What Kind Of Humans Have We Become…

Every time I scroll the streets of social media, one’s eyes and ears are flooded with gut-wrenching and horrifying news that befuddles the mind. Whether news from Nigeria, UK, South Africa, US etc. There’s always some gory story of man’s inhumanity to man, but in these cases, it’s mostly women that are the target and victims of predatory men.  Empathy is almost ziltch.
Self-serving Immediate gratification on all time high.

Bad, ugly behaviour abounds.
When seasoned old doctors, teachers, nurses, etc are gone what happens
Really, what kind of humans are we raising?
The girls are losing their items of clothing a few more inches each day.

Our lives can only be richer when we are at peace not only with ourselves but with our fellow man. This is simply common sense, yet it’s amazing at the amount of virulent diatribe that emanates from people these days. Social media sometimes turns into war zones and I wonder where and how people get so much energy for such negativity.

It really takes a whole lot more energy to hate than to love. Love is a natural expression which emanates from the abundance within and when it’s there, it’s just there.

…and it’s sometimes perplexing to think of how exhausted a mind that spends all its time being fueled on misery and negativity must be.

…And Manchester City gets the cake!

Champions league is always an exciting time for hard-core football fans. I can’t lay claims to being one. I am wishy-washy football person at the best.

My hubby and boys are more Arsenal inclined and my role is to cheer or moan along in solidarity with them.
However, I’ve got an ardent MAN CITY colleague whose enthusiasm is quite palpable and she ordered in a huge cake to celebrate their winning.

Who am I to say no to a sinfully sweet slice of chocolate cake in celebration of the Champion?

I am sure my hubby and boys will understand and not think me a traitor 😅

across the bridge…

as we laid
your body down
and you crossed the bridge

to the other side

the airy wind
blew it’s gentle breeze
around us, it flowed

to the other side

a lone tear
escaped my eyes
racing to my mouth

I had promised
that I would
stop crying

but the calmness
of the air
reminds of your gentle ways

when will we
see you again, if ever,
my heart is pained.

For you my dear friend – departed – I wish not to say. May your soul find rest after all the pain. May you know peace and may your wings continue to flap gently in the wind. I see your smile. Though we know that none of us will get out of here alive, that death is part of life, yet, its sting is never lessened.

Thought For Thursday…

Rivalry has some positive sides. It might energize and motivate you. However, it should never hold such power over you that it diverts you from your own path and individual strength in a blind pursuit of others.

Maybe, just maybe when you spend less time minding other people’s business and more time minding yours, you might actually have more peace and make more progress in your life ‘cos when you stay in your lane, there’s less traffic to contend with.

Just a Thought

If all parents claim to be great and the best parents, just where do their children learn all the ugly attitudes?

This recent video below left this thought on my mind. As a parent, I know that children may still end up doing what they want and exhibiting certain individual traits that would probably drive their parents crazy, I however strongly believe that nurture greatly shapes a child.

This lady is shaping her son to grow up as a racist. Apparently, his health is the least of her priorities since she chose racism over that.

Have a bite…Every day beautiful people #38

“If you knew what I know about the power of giving, you would not let a single meal pass without sharing it in some way.” BUDDHA

I enjoyed watching the lady take morsels from a tray and give the man standing in front of her whom I presume is her husband and a younger gentleman, possibly her son.

She reminded me of my mother and the lesson that when we share, we always have enough 🙂
