Today’s featured blogs posts are:

Place I used to know: We should all indulge in this as often as we possibly can. Worth the while.

Introduce Yourself: There’s nothing like getting to know people in your circle a bit better. It builds a better sense of community.

Not for me the wives social circle: Quite an interesting read and this is my comment:

Yep! Getting on well with your life is the best way absolutely. You were and still remain an individual and in interesting one with or without a man. I would hate it if someone prefixes my identity with that of being with my husband. I am me and then we are we. Likewise, he is also first himself, before being my husband. I like how you’ve formed your own circle that best suits you.

Didgeridoo and the lady too: Never seen this instrument before. Interesting! I had to google it.

Please do step in and show some love.

CURIOSITY. “Millions saw the apple fall, but Newton asked why.” Bernard Baruch

Curious[1]

The desire to know arouses the interest of discovery. He kept peering closely at me as I fiddled with my camera, keeping me company for a lil’ bit while I explained what I was doing to him.

I told him that I was equally as curious as he is 🙂

P.S. You are invited to our monthly blog party this weekend. It’s fun and you get to meet fantastic folks:-)

Out of the silent breath

Mesmerize me with the harmonious flow of your words,

that drops from your pale glossy lips.

That I may drink in each syllable,

to nourish and satisfy the deep yearn within.

Office and the Zabeel park…Echoes of my neighbourhood # 20

On Thursday’s, I share pictures about ‘Echos of my Neighbourhood.

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.

Every Thursday, share a photo of bits and pieces of wherever you are at any point in time. It could be a house, backgrounds of your neighbourhood, activities and so forth and you can tag it Echos of my Neighbourhood, add my link to your post so that I will get the ping from your post.

Every other Thursday, I will publish a post with the links of all those who participated the previous week.

This is just a fun way of getting to see more of the World around us through your eyes since we cannot all be at those places, we could, at least, see them through you.

These days the eye of the Sun rises sharply around 5.am over here and by mid-day, it’s steaming hot. Alas, my days of weekend park forays will be cut a little short :/

We managed to sneak in a park visit last week, spent some time at the lovely library, played football, ate our sandwiches and ice-cream and generally lounged till it got too hot and we left for home.

We also met a kind lady who came to feed the kittens. Felt like adding a little piece of where I spend some good part of my working week.

We sat in our homes and travelled to many exotics locations. Hop on let’s go and see😉

Saying thanks: Lady Lee shows us great pieces, delicious platters and shares snippets of a wedding in London. I hope she’ll give us a peek to her trip when she returns 🙂

A lady of many talents Compelling pieces of artwork from Kat Myrman herself. She’s one bundle of a talented lady 🙂

Giggles and Tales: Absolutely gorgeous bits of Denmark. If I can climb into a picture, I would.

The village: When I say this village is enchanting, I mean total enchantment. I felt like I was reading my childhood books by Enid Blyton and those sweet romance of Barbara Cartland 😉

Thoughts and entanglements My children would totally love this place. Skateboards, calmness and crickets…

Now, don’t horde the beauty of life around you, just for yourself. Do share with us 😉

“A camera is a save button for the mind’s eye.” Roger Kingston

“Photography takes an instant out of time, altering life by holding it still.” Dorothea Lange

Camera[1]

There are many of us wearing our camera’s around the neck these days 🙂

Sometimes, I feel as if something is wrong with my dressing on the days that my little Canon is not slung around my neck…

I’m holding out hope for a bigger accessory…DSLR 😉

Out of the silent breath

Enchant me with your expressive eyes,

that crinkles in laughter as you speak,

that I may find myself ever caught between

the reflections of your pupils and there shall I remain.

Breakfast is served! Good morning, This morning.

Breakfast

I am trying to switch up my nutrition pattern.

Toss out some stuff and replace them with better things.

What’s on my plate this morning?

  • Eggs and vegetable omelette
  • Plain yoghurt with a handful of almonds and raisins.
  • A cup of green tea and mint.

Be kind to yourself this weekend.

If you’ve got a weekend recipe for us, please do share 😊

As a cat dines…

I sat nearby and watched the stray eat morsels off the ground and lap up water from a broken pipe. I wondered who owned it, or if it’s a lone ranger with no owner.

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 56

1460266444324[1]

Planting a seed is a risk.

We are not sure that it will grow.

We are not sure that it will not be a diseased crop.

We are not sure some wild creature will not attack it when we are not looking.

Nonetheless, we have to plant those seeds that we have in our hands. Chances are, that a good number will grow and ripen for harvest.

We must take the time to till our ground, plant, and water and be patient for the God of Harvest to increase our bounty. Except we plant, he has nothing to work on.

My Relaxing Indulgence…The great book of lists.

My reads of the moment
My reads of the moment

For this week’s Great book of lists, we get to outline our hobbies. Through the years, my hobbies have changed a bit. A lot have been dropped by the wayside due to push and pull factor of life. Some exigencies and recent moves found some things falling into the crack of lifes pavement.

However, there are some hobbies that have grown to become an intrinsic part of me:

  1. I love to read and I read to live. As far back as my conscious mind can recall, I have been in love with the lettered word. Even as a child, I would spend my pocket change on a book instead of something else. I read voraciously. As an adult, I indulge in a book, two or more in any given month. Reading is my sleeping pill. After the day’s hustle, I settle my nerves down with a book and if the book is a compulsive read, I might read far into the night or toddle off to sleep as I read.
  2. Writing. This is my way of thinking. I think through my fingers. Even before I ever started blogging which is just 11 months ago, I journalled every day.
  3. Doodling. I sketch. I really don’t know how it works but sketching relaxes me. I just doodle whatever comes to my mind. Sometimes, they turn out very nicely.

    The Running Man

  4. Can people watching be classified as a hobby?
  5. Taking photographs. I have thousands of random photos taken over time. I hope to find time to take professional lessons. It’s a hobby with a lot of potentials.
  6. Dancing. It makes me very happy. I dance just for the sake of it. No celebration required. I get a shake of a leg in virtually every day. Somewhere, some how, I find my ten minutes of wiggle the waist 🙂
  7. My daily me time gives me a little room to flex my mind, to tone down and just exhale. I could spend my me time just being quiet, or taking a walk and soaking in the things around me.

There are some hobbies that I miss doing, like crocheting, playing the piano, pottery making and sewing. I don’t know if it’s that the zeal has waned or due to time squeeze. I guess I can use the excuse of not having a piano here in Dubai to console myself.
