The meaning of a book: a great post on a topic that most of us avoid like a plague. Borrowing Yinglan’s quote:
Religion and Politics. These are two topics you will never see me post on my blog. Why? Because those are two of the most opinionated and sensitive topics out there. Because those are two topics that essentially started wars and tore apart families, friends, and mankind. Because I dislike those two topics.
Playful Halloween costumes: Fun photos. It’s never too early to think ahead so you might get an idea or two from here.

She is amazing at describing love and life in her poems. She creates such beautiful images with her words. Truly, she is a talented writer and I’m so excited to have her poetry book and to continue reading through it.
Diabetes management is not a one size fits all and why: It must be a struggle to live with an ailment that needs constant monitoring and a complete overhaul of lifestyle. I find Anna’s posts on Diabetes not only informative but humourous as well.
Blackwall blog: a refreshing blog that belongs to a new blogger connection of mine. Inspiring, candid posts on life, PTSD, anxiety, panic, family, photos and much more.

A little Summer tale…
We wore Summer dresses
spun like flower coloured cotton
that sat on each stalk
…….Feel free to add yours in the comment. I collate everyone’s contribution and publish it with their links attached.
Can you spot the difference?
Can you help the poor farmer below?
A poor farmer went to the market to sell some peas and lentils. However, as he had only one sack and didn’t want to mix peas and lentils, he poured in the peas first, tied the sack in the middle, and then filled the top portion of the sack with the lentils.
At the market, a rich innkeeper happened by with his own sack. He wanted to buy the peas, but he did not want the lentils.
Pouring the seed anywhere else but the sack is considered soiling.
To trade in sacks is not allowed. The farmer can’t cut a hole in his sack.
How would you transfer the peas to the innkeeper’s sack, which he wants to keep, without soiling the produce?
Please have some fun, mingle and make friends. Thank you 🙂
P.S.You can send in your music request and I’ll try to find it. The Michael Jackson is on Nedoux request. Thank you, girl.
A couple of days ago, I sent out a post indicating my interest in having strategic blog partners and between you and I, I thought that I would probably have to publish and republish the post a million times before it would receive any sort of response, if at all.
To my delight, my supposition has been proven wrong.
I now have 3 fab partners and several more inquiries.
I am tickled pink and coloured in smiles.
Thank you, dear folks, for your good will 🙂
My strategic partners so far can be found on my side bar and here they are below.
Do take a peek. I run with the right crowd of good people 🙂
In this journey, you simply can’t go it alone. A lot of times you need to team up with others to achieve certain goals and that is one of the essence and rules of public engagement.
Blogging and writing are public engagement. Yes indeed, we write for ourselves, but when we lack readers, after a while, our zeal wanes.
This is a topic that I have given much reflection over the past few months and as a matter of fact, I put up a page on my header that reads ‘I am for hire.’
I am sourcing for blog partners who are interested in renting prime advert space on my sidebar which will be at a very nominal fee and arrangements can be made for convenient durations of 3 months, 6 months, 1 year…
What are the benefits?
It will be a growth focused team effort.
A mutually beneficial endeavour.
The blog’s logo/URL will be hosted on my sidebar under the title ‘Mypartners’ and a click will take an interested party directly to your site.
A weekly feature of partners post.
The high possibility of more visibility.
As I search for more room for growth, I take you along with me.
It will support me to maintain my blog.
Inspired Beacon is my first partner and if you look to my sidebar you’ll see the logo nicely emblazoned there. I also find that I have a lot to learn from Kaylaa Blackwell the blog author.
Asides from brilliant, inspiring posts that she publishes, she’s setting up an enviable e-commerce store. Inspired Beacon is a forward-focused blog and I admire such entrepreneurship and positivism.
Will you take a chance on me?
Would you like to work with me?
I’m sure that it will be a worthwhile opportunity for growth.
You can send me an email: JacquelineObyIkocha@gmail.com or use my contact page on the header.
I look forward to hearing from you and my door is open for suggestions.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha

Connections can be built in split moments, while some take a good while to be established.
Every part of human life is filled with one atom of connection or the other. From the technological services that surrounds us that makes it easy for us to be in touch with each other, to the various modes of transportation all around and to the physical fellowship with fellow mankind.
So when we consider the theme of today’s photo 101, we realize that the very essence of life is all based on the singular desire to connect.
Connecting bridge
Connecting bridge
Connecting bridge
Warm feelings among friends
Happy sight
Loving connections
Connecting with music
Let me show you
Let’s see
Connecting over a smoke of shisha
Doing the pushing together
A Bow-wow connect
Sports has a way of building connections
High tension wires connecting us with essential services.
On Thursday’s, I share a picture about ‘Echos of my Neighbourhood.
I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.
Every Thursday, share a photo of bits and pieces of wherever you are at any point in time. It could be houses, backgrounds of your neighbourhood, activities and so forth and you can tag it Echos of my Neighbourhood, add my link to your post so that I will get the ping from your post.
Every other Thursday, I will publish a post with the links of all those who participated the previous week.
This is just a fun way of getting to see more of the World around us through your eyes, since we cannot all be at those places, we can at least see them through you.
I love to explore my neighbourhood with glee.
Most times, while doing so, I feel like a kid unwrapping a present, keeping my eyes peeled.
It always bolsters my spirit, just watching people go about their daily lives with smiles or frowns, talking or not talking.
Just watching.
Last week’s Echoes brought in quite some fresh views:
Aloha from sunny Maui, I refuse to be jealous of Never A Dull Bling’s living it up 😉
If I were to lend an ear to a new blogger, my first words would be:
Go to school! WordPress Blogging University offers such facilities at no cost. Get involved and learn how to make your blog better.
Don’t sweat it! Don’t chew off your fingernails in anxiety with your eyes glued on the statistics of your blog right from the onset.
If you keep your eyes on that statistics dashboard, it will leave you with lots of angst, which can get pretty exhausting.
Easier said than done, but if you really want to grow, you have to be pragmatic in your approach.
Write from your heart and not someone else’s heart.
After the writing, go and mingle with others as much as you possibly can.
No! Don’t just pin up a post, then go off to the beach to pluck your toes in the water and your butt in the sand, surfing YouTube and sipping pina colada. Your blog will not read itself. Nope! It won’t.
I will say it again. ‘MINGLE IN THE MIX.’ As time goes on, you will find your footing, gain some lovely friends and it will surely grow.
Be social media friendly. Yes I know it’s Evil, but it has it’s good sides too 😉
The Truth and Nothing But The Naked Truth is that every good and successful blog out there took a lot of work and time from the blogger.
Lest I forget, please check the grammar as well. No one likes to read mumbo-jumbo. An occasional mistake can be overlooked, but I must warn you that there are grammar Nazi out here looking for who to catch 😉
Now Go Ye And Be Blog Happy. Every successful blogger started with zero follows and when you add these recipes plus more, you will see the digits come up.
