster!

ShiVibes: Shihana is a young blogger friend of mine 🙂 In her own words below, she introduces herself. Please show some warm welcome 🙂

Hey there! I am Shihana Nachiya. Eighteen years old Indian girl bought up in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Another lost soul, wandering on this planet, trying to find a purpose in her life.
Words keep buzzing in my head, often leaving me restless.
I’m a dabbler in many things; poet, writer, photographer, bathroom singer, cook and a huge foodie, feminist, voracious reader, a music lover, life enthusiast and a good friend.

Give me a break: Very tenacious Squirrel. This will put a smile on your face for sure 🙂

Finding faith in fear: I truly enjoyed reading Susan’s article. It’s concise, practical and inspiring and here’s my comment.

This is so inspiring and equally practical. Our faith is active and we let go of the fear and trust in the Lord. I like the idea of sitting down and identifying the facts and the root of our fear. That way we get a better grip of it. I enjoyed reading this.

Please do step in and show some love.

Tuesdays Trickles…My thinking corner #19

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.

Each Tuesday, share your very short snippets of positive, inspiring, motivating, health, spiritual, writing advice, clips, posts etc, that can serve as a prop to motivate others and simply add my link to your post.

I call it my thinking corner because, I actually take out a bit of time just to think through things, encapsulate my thoughts as much as possible and detoxify my mind. It helps give me clarity of vision and might help you too.

It might work for you in a different way, but the idea is to get the positive thoughts flowing.

Please send in your little thoughts. You never know whose life you might inspire.

♦ Sometimes, we have to cover our physical sight to see the silver linings in the dark clouds that hover.

♦ When the external heat of life gets too hot, you must keep working at your internal cooling system.

♦ Going with the ordinary flow may sound easy, but sometimes you are washed to the wrong direction. So while flowing, take a paddle with you to steer your course.

♦ Each day, you must remind yourself of what you actually want out of life and keep that vision before your eyes as you take another tiny step in that direction.

♦ Have you been stretching your vision lately? Why not? Don’t settle for laxity.

This week’s thoughts have been sent in by:

Kings oracle This short and sweet post from Oba couldn’t have said it better 🙂

Dollops of heedful rambling This is such a beautiful quote *my first time of reading it* and its truth leaves you mindful.

A purpose-driven achiever Lady Cee joins us with her sage words brings it home to me.

I really enjoy these conscious musings, because sometimes life is just so frenetic that it simply races along with us. These thoughts keep me grounded and help me more than words can say.

My regards,

Jacqueline

P.S I still haven’t been getting some pingbacks, so please if you post a thinking corner post, you might have to visit my page and leave a comment. Thank you.

Dreams[1]

Not all soil is good for planting due to its acidity or other toxic properties.

Likewise, not all circumstances that surround us will be supportive in nurturing you to the best of your potentials.

Sometimes, you have to make the smart decision and keep your dreams alive but away from toxicity.

Once you recognise such traits, it might not be easy to discard of such circumstances (they might be your family or job), but with wisdom, you can circumvent such characters and keep moving on without relent.
