Pay Attention To Little Details

Your total image is more than the subject of your interest. A quick check of the sides, top, and bottom of your frame to see that everything works well together or if anything is out-of-place gives you a 99.9% chance of capturing that great image.

If there’s something that’s not quite right for the image is it possible to adjust it to eliminate ‘the noise’ that would detract from your subject. The whole photo should be balanced with the right perspective. Read More

Echos Of My Neighbourhood

The Rabbit, The Pigeon and The Park – Echoes of my neighbourhood

Thankfully, I went off to unwind with the family before everything went wonky election wise. Now I need to unwind even some more.

Nothing beats relaxing in nature to work out the kinks.

So, take up your mats and collapsible camp chairs and just go and relax. After all said and done, your well-being counts for everything.

Lady Manila shares her breathtaking NaNoPloBano post with us. Have a look see 🙂

On Thursdays, I share pictures about ‘Echos of my Neighbourhood.

If you would like to participate, the challenge is quite simple and you can find out more about it through this link.

It’s just an old, odd piece of wood that I saw while taking a walk. It could be classified as dead and rubbish but I had this pull to pick it up. I like to work with my hands on wood or pottery. It has a way of calming my mind.

An image of a polished piece, with a carving, popped into my head, but I resisted and continued with my walk.

I felt that it would just lie in the pile of things that are eyeing me to do them, just like my basket of unfinished knitting and I decided this year to stop all the ‘start and not finishing’ projects as much as possible.

Now, for the past two days, the image meant for the wood has been taunting me that I wonder if I should go and find that piece of wood?

A Click A Day

Polaroid – A Click A Day

Times keep changing and so does technology. I saw this dummy replica of an old camera and remembered the old polaroid cameras my parents used back in the days to capture our startled, say cheese expressions for the family album.

We called them ‘wait and take,’ photos. It was fascinating as a child to watch the photo slide out mere minutes after it was taken. Now, digital rules the World.

Adolf Hitler – A tale of rejection I have read stories of Hitler and how he was maltreated as a child, but that doesn’t cut it for me. There are many others who have had worse on their plates in life and they didn’t become horrific personalities, their adversities made them more empathetic. Below is my comment to this post.

I believe that one chooses to be hateful. Yes, his upbringing may have been sad and pitiful, there are those who have had worse and didn’t turn into living monsters. There’s really no excuse for the monstrosity and horrible acts that this man perpetrated on humanity.

A Click A Day

The Global Village – A Click A Day.

I walked past this office with the map and stepped back to take a second look. With their permission, I looked at it with keen interest. Yes, I’ve seen the World map before – luckily I did geography in school, so I do know a bit about my longitudes and latitudes but that wasn’t where my interest lay.

I noticed that though we are set apart by natural and man-made boundaries, we are all still joined together.

I noticed that the World today seems smaller than it was in my mind as a child. That today, I am bound to know what might be happening in Greenland right as it unfolds and it brought this thought to my mind; ‘that the lack of concern about what’s happening in other places is living in a fools’ paradise.’

Crisis and trouble have no borders and eventually, when not checked and contained, it becomes everyone’s trouble. We have to make wise decisions in choosing those who become our leaders because our small and unselfish decisions truly matter in the larger scheme of things.

A Click A Day

Fresh Bread – A click a day.

PicsArt_08-26-06.44.47[1]

The aroma of fresh, soft baked bread makes your mouth water and arouses an irresistible craving inside you. Coupled with a generous slapping of Kerrygold salted butter and you’ve got me.

Where I live, there’s a deli downstairs and they always torture my nostrils (in a good way) with that tummy grumbling smell that floats through. I try to be strong and resist yanking some part of the loaf before breakfast time. Today, a photo will suffice 🙂

How do you like your bread?

Learning[1]

At whatever age we find ourselves, we must continue to learn. Growing older does not equate to not living life as full and as enriched as you possibly can as long as your faculties and health are still functioning, in other words, as long as you are alive.

Keep LEARNING!
