Do step in and show some love.

Fountains: there’s something soothing about fountains or even listening to running water.

The brave but silent: silence carries strength and wields a swift blow that words can’t achieve. A short, tight and interesting read.

Woman of worth: an uplifting and well written post of self value. We should teach the younger generation this so that they come to a place of realization early enough.

The back of a postage stamp: a delightful poem from Oneta that sets me thinking. What will the younger one’s write as their memories of the postage stamp? Do they even know what a stamp is :/

Close to your heart: beautiful poem filled with age old wisdom from Joan.

The Warlord: sometimes, the price paid for being a hero is far reaching beyond the naked eyes of those ululating.

Perfect: Hmm! This set me thinking indeed. I hope that I’m not this type of parent who wants to love the children the way they are if only they are perfect. That must be tough to be perfect.

Assumed conversation – Every day beautiful people 78

“A conversation is so much more than words: a conversation is eyes, smiles, the silences between the words.” Annika Thor

Can you tell a story from the picture?

Well, here’s my own narration. I enjoy having such little fun 🙂

The imagined conversation. Watch their hand movement:

1st photo – Man in white thobe:Habib, you told me to go there and I did!

2nd photo – I saw nothing.

3rd photo – you misled me, why?

1st photo – Man in shorts kept quiet

2nd photo – still quiet but smiling.

3rd photo – my friend, I didn’t mislead you. I have no idea what happened there.

So, what do you see?

Just hold on – Writers quote Wednesday challenge.

Love[1]

I believe and have faith in love
for in it lies immeasurable strength
Even on day’s when my faith in humanity
diminishes to micro pieces
that it won’t even match a mustard seed
On such days, I look up to the heavens
and facing the sky
I let the shadows fall behind.

There are moments when faith
is all that have
to propel me forward and hold me upright
On such days, I clasp my thin flicker of faith
like a loving companion and cloak
and allow its strength to seep into me
till my hope rises again.

There are moments
when the future might look bleak to us
when so much seems to be going wrong
in such moments
we turn to faith in hope
that the future will look brighter
if only we can hold on.

Faith includes noticing the mess, the emptiness and discomfort, and letting it be there until some light returns – Anne Lamott

Faith does not make things easy, but makes them possible – Luke 1:37

Writing this week’s prompt ‘Faith’ for WQWWC after days of minds battered with all that’s happening around us is a welcome reprieve even though it’s a hard topic. A hard topic to write on when it’s seems as though the World is momentarily going berserk and my faith in humanity dwindles.

Then again, if we completely lose our faith, then all hope is truly lost and we’ll find ourselves living in a World that’s not only pessimistic and negative, but will become a highly toxic World.

So, I’ll hold onto my flicker of faith that love will always win and my faith comes from above.

The Daily Post

When they put up the fences…

When they put up the fences
may our feet be as fleet as gazelle
that we outrun their barbed enclaves
may our wings spread wide
that we soar high to tips of the highest trees
breaching the boundaries of caged birds
whose wings are clipped
but their voices continue to sing.

When they put up the fences
will they stay rested behind their glass towers
or will they venture to other people’s poor spaces
and plant their feet in arrogant superiority
whilst they tear the owners asunder?
Forgetting that he who brings an insect infested log into his abode
invites the lizard to feast
and may not have rest.

When they put up their fences
tell me
Would that really make any sense?
What manner of divisions shall we see?
Would that really be a worthwhile defense?
or will it trigger room for more offense?
When they put up their fences,
then what? I’m in suspense.

Gratitude

Balance in the midst of chaos – my thoughts and thanks.

Do I have all the answers? No, I don’t and I guess no one else does. Each week we wake up to stuff that sends us on a tailspin of holding our breaths, pensive thoughts etc, but I’ve learnt and learning each day to hold on to the still peace within me even when the sails of my ship are battered in the wind and my candid advice to anyone would be to hold on to their sanity in the midst of chaos and be thankful for life.Harmony, Relax, Rock, Moqui, Stone

I woke up yesterday with a hot, scratchy throat, heavy head and stuffy nose and I knew that finally the cold that I had tried to outrun had caught up with me. I went in briefly to work, did two miserly posts for my blog and shut down all gadgets to take a long nap and I woke up later still croaky and groggy but thankful for the rest.

It’s been some tedious weeks of school activities, work, writing a book, blogging, networking and living life in a hyper-stressful World. However, I realize that fretting over these things serves no purpose other than to make one feel more stressed about them so I always try to break my thoughts and to-do’s into bits and pieces to get them balanced and done. I achieve far more when I do that and I’m also able to eliminate chaff that doesn’t fit in anywhere.

The hours spent yesterday shutting off all negative noise from TV and internet allowed my brain to rest and wake up rejuvenated. I am totally thankful that the kids will vacate tomorrow for 2 solid months of Summer holidays…bliss 🙂

I may not have all the answers to today’s troubles in our present World, but I have my thanks and gratitude to a simple life and a loving family.

Be thankful

Jacqueline

I can’t say it enough, there’s nothing as interesting as observing people. You wonder who they are, where they are going, what’s their story etc.

In a microcosm such as the airport, the train, the buses, the malls, anywhere you can find a throng of people, it’s quite informative what you learn about someone just by looking.

Are they fussy, tantrum throwers, are the fidgety, composed, smiling, frowning?…. It’s a free movie!
