Midnight Motivations and Musings # 77

1462806550816[1]

We spend valuable time waiting for the best opportunities, the best time, the best scenario and creating a million and one reasons why we are unqualified to create our own opportunities.

What if that expected opportunity never comes our way? What if no one else believes in us sufficiently to want to hand us such chances?

What would you do? Will you just curl up and watch the time pass or would you take a good look around you and see the little openings that surround you?

Like the saying goes, that opportunity comes but once, however, it has to find you willing and ready.

Below is my first just published Poetry Book “Out of the silent breath” which is available on Amazon and Smashwords.

When you buy my book, you support me in an invaluable manner.

Out of the silent breath

Dance to your heart’s delight my African child, until echoes of your stamping feet, beating heart; bright eyes, smiling lips; and waving hands, resonates over and over like thunder claps, reverberating throughout the Universe.

Potato spuds…Mundane Monday

Mundane Monday Challenge is created to find beauty in almost everything.

The challenge is simple : find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs.

Potatoes[1]

I bought sweet potatoes for my three days menu plan, by the time I got to use it, it had started sprouting.

That gave me a little pause to dwell on the life cycle of a plant, or the potato as the case may be.

Life does not need us to happen all by itself.

The potato showed signs of not minding being replanted to yield more harvest.

Are you replanting something?

Midnight Motivations and Musings 21…

1456774489154Procrastination and evasion deprives us of so much and over time, when we weigh the time wasted debating on whether or not we should take a step, it accumulates to a tidy part of a lifetime.

Procrastination leaves us with so many, what if’s, had I known and should have’s which can be avoided, when we conscientiously take daily steps in living more purposeful and intentional lives.

We not super-human and are bound to falter now and again, but when our focus is targeted and meticulous, a falter will not send us completely off track.

In tying in evasiveness and forgiveness or kindness, some are far willing to cut the entire slack for themselves and granting every excuse under the Sun as lee-ways to dilly-dally, while they use an iron fist of expectation on others.

To lead, or impact on others, you must, yourself be an example worth emulating.

Zooming By Through The Years….

1456418842941[1]

There are really some days that I wish that time is not an intangible object, but something that could be adjusted to fit one’s purpose through the years.

There are days that my to do list is as tall as my 5 ft 11″ if not taller and there is insufficient time to get it all done in one day. There is so much to do and so little time.

Sometimes I sincerely wish that these years will go at a snail pace, so that I will have enough time to savour those I love through the years.

You wake up in the morning and before you turn around it’s evening and the day has just flown past, which is why the phrase of making hay while the Sun shines never fails to reverberate in my mind.

Even if you refused to make the hay, time will still zoom by and the bales of hay to be made still awaits you.

I can remember when I was a small girl which seems like yesterday, and people in their thirties seemed ancient to me.

I can never forget a would be suitor *arranged marriage* that came seeking for my hand when I was barely 18. He was a doctor in his 30’s residing in Italy and I can still recall my horror at the thought of marrying someone who was possibly my fathers age.

Now, here I am, older, wiser, yet still very young in my head at times.

Sometimes, I do nothing, but just ponder over the essence of time and life.

Would I wake up one day and find that I have been dreaming my life all along?

Ever since my sense of how fast time goes by became acute, I try to make each day count, live in each moment and get the best that I can out of it.

With the conscious reality that the best things in life are for free, the onus rests on me to endeavour to enjoy these best things as much as life makes available to me.

There is no time to spend over inane issues. We can’t stop time, but we can embrace what we have and be the pilot’s of our given moments.

Dilly-Dally…..

Time 2

They thought they had all the time
With vigour they dilly-dallied overtime
Bright eyes and dashing red lipsticks, they wined and dined
Brawny sinews and husky tones, they were in their prime

They enjoyed lots of downtime
Some simply left it all to sometime
And kept saying in the meantime
Lets have fun ‘cos it’s Summertime

Tick Tock, Tick Tock goes the passage of time.

Seconds to minutes, to hours and to days
The days rolled by and turned into years
Time flew by and they were in tears
There was no going back in arrears

Anticipation gave birth to perspiration
Relaxation gave way to vexation
It was now more than halftime
This game does not allow a second time

Tick Tock, Tick Tock, time was nearly gone.

They struggled to earn a dime
Indeed it was a stiff climb
Some turned to a quick hand of crime
While a whole lot started to whine

Some felt that life was simply slime
And sacrificed their peacetime
While some made juice with their lime
And simply had a good time

Tick Tock, Tick Tock, it’s a race against time

Now it’s past their springtime
No more room for sublime
Now its a game of full-time
There is no more prime-time

With the passage of years and all the time
Which they had lent for a long time to sometime
Who then gave it to procrastination every time
And he is renowned to be the biggest thief of time.

Was it Too Little, Too Late?…

There are times when people pass on and you wonder…

Was it that we didn’t pray enough?

Was it that we waited too long to pray?

Was it this and was it that?

Then it dawns on you once again!

That The Scourge of Death,

Though a most unwanted visitor,

Is the only certainty in the cycle of life.

And will call at His own time!

Like seasons come and go,

So does the life cycle of man!

Rest in peace, my lady.

Your absence will be felt.

Your Time, Your Light, Your Life…

Try not to waste time on darkness that robs you of your light!

How you spend your time, defines who you are or who you become!

Some people suffer from major ego-dysfunction and seem to dwell only in dark, negative auras; that once you get sucked in, they rob you of the light and energy that you require for yourself and others!

They are not interested in your time nor the positive energy that you channel to them, but the narcissistic pleasure they derive from waste!

Remember that change cannot be forced down a person’s throat! That person has to desire the change itself, because true change starts from within to without!

You may share your empathy with all, but choose wisely those who dine in the inner cores of your heart!

Use your light for greater good, your life will be better for it!

Wasting your time is simply wasting your life!

Protect your time. It is your life!

Perfect? No, not I…

Man

Certainly, I know that I am not perfect,

And that is perfectly alright.

Neither are you, or you and you!

Human flaws are characteristics we all share in common.

Some flaws are deeply entrenched,

Like the mandatory make up stripes on a zebra,

While some flaws are momentarily switched on,

As changeable as a flash bulb.

Some give it a posh title – eccentric, uniqueness, schizophrenic, deficient, myopic …and so on,

Or the simpler names – faults, shortcomings, intolerance, and so on. …

I call it exposing your humanity,

You being who you are.

In each of us, exists a beauty and a beast,

Like a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde,

It all depends on which side of your humanity you choose to expose.

In each of us exists a redeeming quality,

As minutiae as it may be.

Consider the good qualities of a man,

Weighed against his faulty sides,

And judge his character based on that which outweighs the other.

Let us bear with each other,

For the fault lies in our differences,

And none of us is above such criticism.

Don’t spend too much time dwelling on those flaws,

Life is too short to waste on things that cannot change,

But by all means, change the flashbulbs as often as you can,

For better illumination on the path of your journey,

Your final destination will be worth the effort.
