Midnight Motivation and Musings # 62….

A lot of times, pursuing our passion will take a whole lot of our hearts, heads and everything else that we’ve got to give and this is mostly where the challenge lies.

In as much as money makes things easier, money has never stopped a man whose driving aspiration consumes him. They will always find a way to chase it with their zeal.

Often times, we are not ready to make the commitment that such aspirations require and we mask our inabilities by using very legitimate reasons. Other times, doubt may erode our dreams and they die a painful death never having been birthed.

You’ve got to deal with the doubts.

The Reunion Debacle…

The family reunion

Was a disaster!

Aunt Biddy

And aunt Jemimah

Got into a huge squabble.

Uncle Pete threw a punch

Aunt Agatha spat like a cat

Lot’s of secrets

Were let out of the bag

Food flew in the air

The table broke

The chairs broke

I ran for cover.

As a cat dines…

I sat nearby and watched the stray eat morsels off the ground and lap up water from a broken pipe. I wondered who owned it, or if it’s a lone ranger with no owner.

Personal · Stream of Consciousness Saturday. · This Is My Life

How many times have I failed? Maybe 5,000 or more. I won’t give up!

No. (Number) That’s what Linda gave us for today’s Saturday stream of consciousness and I had to remind myself over a no. of times to get up and do it.SoCS badge 2015

Today, I have refused to do a good number of things except lie around and whine in my head. Taking a deep breath after the days almost gone, I haul my butt out to get it done.

It’s not a deliberate attitude not to do anything, except binge on food, but some deep lethargy that seems to have pervaded my mind for the past couple of weeks and this has made everything a drudgery.

I know the symptoms for I have experienced it over thousands of times and so many times when I allow the dragon out of its lair by letting the lethargy fester it never bodes well.

Over the thousand no. of times that I have allowed it take over, it dragged me down into its lair and turns me into a dragon myself. Everything that I am doing would give way for this sniveling, annoying, depressing monster who rears its ugly head when it wills.

It’s a good thing that I always have several bowls of prepared food in the fridge and freezer, so that way, my family don’t suffer on the days that lethargy seizes my bones.

Now that I’ve written, I feel better and can’t help wonder how many times I allowed it to beat me. Can I put a figure to the no. of times it got the better of me? I doubt if I can. However today, it’s not going to get my number anymore. Enough!

Finding resolutions to issue’s requires looking at them from different perspectives.

If a mind is fixated on a thought that rejects other angles of views, chances are that such a view will be skewed as well as myopic.

The mind of a thinking man is expandable beyond our imagination and only limited by the measure of our thinking.

The Marriage…Friday’s fiction in five sentences.

It was the perfect wedding. The sun had shone just at the right proportion. The storybook garden where they shared their vows was dreamy. Everything was as it should be. Sublime.

Yet Cecilia felt some restlessness in her spirit. Helmut is a perfect match. Mother loved him very much and approved of him. Even her picky friends liked him well enough. They considered him the dashing, wealthy European.

Their marital vows felt like a constriction to her vocal chords. She shook off the inner voice and focused on the sizzle. She loves Helmut, he’s a passionate lover and even as every cell in her body screamed ‘don’t‘ she said I do.

It didn’t take a long time for her to realize that the marriage was a huge mistake.

Helmut’s perceived candour turned to blunt cruelty. His passion became an obsession. He smothered her to death.

Midnight Motivation and Musings # 60…

1460607576893[1]

It’s often interesting how we keep putting off things that our heart is set on doing as we wait for the right time to arrive.

When is the right time? How do we identify it? Will it come knocking on our door to announce it’s arrival? Will it ever arrive?

Some say it’s when they’ve got enough money set aside, some say that they are waiting for the children to grow up and there are yet many more excuses.

The whole glaring truth is that there will never be the right time except we make it happen. Excuses will always be bountiful and they cost several dozens for nothing, however, the cost of using excuses can be quite expensive.

Let’s start seeking that right time today. Today is it.
