‘There’s nothing as liberating as getting to that point of knowing who you are and who you want to be. It’s only when you embrace yourself in entirety, from the frayed edges to the smooth lines, then and only then, can you aspire to be the best that you can be.’ Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha

Crossing Phew! The suspense in Mel’s book ‘Curse Breaker’ keeps my brain wired and my butt on the edge of my seat. A little excerpt and I quote below:

Silence fell like a knife. It cut the remaining cord between Sarn and the world beyond the blindfold leaving him deaf. He halted on the gravel path between the dual rings of menhirs and this time Nolo did not urge him to continue. The Ranger maintained his grip but did not pull on his arm.

“What is it? Why did you stop?” Nolo hissed unwilling to raise his voice in this eerie place between forest and meadow.

Today’s featured blogs are:

Pranabaxom I enjoy reading Pranabaxom’s written words. An excerpt of the about page reads ‘I open my mind to the world.  Like the weather, sometimes my poems are cloudy, sometimes stormy.  I always like to see sunshine streaming through the leaves of trees, so I hope I can share some of this sunshine with my readers.’ Go check it out.

I am: I could like this poem so many times over. It speaks to you and gives you joy. Do check it out.

Lightheaded:  let me introduce you to Nancy Thorton whose journey of creating a new life after retiring has become an exciting one at 8,200 feet. In her words: ‘I’ve made a life for myself with words. from the first poem I penned in second grade about puppies to selling some of the  world’s most comfortable shoes.  through all those years I had teachers, editors, account people, clients even clients’ wives telling me how to make my copy better. and on occasion they were right.’

Tell Me:  ‘Blindfolded, Sarn could see nothing except the perpetual green glow of his eyes since their light was also trapped inside that light-tight fabric strip.

Yesterday, my son had a surprise for me and they made me cover my eyes and walk while he held my hand. I liked the idea of the surprise but didn’t quite trust that I wouldn’t hit my head before getting there.

Now, I can imagine how Sarn must have felt and in his own case, his life was endangered. Melinda keeps weaving a thick, suspenseful plot.

The miracle of friendship…

The miracle of friendship happens in great ways even though they may seem small. When we speak to others, we have no idea how much life our words carry and mean. This post is the best that I have read today. It was least expected that I should see my name in a post such as this and not only am I humbled by Darrel’s words, but I am humbled to think that my words can make a difference enough for this lovely person to count me as a worthy friend.
Depression is an ailment that is not too well understood and it is a silent killer. It’s never an easy burden to bear on those who suffer from it.

spartacus2030's avatarMy Opinionsville

I started out wanting to write a blog about depression, as well as this one, concerning how I feel about my friends in the blogging community
The two seemed to be intertwined in my mind, which was confusing me about what to say, and when.  So I’ll begin with the most important.  It’s not the volume of friends that I have here that matters to me, it’s the miraculous advancements in my writing, I couldn’t possibly achieve without them!  They are the reason I can hang in, while my depression always says that I can’t!  That would be next to impossible in and of itself
So you see?  A few loyal friends is way heavier than a multitude of fair weather friends who desert you when you’re at a low point in your live; just the time when you need your friends the most!

They have done more than keep
