This Joyful Morning…

Walking, Meditating, Thinking, Reconnecting, Praise The Lord, Rejuvenating, Nature, Walk, In Spirit, Thankful

I walk with the gentle wind touching my skin, its crispness a delightful contrast to the heated breeze of weeks past,

with my face turned to the sun that glitters off the face of the waters like a thousand stars, I stare at the simpleness, the glorious beauty of everything.

The birds chirp away, cars zoom past mere meters away along the highway, and they seem to be in a different time zone,

the man with his clinking bicycle rides past whistling in tandem to the music in his mind and a barefoot man hurries past me, earthing himself and getting feet tanned, I chuckle to myself, it’s all good.

Full breaths of the briny fishy sea air I take in, my soul is grateful.
my low medidative instrumental shuffles on, no words yet the chords reach deep inside and curl themselves around my bones; they are soul food for a torn spirit; it gives me healing.

Help me to be a vessel of your peace Lord. Though my humanness gets in the way most times and makes me a poor example of your peace, those moments that I have inhaled and held your peace, I can’t even begin to explain the exquisite state that it leaves my senses – filled with the vibes that everything is going to be alright and yes, to the heart that believes, everything will be alright.

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Deadly Silence and Inner Demons – Writer’s Quote Prompt

Quote, Writing

Last week Oneta’s Writer’s quote and her beautiful story made me remember an old song that my mother sang a lot back in the days:

Why worry when you can pray
trust in Jesus and he will guide your way
don’t be a doubting Thomas
just place your trust in Jesus
why worry, worry, worry?

It’s such a simple song but anytime I am inundated with worry and struggling to have my way with certain things, it pops into my head prompting me to offer it up to God and I have learned that prayer is indeed the master key.

For this week’s prompt:

‘my writing is a struggle against inner demons. I use my words to paint my  thoughts and win the battle in the recesses of my mind.’ Jacqueline

We are continuing the same format here and that is: there are no rules to follow. Either make up your own sayings or use a quote from a famous author that you find gives you inspiration.

Each Thursday, we will post the prompt and all you have to do is participate!

Come and join in the fun.

To my child of promise…

Ikenna[1]

Your legs are stretching longer

each day extra inches are added

as you gallop out of cradle-hood

into the years of boyhood.

I marvel at the speed of time

so fast, you’ve already turned nine

tears prick my eyes in wistful thoughts

as I go back through the years.

Through the years of your babyhood

holding on to mama’s hands

you are always close

hugging and dogging her footsteps.

You, my greatest cheerleader

my fiercely protective one

my loving support

my son and my friend.

You are always quick to notice my looks

never failing to pay heartwarming compliments

“you look beautiful mama, the bestest mother ever,

I love you to the moon and back always,” and indeed you do.

My Chiemerigo – The Lord has won

you are a beautiful child through and through

a generous, kind soul and considerate one

your earnest eyes are eager to help me

and quick to forgive and apologize

My child of promise

you’ve promised me everything under the Sun

your words “I’ll always take care of you, mama,” which are older than your days, never fails to

make my heart expand in love and

makes me wonder at the wisdom bestowed to such a young one

May the arching rainbows of your life remain vivid and bright

may the Lord’s lamp remain at your feet and direct your steps.

His Grace and Mercy shall never depart from you

as you journey through life, the Lord will uphold you.

He will surround you and will remain your right hand.

To my Child of Promise,

your days are blessed.

Today as you turn nine, I give God all the glory.

Happy birthday my boy.

I love you to the moon and back, if not further.

Love, Mama

Saved….

‘Breathe.’ The doctor urged in quiet urgency.

He gently patted the little one on a body that was turning bluish.

How he hated to lose one of these little ones.

No matter how many times he took deliveries, the wonder of  childbirth  never failed to grip his heart.

This had been a particularly difficult birth and he prayed that the young mother will not come to, just to be told that her baby didn’t make it.

After several minutes of palpitating and held breath, the little one let out an annoyed squall.

Dr. Han’s eyes were pricked with tears. He knew such a satisfying moment.

Midnight Motivations and Musings #19…

1456384878115[1]

No matter how careful we are.

No matter how well we plan.

We never know what lies down the next bend on this journey of ours.

We never know what curve ball that is heading our way.

How deep we would be tossed into the cold waters

Oh how high into the winds it would flip us.

Nevertheless, in all these uncertainties

There are rudders and life buoys that helps us steer and keeps us afloat

These are the things that we must always hold on to in our life aid kit.

For day to day, we never know when we will need each of these things.
