The above quote can be likened to an ailing patient who buys all the drugs and keeps them locked in a cupboard for safe-keeping
Of course, the patient will remain sick.
Change can only come about when it’s applied and not from wishful thinking.
Change is a deliberate decision, backed up with actions that over time and practice becomes a character trait.
Some are afraid of trying for change because of the fear of failure, which is a worse scenario.
It’s better to try and repeat over and over, than to sit in the same situation through a lifetime. What a waste that would be!

That’s for sure! It’s like reading a bunch of books about writing, and searching for more ‘how to write’ books, instead of staying home and….writing!

Fabulous post. Change without inner action is futile

Very well said, Jacque. I used to be the kind of patient who buys the medicine but keeps it locked up in the medicine chest. But slowly yet steadily I’m learning to take the medicine out and use it.

It’s better that way otherwise we will remain in one spot. Well done and thank you 🙂

Oh you are so right Jackie. We are not going to become overnight what the self-improvement books teach us…but we will never become if we don’t try!! That self-improvement book that I posted last Friday, I listen to it every day and I bought so that I could read it at any time…it will take months to learn all the wonderful keys it has to offer, but that’s part of the fun and magical journey to improving yourself! Love this…wishing you and your family a very Happy Easter!! xo

Thanks my dear Deb. The good thing about having an open mind is that it prepares room for real change. Have a beautiful Easter season and be blessed 🙂

Oh this is such a true post dear Jacqueline. It reminds me of what I currently have tacked to my wall.
“Finally, one just has to shut up, sit down, and write.”
Natalie Goldberg
But I do believe that all the gathering, reading, and embracing of the self help offerings and industry does indicate a very real intent and is a good safe space to pause, until the strength is present to take the step forward to action.
Such an excellent post. Thank you.

I completely agree with this and I absolutely like this quote. A good wake up note that glares one in the face ever so often. Thank you 🙂

I must agree with Johanna, although the application may not happen immediately even being open to the ideas is a force for change that may eventually happen. Some of us fall down an alarming number of times before we finally stand up and walk the talk.

Tell me again about the falling part dear Bernadette. I found out that most people who teach are those whose knees have been scraped over so many falls. Thank you very much 🙂

Those who never make changes for the better are the most peculiar kinds of people to me. I don’t quite understand why some get stuck and never attempt to find a way out. Or if they do find a way, they give up after awhile. What’s the point?

They simply enjoy being a drag to themselves and others. Beats me too
