Midnight Musings and Motivations # 45…

1459322145970[1]

A lot of times, we have challenges that we face but lack the zeal to take them on.

Once our spirit to take them on is down, we find that the voice of pessimism and all the possible excuses will offer themselves on shiny platters for us to choose from.

However, the downturn to helping ourselves to the platter of excuses is that it’s often accompanied by a cane for self-flagellation and guilt, which will eventually show itself when the consequences of our actions or inactions dawn on us.

Sometimes, we need not have huge amounts of faith or courage.

Indeed,  a peanut-sized one will suffice, but if we can dig in our heels and get started with it, you find that the zeal and courage required to continue surfaces.

My Thinking Corner

Tuesdays Trickles…My Thinking Corner #15

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.

Each Tuesday, share your very short snippets of positive, inspiring, motivating, health, spiritual, writing advice, clips, posts etc, that can serve as a prop to motivate others and simply add my link to your post.

I call it my thinking corner because, I actually take out a bit of time just to think through things, encapsulate my thoughts as much as possible and detoxify my mind. It helps give me clarity of vision and might help you too.

It might work for you in a different way, but the idea is to get the positive thoughts flowing.

Please send in your little thoughts. You never know whose life you might inspire.

  • None of us is less than the first. Whoever decides for him or herself that they are unworthy to be so, has already  resigned to settle.
  • The day our lives begin to be ruled by the strictures of the fear of living is the day we begin to die even while alive.
  • Our achievements are akin to our love. They both require sacrifice from us.
  • Running water doesn’t stop when it meets a rock. It finds a way to drip through.
  • Without any vision, we wander aimlessly and would have no sense of direction. Always tune into your mind to seek for your vision and revisit as often as is required.

Our last week thinkers brought in dollops of good thoughts that I am totally loving 🙂

Words of wisdom If we all think the way Deb does, maybe there’s hope for humankind.

Kindred spirits ‘Let not differences divide us, let not hatred poison us, we are all one.’ Can you say it better than this?

Positive thoughts Here is what I have to say about this inspiring post ‘One thing that I love Annette is your candid expressions without coming across as arrogant. Who said that you can’t teach and old dog new tricks? Call out the person and I will prove him/her wrong. Beautiful post.’

Above from Rosema says it all in six short words.

A Writer’s World…

A Writer’s mind

Is a junk yard

A filigree lace of windows

For flights of fancy.

A convergence of different World’s

Where we create hero’s and villains

Real and surreal.

Weaving intricate webs of words

and evocative imagery’s

That transports the mind,

Through apertures, down rabbit and keyholes

Through the wide expanse of French windows,

Into the boggling meadows of other minds.

  • The measure of our riches is in how rich we are in spirit. There are no buts about it! If we are not rich in spirit, no amount of material wealth will satisfy.
  • In the pack of rat’s during the rat race, it’s easy to forget that the competition is against your own competency and not someone’s own. You have to find your speed and push to break your own records.
  • You have to become a friend to have one yourself. If you are prickly and unfriendly, then it goes without saying and shouldn’t be a surprise that you will find none willing to bear such consistent sour disposition.
  • The power of thinking big actually starts with the sensible act of starting small.
  • If we fail to use the seasons of our lives as we should, there will come a time when we are in the Winter of it and the questions the season will ask is what you did with the Summer of your life.

Our Thinkers Thoughts came in from:

Stressed reading, stressed writing These words from Rosema are so short, yet sweet and pack’s  good dose of inspiration.

Feeling encouraged sometimes, it all gets too much, but a kindle of encouragement gets you some good ways.

Annette’s I like this post so many times. The candid thoughts and willingness to look at oneself is the only way to grow.

Free Spirit a brilliant thought said in haiku.

Words of wisdom are words that are succinctly said and truly are full of wisdom.

Inspired series  are you staring your fear boldly in the face?

Thank you to all the contributors. May these words take roots in our lives and may our harvest be bountiful 🙂

‘So, when will you share those nuggets of wisdom of yours?’

Brevity…Thursday Trivia

1455730670807[1]

Sometimes,

The brevity of my words

Is not for lack of what to say

….But a reflection

Of the state of my mind

Where the invasion

Of dream-filled thoughts

That pervades them

Leaves me breathless

…..Unable and reluctant

To trap them in words.

So,

I let them float free.

When its Over, its Done With…

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Out of Reach.”

The past

Frankly speaking, as the days go by; which by the way is turning out to be one of my favourite statements, I have no regrets about Ex’s that have been left behind!

They came into my life at the point in time that they should have and we moved on at the juncture when the show was over and their time was up to move on. Not all relationships are meant to last forever even when they were absolutely delicious. Nothing in life has permanence!

In my opinion, no place is out of reach to travel to if you want to and set your mind to. It is all in one’s perspective! One place that I visited and stayed for a while and wanted to stay longer than I was entitled to was Geneva – Switzerland. I fell in love with that city; its mix of ancient and modern. No Swiss gentleman was forthcoming to sweep me off my feet and other things in life were beckoning to me, so I had to journey forth 🙂

I don’t believe in dwelling on a past that is out of reach and done with. Thus, I don’t bother looking back at things that are not in my ability to resolve. Minor skirmishes with loved ones, where I need to apologize and make amends, I do that as swiftly as possible and try to mend fences.

I would rather continue my transformation by expending positive energy in creating better moments in the NOW. Moments that would translate to a better tomorrow when it arrives!

Yesterday is gone!

Today is now!

Tomorrow does not lie in my hands and will take care of itself!

Live within the moment and live it in full!

The future

JUst the body to the VOice…

Why do I write you ask?

Well you see, it is because of the VOice.

The nagging voice in my head that just won’t keep quiet.

It conjures up tales, poems, thoughts and sometimes, annoying opinions.

It simply drags me ”The BOdy” along.

The VOice keeps screaming and shrieking; Let me out! Let me out! Let me out or else!….

What’s a BOdy to do?

I have to let VOice out or else!…..
