They searched high, they searched low

In nooks and crannies, far and wide

They looked to find, dragging so much behind

Not knowing that within them is all that they are searching for

Inspiration - Motivation

Someday…

Though your lines may look
all bent out of shape today,

Don’t despair!

Someday, you’ll look and see them
all fall in the right direction,

Keep repairing!

My Thinking Corner – Set Your Pace

3-1

Sometimes, in the bid to aspire and to achieve, a lot of people over reach their purpose and passion.

This is most especially witnessed in today’s World where lives are lived on social media, in the eye of all and sundry and success is judged by the number of likes checked off in a box.

The litmus test should always be this question: ‘why am I doing XYZ?’ ‘searching the recesses of my heart and mind, would I find that am I truly contented with what I’m doing?’ ‘If not, why?’

The answers to your silent litmus should tell you all that you need to know because the truth is when you set off doing something without your own driving conviction and doing it because Mr. QED is doing so, chances are that it would simply become another White Elephant project.

Lady Cee shares 3 succinct tips for making successful life changes.

Be part of The Thinking Corner, share your positive, self-help tips and development thoughts.

When we begin to feel guilt for failing in doing certain things, it’s a good indication that we are possibly overloaded.

It’s often better to cut out trivial chores and pastimes here and there and face the vital stuff until we are able to get it together.

It’s also okay to be kind to yourself when you fall behind. No! You don’t have superpowers 😉

Some days I’m stuck, not knowing what to write – I guess that’s why 50 blog post ideas and activities to beat the bloggers’ block is great, but I also realized that it’s okay not to be fully optimized in my thoughts every day. Some days, my brain just wants to be chill.

The difference between who you are right now and who you seek to be lie in what you choose to do. Are you taking the right steps?

♦  If you have a dream, yet you choose to do nothing, be rest assured that it will never materialize.

♦  A dream works when you work on it. It may be slow in arriving, but consistently taking the rights steps, slowly but surely will get you to your desired goal.

Water is Life Robert writes a beautiful, thought-provoking yet soothing post with a flavour of exotic. I enjoyed reading this and learning a few things.

Adolf Hitler – A tale of rejection I have read stories of Hitler and how he was maltreated as a child, but that doesn’t cut it for me. There are many others who have had worse on their plates in life and they didn’t become horrific personalities, their adversities made them more empathetic. Below is my comment to this post.

I believe that one chooses to be hateful. Yes, his upbringing may have been sad and pitiful, there are those who have had worse and didn’t turn into living monsters. There’s really no excuse for the monstrosity and horrible acts that this man perpetrated on humanity.

Can’t Stand The Pledge What are your thoughts on the pledge? Do you take a knee or stand? What are your thoughts on this interesting perspective?

Humor - Bellyful of laughter · Personal story

Yippee! Yes I Can! – Personal

Today, I am thankful for the fact that I passed my Karate-do grading test, graduating from novice white to yellow belt. Yes!

As an overweight mom in her early forties, I found every reason under the blue sky to discourage myself from taking Karate classes – I used my age, my weight, time and every excusable excuse – but the desire in me was stronger than my excuses.picsart_09-21-05-08-501

I felt that I would be out of place and yes I’m still out of place – the only mama in the crowd of young children and men.

I told myself that my painful knees wouldn’t take it and would probably break.

Somedays, I felt too lazy to go for the night class and each day I had a class, I literally had to ask for the grace to survive it and I bought knee braces.

I knew within me that sticking to it was not going to be easy, but it would be far more empowering as against standing by the sidelines and watching others.

My children encouraged me and became my private coach at home even as I bungled all my moves 🙂

Yes, I burst into tears when I did my test and passed my katas to the cheer of everyone around – I can get emotional.

No, I didn’t tear my dojo pants as I feared I would and made sure I wore nice unmentionables just in case 😉

My heart felt full last night when I received my grading certificate.

I don’t care that I might be the elephant in the house entertaining others with my trundling moves, but you know what, I said I would do it, I had to ask for grace each day to do it and I did it 🙂

I’m sharing this post to encourage those who have things they want to do, but for some excuses are not able to.

Each day grace and gratitude take me higher; get your thankful suit on.

There are several gratitude/thankful platforms in the blogosphere that you can tune into and get your ithankful going on. I can’t express in words the enormity of Joy and fulfillment that comes from having a heart of gratitude. Please check out Maria’s blog, Colline’s blog and Bernadette’s for thankful/gratitude challenges.

Midnight motivation and musings

Midnight Motivation and Musings 107

1471872396865[1]

Change is difficult to embrace most times because of the fear of the unknown and this fear leaves us clinging to old habits, experiences and even harmful situations that we should let go of.

When we fail to let go and release these things that we need to leave behind, we are unable to create room to receive better experiences.

♦ You have to believe in yourself and your talent. You must believe that small fact with your entire being.

♦ That little faith that you have in yourself is not just a catalyst for change but keeps you going even when doubt begins to set in.

Lovely nuggets of integrity come in from Lady Cee and words of wisdom from Deb Glover. You need to check these out.

I hope these words add some value.

Regards,

Jacqueline
