Midnight Motivations and Musings # 40

The above quote can be likened to an ailing patient who buys all the drugs and keeps them locked in a cupboard for safe-keeping :/

Of course, the patient will remain sick.

Change can only come about when it’s applied and not from wishful thinking.

Change is a deliberate decision, backed up with actions that over time and practice becomes a character trait.

Some are afraid of trying for change because of the fear of failure, which is a worse scenario.

It’s better to try and repeat over and over, than to sit in the same situation through a lifetime. What a waste that would be!

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 33

When all we do is to talk and we don’t do, it then becomes Cock and Bull story.

Our reflections and introspection must try to match our conducts for any meaningful change to occur and this applies to every aspect of our lives that requires change and growth.

Some might say ‘oh yes, it’s in the plan, tomorrow I will do it,’ yet five years down the line, their tomorrow is still waiting to arrive.

The future belongs to all those who embrace constant growth transformation and exploring its directions.

Your future does not know waiting because the future is right now as we  speak.

Inaction builds nothing, ever!

Even if it seems the safe route to take at the beginning, it ends up being the route to nowhere.

The truth is that in taking a bold step, making mistakes along the way helps us to combat fear and builds our confidence, while inaction to step out fosters the terror and fear that grips our minds and paralyzes our mind and eventually erodes any confidence or zest that we may have had.

There are many routes that leads up the mountain top and we must take one to climb it. We cannot stay at the foot of the hill and dream about the view from up.

Midnight Motivations and Musings… 25

We over plan for tomorrow, yet today has been left with so many gaps unfilled.

How do you guarantee that you have tomorrow at hand?

Did you use your today to the best of it’s ability? Note that I said, ‘it’s ability, not your ability.’

Remember that each day that passes is forever lost to us.

Therefore, in all that you do; work, play, rest, love, care, share and the rest of things humans do, do it to the best of your ability and the full capacity of your day.

Our lives are only worth what we make of it and it’s not the length of one’s days that really matter, but the depth of how they lived.

Midnight Motivations and Musings 22…

1456855202228

There are those who are experts in finding every feasible excuse under this side of the planet why something cannot be achieved, meanwhile the solution to achieving the goal is just as plain as the day and right before their nose.

They build their pessimistic mountains out of molehills and nothing ever gets done around them, due to the long chain of all the bad things that could go wrong if they ventured to take a risk.

So, they never venture. They cower in a corner and try to discourage those who dare to venture.

Life in itself is a risk. From the day you were born it is a risk, until the day you die.

It’s either you live as fully as you can or you die having never lived.

Midnight Motivation And Musings #18

There are times when we are inadvertently hit by blows that destiny sends our way. Blows that we may never have been in a position to deflect, but one thing is that we can choose our attitude towards how the rest of our lives continues after these experiences.

Are we going to be stuck on the ‘Woe is me junction?’ Filled with bitterness and the bile of it all?

What purpose will that serve? None! Except building up the bile and angst, which is dangerous for our wellness and state of being.

Now, there are also incidents and hurts inflicted on us by others and we bear grudges the size of a mountain for them.

That’s giving someone rent free space in your head. Space that could be used for better things than dwelling on bitterness that takes us nowhere.

Forgiving them does not mean that you have forgotten the lesson learnt from the bitter experience, but it’s a way of setting yourself free.

Allowing these bitterness to dictate your life means that you will always remain in the victim mindset loop.

Cut yourself loose. Whatever it will take to get your life back, talk about it, cry about it, write about it, pray about it…..

….Set your heart free and get your life back.

Why Sweat It?…

1452317274242[1]

Naturally, like every erring human I have had many moments of taking the wrong turn in my life and making the wrong decisions over big and small things, such as eating that extra slice of pie, over spending and buying something that wasn’t really important, saying something that I shouldn’t have said, letting an opportunity pass by etc.

It’s all about choices and at each point in time, good or bad, we made choices that we felt were the best for us at that point in time.

Since some of these are not things that we can rewind the hands of time to change – the way forward would be to assimilate lessons from the experience, leave sweating it and move on.

Change the things that are within your power to change and leave those that you can’t regurgitate back.

Living in the Land of Regrets is truly waste of one’s reserve energy and time.

I leave you with these quotes to ruminate over:

  • ‘Make it a rule of life never to regret and never to look back. Regret is an appalling waste of energy; you cannot build on it; it’s only good for wallowing in.’ Katherine Mansfield.
  • ‘You mess up sometimes, don’t regret your mistakes, fix them and you will learn from it.’ Stanisha Wray
  • ‘It’s never too late to be who you might have been.’ George Elliot

My Roller-Coaster….personal story

1445969528790

Life is a constant flux of change and naturally as all humans are prone to, mine has evolved in little and huge ways.

My cycles have gone through mountain peaks and deep valleys, through Tropics and Savannah and each evolution has contributed to my story; to my growth in personality and maturity of mind; to the pathway of better understanding of myself as a complete entity.

Some changes have been premeditated while some, were thrust on me by Providence, but the most important aspect of these changes has been the strengthening of my inner mental core, resilience and spiritual walk.

For close to two decades, I have gone from a care-free single, all career guns blazing young lady to become a wife and proud mother. From formal employment, to part-time/voluntary service and self-employment/entrepreneurship.

In this space of time, I have migrated within 3 different Continents and when you are talking about leaving; I just left Texas to United Arab Emirates a couple of moons ago!

It has been a major shift especially in culture mentality. I am still in the bid of catching my breath even though I know that my sojourn in this place will not tarry for too long.

The challenges that such changes predisposes you to, which goes beyond leaving your comfort zone and familiar grounds to places of new beginnings are numerous, that the experience alone can constitute a book.

However, the trick in handling these things, is to keep a very broad and positive mind. Make a concerted effort to have a positively motivated outlook and become a sponge that soaks in all the good vibes around you.

That way, you will acquire the best experience that your life is teaching you at that point in time.

I am presently focusing on self-development and as I continue to transform, my hope is to cascade my support outwards to others and also to persevere in my efforts as a writer.

In response to The Daily Post prompt If You Leave

Life is a series of beginnings and endings. We leave one job to start another; we quit cities, countries, or continents for a fresh start; we leave lovers and begin new relationships. What was the last thing you contemplated leaving? What were the pros and cons? Have you made up your mind? What will you choose?

Your eyes…Your ears…Your heart…

Eyes-Beauty of the soul

Feed your eyes with the right things, they are a door to your inner self.

Open your ears and listen well to ethical things,

Lest your mind becomes consumed by issues that don’t edify

Renew your heart so that your transformation comes from within to without.

Use your lips for utterances that speak for truth.

If you can do these little bits

You just might see those changes that you wish to see in the World.mindset quote

I testify…Beautiful People, Better World.

Sometimes in our consistent flow through life, we meet people who for a brief moment in time leave positive indelible marks on our hearts, minds and in our life and though that moment was not long enough to savor a deeper union, they forever occupy a special place of treasure.

Such people make you feel warm in their presence because of the warmth they radiate themselves.

I met such women.

I met the Texas Multicultural Women.

These are Ordinary people aiming for Extraordinary results.

They are Agents and Catalysts of positive change.

These group of dynamic, professional women, from all walks of life and different nationalities give freely of their time; they lend their ears and give their wisdom; they give freely from their pockets, helping to lift others along the way.

They are embodiments of beautiful minds and souls.

Are you in Houston, Texas or will you be sojourning in these neck of the woods in the near future?

For some of us who have experienced relocating from one city to the other without having it all figured out, it is always a welcome relief to  meet helping hands and smiling faces.

They are your reliable go-to group over here from challenges associated with relocation such as real estate, medical, insurance, scholarship, volunteering, life coaching, PR and so much more.

To Texas Multicultural Women, as I take a brief hiatus away from this axis, I pray that the coast of this group will be expanded beyond foreseeable horizons. Once a Texas Multicultural Woman, always a Texas multicultural woman.

Let us reach out and touch, and make this World a better place one person at a time.
