Every day beautiful people # 12 ….

‘Human beings are born with the instinct to express themselves through movement. Even before he could communicate with words, primitive man was dancing to the beat of his own heart.’ Ben Fosse

As ordinary as it seems, I enjoy watching people go about their days affairs. It’s always an enriching experience.

Lifestyle · My Thinking Corner

Tuesdays Trickles….My Thinking Corner // 16.

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.

Each Tuesday, share your very short snippets of positive, inspiring, motivating, health, spiritual, writing advice, clips, posts etc, that can serve as a prop to motivate others and simply add my link to your post.

I call it my thinking corner because, I actually take out a bit of time just to think through things, encapsulate my thoughts as much as possible and detoxify my mind. It helps give me clarity of vision and might help you too.

It might work for you in a different way, but the idea is to get the positive thoughts flowing.

Please send in your little thoughts. You never know whose life you might inspire.

Quote

  • To have a gift without putting it to work is as good as having none.
  • Between your trying and your triumph, you have the ‘umph’ waiting to be heard.
  • Opportunity is a flippant bird that flies off too fast, but temptation can be an albatross leaning on your doorbell with all its might, thus you must be quick to hold on to opportunity and slow in opening your door to temptation.
  • Your enemy can’t lure you to commit evil that you didn’t sign up for in your mind.
  • Your journey here on earth is to enrich it with your essence. How are you doing in your assignment?

I enjoyed the thoughts sent in by some rich thinkers. Look in and see. You might be inspired to share your thoughts.

Today’s Nuggets Stella’s snippets are full of enriching advice. ‘There’s always a way.’ All you’ve got to do is to look for it.

Tuesdays Thoughts Dupe’s short snippet is not only deep but calls for you to take an inner look at yourself. What do you see?

Tuesdays Trickles Do you still have your common sense with you, or has it gone with the wind?

Never Surrender Are you failing forward, or sitting in the dump?

Positive Choices Annettes’ post gives me serious pause to thought. WHAT are your choices? In her words and I quote below:

I need to share with you the fact that I am going through some trials right now. I have turned things over to the God of my understanding. This is new to me the FAITH thing. Never really thought about prayer or something bigger than myself.

‘May our reflections serve us well and bring about transformation that transcends beyond us and our peripheries.’

Thank you to all thinking contributors.

Jacqueline

P.S. Please let me know if your link is missing. There are some contributors that I can’t find their pingbacks. I think it’s better to always pingback to the most recent post of Thinking Corner.

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 50…

Plan

Tomorrow is really not guaranteed any of us and that which we can do today no matter how little it is, is better done and when the following day comes, we do a bit more.

Experience has personally taught me lessons on how we rob ourselves through over-planning, procrastination and assumptions.

The future belongs only to those who live fully in their moments and take charge of each day as it comes.

We all know that the building blocks of a huge monument start with laying its base foundational stones.

So when you don’t put today’s stones in place, how exactly do you  plan to get to the tip of that pinnacle?

Like my people would say back home ‘it’s the firewood that you gather during the dry season, that you will use during the rainy season.

When you take care of today’s plans, tomorrow’s plan will take care of itself.

Midnight Motivations and Musings 47…

What can I say? I have met some people who have fallen out and ended years of good relationship due to a difference in opinions that are sometimes insignificant.

I have witnessed heated and virulent arguments, even online where people degenerate far down to abusive vitriol when someone dares to disagree with their point of view and the question that always cross my mind is to wonder what kind of background the name-calling, combative person has?

If a person can’t get his/her point across in a clear, concise manner without the entire discussion degenerating into a World-war, then they should not bother getting into discussions at all.

Getting all heated up over issues that can either be by-passed or discussed like responsible humans is a no brainer. No one should waste their time on such non-productive ventures.

Opinions are what they are. Even if you are right, the other person reserves the right to disagree with you and your ability to handle the disagreement is where the maturity lies.

I have witnessed where people are brought around to a different line of thinking by the presentation of clear, unambiguous and empirical evidence.

Points of view are two-ways or even in some instances a multi-faceted traffic and as much as you like your voice heard, it’s possible the other person does so as well.

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 46

1459417777747[1]

Ever since I made up my mind to let go of dwelling on non-essentials that didn’t further my existence and probably only contributed to making a miserable day, I found more peace.

Ever since I chose to make conscious, deliberate efforts to apply positive affirmations and frame of mind to my days, it only got better.

Yes, it is possible to live a purpose-driven life.

Yes, happiness is a deliberate choice.

Yes, each day can be as best as we can make it all things being equal.

Of course there are things that are out of our control, like nature and other people’s actions, but we run our own workshop of our minds and home.

Indeed, there are days that are a bit off, but, I’ve observed that once you get into the habit of positive thoughts and living, such moods and days barely last because your mind fights to switch to the frame that works best for it.

Your days are as good as you make them. Be happy not by trying to convince others, but by being yourself and the best that you can be.

Getting the edges aligned. ..

Today’s photo 101 prompt has been my least favourite so far. Not quite sure why, except that I really don’t like tweaking pictures around and altering them so much, so I had to really search hard for pictures.

I always prefer things looking as natural as possible, except where unavoidable, and I am glad that I didn’t have to manipulate these ones asides from giving them an edge 🙂

Keeping It REAL…Streams of consciousness Saturday.

It’s been a real struggle trying to resist joining a whole lot of challenges that I see flying around the blogosphere.

They always sound absolutely interesting that a tiny voice in me keeps nudging me to do more. My reluctance stems from the real knowledge and fair idea what getting involved would mean in real-time for me. MORE OF MY TIME.SoCS badge 2015

I honestly don’t know how not to give a 100% and over when I am doing something.

I like to be that dependable. When I do less, I gain no real satisfaction and feel as if I am slacking off and letting something down.

I know these are good ways of connecting with others as well as practicing new techniques especially since I advise people to push the boundaries of their comfort.

Ruminating over it, I said to myself, Jacqueline my dear girl, you can’t seem to resist the bait of A-Z and more. Maybe, you should just take a little nibble and shelve something else. Hmm! REAL tussle in the mind. So what do you think?

Now, to get to some real talk on this post of mine.

It’s really been occupying space in my mind of late and each day the question grows.

We writers write for refined, elevated and so many other reasons. A writer will primarily tell you that they write for the love of it and not for the money. Sometimes, it does seem to me that we fail to calculate the real worth of our writing simply because the words flow easily from our minds to the tips of our pens and my wondering is that there might be need for a paradigm shift in this sort of thinking.

When you think about it, that passion for writing that we have, is been paid for with our time and other odd jobs. Won’t it be lovely if we shed other odd jobs and earned decent Ka-ching from our blogging, writing efforts?

I love writing. I love arty things. It’s beyond a passion for me and it’s not an alternative. It’s a compulsory pull.

I am trying to make conscientious effort to explore honest means of earning real cash from my endeavours. That’s the bottom line and it doesn’t make me less a writer to want to earn from the sweat of my fingers.

To live the lifestyle that I want without being enslaved to anybody, it has to work.

My conscientious effort requires reading more, researching more, learning more, having the courage to jump out of the window and all that. All these things will take some real good chunk of my time. There are no hard and fast rules to them.

I am however convinced that with dogged determination, hitting some pay; I am not sure about the dirt part, will really sweeten the pot.

Well there it is. Thank you Linda for today’s prompt word ‘real.’ It’s made me to dwell a little bit more on an issue that’s been running around in my head.

It’s sad and amusing at the same time when people come across with the perception that good fortune comes from luck.

That is absolutely balderdash and misleading. Good fortune has to find you working on it.

Yes, indeed there are those who have been beneficiary’s of fortune that they’ve not necessarily worked for, by virtue of birth or winning a lottery, but the ratio is so insignificant for anyone to fold their hands and expect lady luck to come smiling with shiny teeth.

Remember the saying that ‘HEAVEN helps those who help themselves.

When you take those necessary steps each day, things align and the windows of possibilities keeps opening up.
