What My Mama Said To Me…9

Wisdom, Mother Knows Best, Proverbs, Mother and Child

Mama said to me, baby,
this life is a marketplace
filled with useful and useless goods,

what you fill your basket with
determines how profitable you’ll be
at the end of your purchases.

Quotes For You

Seeds…

Planting, Seeds, New Growth

Planting and watering little seeds

of positivity

in the lives of others

ensures that

my basket of harvest

is equally full of positivity

Mama said to me, baby,
if you try to move forward
and it fails to work

Why not use the reverse
to get yourself
out of that spot?

Poetry Cards

i doubt it…

you say that you love me,

i doubt it

‘cos your heart

is so barren

that nothing fruitful

but hate grows in there

Poetry card, poems, micro poetry

you say that you love me,

i wonder how

‘cos you treat yourself

with such self-hatred;

and no one can find love

where hate inhabits

The Daily Post

Whose Recital?

Poetry, Parenting, Nature, Imitation, Coaching

We learn by imitation
from the time we are conceived
to the time we die
we recite our words and thoughts
and in most cases
these things frame our lives

Most take on the whispers
that has floated into their ears
as a guiding principle for their lives
and when those whispers
are the drippings of a venomous mind
what happens to the child being fed?

Whose recital are you listening to?

Writing

Don’t Sabotage Your Writing Career Before It Takes Off – Part 4

Sticking To One Genre Of Writing

Be open to writing other things besides novels. It’s interesting to read and listen to some writers whose basis for measuring other writers’ writing career depends on published novels while leaving novellas, short stories and poetry behind for those whom they term ‘amateur writers.’

Writing, Writing Career, Short Stories, Stories, Novels, Poetry

A ‘writing career’ is first and foremost all about writing and earning a living through your writing. Then the second aspect of your writing career is choosing to specialize. Focusing on one area narrows your reach. Some writers struggle to acknowledge themselves as one because they have don’t have published novels in their catalogue thereby underrating their creative channels. Read more…

Rononvan's Weekly Haiku Challenge

Stay and Hope…

Lovely prompt ‘hope & stay,’  from Ronovan for this week’s haiku. I came up with several versions and settled for these two.

Image result for hope images

Stay. Hope whispered to me.
You will be there sooner than expected.
See how far you’ve come.

Don’t lose hope.
Just stay committed and focused,
you will triumph.
