Stark and Beautiful…

My main attraction was the young tree that had nothing much to show in the name of leaves caught in-between two richer siblings and I wanted to pay her starkness some attention because I found her beautiful nonetheless.

I simply love the juxtaposition with the building which wasn’t the initial plan.

The Waterside Bloom…

Walking by the waters calms me,

it humbles me to see the expanse of nature’s’  beauty that abounds before me and

to realise that, I’m one of nature’s beauty and bloom.

Building a Nest…

‘Petit à petit, l’oiseau fait son nid.’ Bit by bit the bird makes its’ nest.

I thought that I would only watch such stuff on National Geographic.

It was my utmost pleasure to spy as intrusively as possible on the little birdie constructing its’ nest.

It’s amazing how dexterous these little ones are.

Now, I regret not making a video.

Mundane Monday

The Portrait of A Fly

Mundane Monday Challenge is created to find beauty in almost everything.

The challenge is simple. Find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs.

Fly, photograph, beauty in mundane things

It kept flitting around me in a pesky manner.

My initial desire to swat it was overtaken by the desire to take its photo.

After a patient wait on the fly, it finally perched on the shadowy wall. Luckily my camera was within reach and I took a quick shot.

After the photo shoots, I didn’t mind its peskiness as much.

Sharjah Aquarium – Echoes of my neighbourhood

Watching sea life is so satisfying and has a way of relaxing my nerves and calming my mind. As a matter of fact, I am persuaded in my mind to get a small aquarium – hoping the poor fishy will thrive if I do so.

I always try to sneak in a detox outing/walkabout for myself sometime during the busy week. I simply shut down everything and just go to unwind.

My walkabout took me to Sharjah’s Aquarium and marine museum – will share the museum photos later. Emirate of Sharjah is one of the 7 emirates that form the UAE and on a good day without traffic, it’s just forty minutes drive from home.

Lady Lee sends us postcard pretty weekly smiles and sinful online platters to indulge in 🙂

If you would like to participate, the challenge is quite simple and you can find out more about it through this link.

I Waited…

I peered hard to see the man on the moon
if he had secrets to tell me as he sings me a tune
but nary did I see him even in the zoom
I guess he’s equally in disdain of the World and it’s tycoons’.

The Rabbit, The Pigeon and The Park – Echoes of my neighbourhood

Thankfully, I went off to unwind with the family before everything went wonky election wise. Now I need to unwind even some more.

Nothing beats relaxing in nature to work out the kinks.

So, take up your mats and collapsible camp chairs and just go and relax. After all said and done, your well-being counts for everything.

Lady Manila shares her breathtaking NaNoPloBano post with us. Have a look see 🙂

On Thursdays, I share pictures about ‘Echos of my Neighbourhood.

Stream of Consciousness Saturday.

Indulgence…Streams of Consciousness Saturday

My Stream of Consciousness Saturday comes out late because I had a brainwave yesterday and indulged in something that’s almost become a novelty for me.

I shut down my systems completely throughout yesterday, took a novel and my mat to the park with my children where I read, dozed off to sleep to the tweet of birds, the gentle breeze, the sound of children playing in the background, the tantalizing aroma of grilling sausages and sweet smell of cotton candy floating to my nostrils sporadically.

I woke up refreshed, thankful and relaxed and I said to myself ‘Jacqueline, you must indulge in this novelty often enough.’

I doubt if it will ever grow stale to just step back for a few hours and just be without the undue pressure that we put on ourselves trying to meet all manners of deadlines.

To more novelty and reading novels 🙂

Gratitude

Abundance of Grace

picsart_10-26-07-14-591

When I was a little girl, we would match to the beat of the school drum in our pinafore’s, singing in our high-pitched staccato voices ‘the day is bright, it’s bright and fair, oh happy day, a day of joy, the day is bright, it’s bright and fair, oh happy day of joy.’

The little girl in me has been humming this song each morning these past few days. Our weather is getting lovelier by the day. It’s no longer a melt in a puddle, burnt to bacon crisp temperature and I am so looking forward to making the best of this season.

The fact that nature blesses us with such respite is totally wonderful and yes, coupled with the fact that finally, I’ve launched my self-hosted blog, I feel light, merry and grateful.

I am fully aware that there are those who have multiple blog babies and quite frankly, I wondered how they kept up with all that and the rest of their lives with ease, but what each day teaches me is that once you set your heart on achieving something and you ask for the grace, it shall come in abundance.

Shall I tell you that my heart is filled with gratitude? Indeed it is! I didn’t expect the amount of support that I’ve received from you – my friends – once I announced that I’ve launched. You are truly an awesome community. Thank you.

When we ask, not only do we receive, but our abundance shall overflow.

A Click A Day

Little Green Tortoise – A Click A Day

picsart_10-21-09-51-211

I saw this little one and his siblings in a garden pond. I walked past without noticing initially because they blended with the rocks, till a bubble in the water drew my attention. They are totally pint-sized and interesting to look at.
