Tuesday Trickles – My thinking corner.

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple. You can check this link for more details.

Think of those things that are currently troubling you and write them down.

Don’t try to focus on immediate solutions; just focus on getting those thoughts out of your mind and onto a paper.

Close your writing, go and do something rejuvenating, like taking a walk, calling a friend and having a bit of laughter, whatever works for you.

Give it a day or two, then pick up what you wrote and read it.

You will observe that writing it down helped to declutter your mind.

Secondly, putting it in writing brings clarity and possibly simplifies the matter and finally reading it gives your mind an opportunity to look at possible solutions from a more mind-liberated position.

Some short words of wisdom are sent in by Deb. Do take a peek. You learn something new every day.

Be happy.

Rononvan's Weekly Haiku Challenge

Yay! Soon it will be beach time – Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge

Well, I must say that Ronovan’s prompt ‘beach & time,’ anticipates some good time in the near future with me. The weather over here has been sweltering, hopefully, we should see a turn to cooler climes in a few weeks.

Soon the weather will be cooler here
then we get to indulge,
and spend some time at the beach.

Book, beach bag, towels, ball, sunglasses & all,
we frolick in the sand
and it’s always a time well spent.

Urine Analysis. This is not a pissing contest.

PicsArt_09-06-08.21.08[1]

I saw this urine wall chart in a restroom and I’ve got my tongue in my cheek as I ask such a cheeky question; how is your piss?

One’s eyes may be the window to their soul, but the toilet bowl is certainly a window into your body.

The state of one’s piss (please bear with me and don’t laugh) has a lot to say about your health and let it not be said that you are piss poor. Here’s  an interesting article on the origin of the popular saying “piss poor.”

Hydrate some more today.

Eat Cake…

PicsArt_09-06-08.15.45[1]

I don’t like to make a cake of things
but, I so love to bake and eat cake
and possibly to have my cake and eat it too

I’m not as nutty as a fruitcake
but I so love nuts and helpings of fruitcake
with a smooth glass of Dubonnet

Life is not a piece of cake
but a slice of cake does make it sweeter
and delicious cakes finish so fast like hot cakes

Blueberry, cheese, chocolate, red velvet, vanilla cakes
you are free to name it all
I’m yet to meet a cake that didn’t like me.

Okay! I’m just being nutty 😉

Short Stories

To be a star…

She loved the expansive views from the apartment windows and always stood there to take it all in. A plush apartment in the heart of Manhattan was far beyond her dreams and some days MaryRose woke up expecting to find herself back in the country home where her family had lived for generations.

Eight months of living in the luxury apartment that came with her contract had not diminished her awe of the place and she always looked in amazement at the mega-rich stars who came to the penthouse in their helicopters and fast cars.

Inside, she was just a country girl who got lucky and often enough she felt like a bumpkin next to all the opulence around her.

A flash from a camera startled her. It was the infernal paparazzi in a helicopter and she was sure that the weekend tabloids would be carrying a scintillating headline “MaryRose bares it all.”

‘PLEASE KEEP SENDING IN THE LINKS.’

Today’s featured blogs posts are:

Levels of empathy: How much do you care? I enjoyed reading this thoughtful message and highly recommend it.

Love and empathy is infectious. When all around you there are people lifting others, giving help, educating and emitting love, to become a part of that is a natural and an amazing feeling.

The other side of the coin. To walk with blinkers on, insular and arrogant, judging and condemning is ultimately lazy, greedy and destructive to others and to themselves.  It takes true strength and character to practice empathy, to be kind and give love.

The answer to what is it and another guess: Did you get the earlier answer? Here’s another guess for you 🙂

30 day minimalism: This is such a smart idea and I suggest you take a peek. You might be interested in participating.

NCAA or solid waste management: An interesting analogy that echoes my thoughts. Maybe you might think differently.

Saw this lovely feet patterns made on the sand during my evening walk, but alas, I didn’t see the birdie that owned the steps. I guess she took her walk earlier 🙂

I wonder how much cover from the sun that the Bougainvillea shade offers to these two sitting under it?

It’s a blazing furnace out here.
