It’s often interesting how we keep putting off things that our heart is set on doing as we wait for the right time to arrive.
When is the right time? How do we identify it? Will it come knocking on our door to announce it’s arrival? Will it ever arrive?
Some say it’s when they’ve got enough money set aside, some say that they are waiting for the children to grow up and there are yet many more excuses.
The whole glaring truth is that there will never be the right time except we make it happen. Excuses will always be bountiful and they cost several dozens for nothing, however, the cost of using excuses can be quite expensive.
Let’s start seeking that right time today. Today is it.

Interesting! I just listened to a woman talk about how 98% of people will fail to achieve their dreams because of that one thing—excuses!

Wow 98%, that is a lot.

Wow! That’s really not a wonderful rating. A lot of people are just going through motions and getting by.

I use to listen to Anthony Robbins (I still do from time to time, but much less now) and he use to say that the human mind is conditioned to seek pleasure and avoid pain (we are hard wired that way). Sometimes however, overcoming/going through the pain is the only way to get to the long term pleasure. When I started thinking about this, it was so true and you can apply it in any area of your life. For example, many people find preparing and sticking to a budget painful, but if they can get past the “pain”, they will get long term financial freedom, the pleasure. Good post!!

I am loving this analogy and it’s simply the truth. No pain, no gain indeed.

Great post! If we wait for the perfect time, we would never accomplish anything. So the right time is always right now ☺

Yes indeed. The right time is always now.

This is so true. I think many times I’ve stalled because I didn’t know what, exactly, I wanted to do – and, it’s so much easier to figure out if you’re already moving in SOME direction. Thank you! 🙂

I agree. It becomes easier to figure out when we move in some direction.

I can relate. Procrastination should be my middle name lol. But you’re saying it’s time to take chances, will leap.

This is true. we can come up with all the excuses we want but what it boils down to is whether we are brave enough to take the first step and keep taking the next.

True indeed. One step after the other, one day at a time.

I think that the excuses we make are like a self defence mechanism. Each step we take is such a risk. It takes a lot of faith and trust to take the step. Sometimes to believe in yourself is a very difficult thing to do. So excuses are made to not take that risk at all. And a life is lived wondering, what if?

yet again you speak to the deepest level of the issue I am wrestling with. Sometimes it’s not about when to take that leap but where to do the leaping and how. Sometimes taking that chance doesn’t provide a clear path. That part is my current muddle. I want to take a chance; I just have no idea how to do it and still meet my obligations. It makes me wonder if there is a right time, place and situation.

I can read a lot of questions into your thoughts Mel. Obligations are really tough and can even get to be obstacles. Hopefully, one day, the spirit in you will speak clearly enough.

Hmm. How true! And if you notice, we procrastinate on our own dreams and are so wonderful when it comes to helping others achieve theirs. Thanks for sharing sis.
