My Thinking Corner

Wonder Full! – My Thinking Corner.

Wisdom, Peace, Love, Courage, Life, Healing, Luck, Quotes, You Are Wonderful

There’s absolutely no mistake,
Not in the way you were made.
You are the masterpiece of the Master sculptor.
For you are as beautiful as you allow yourself to be.
From within to without,
From the tip of your hair,
To your buck teeth,
To the flat soles of your feet,
You are you.
The you that you are is wonderful,
You are no less than anyone else.
Never spend unnecessary time comparing yourself to another,
For you are made unique.
You must remember to tell yourself this every day.
You have courage.
You have strength.
You have confidence.
You have self-respect and love.
In the stillness of the morning,
In the noise of the day,
In the darkness of the night,
Never fail to tell yourself,
That the sculptor made no mistakes with you,
From within to without,
Until you accept it,
And it is settled,
In your Spirit, Body, and Soul.

Positive affirmations breed positive things.

The Daily Post

Open Prairies

I have had many adventures far and near, seen beautiful places, met fascinating folk, tried some daring things and eaten grilled bugs for supper. I guess I could reminisce and talk about them for days on end, but I won’t do that today.

Lots of adventures lie ahead of me, a million and more places to see, more people to meet and more things to experience as long as the good Lord permits.

However, the wonderful adventure I am having right now goes a back in time – through the fantastic good old-fashioned book series ‘Love comes softly of Janette Oke’ – to the beautiful 19th century rugged, open country of North America, where trust, faith, love, family, friends, honesty, and hard work were core values sought after and revered.

The current television series ‘When calls the heart,’ is based on her Canadian series novel of the same name.

I am so totally immersed enjoying my read that I could see the wide open prairies and hear the galloping horses and coach in my dreams last night.

Writers Quote Challenge Prompt

Quote, Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha, Doing My Own Thing, Life, Poetry

I stopped waiting for you to bring me sweet words. I wrote my own! Jacqueline

I sat in silence
waited in futility
hoped hopelessly
that you would bring me words
that would make a difference.

I held my breath
expectantly, I perspired
hanging on
to the few words you had to offer
you starved me. You kept me hungry.

I got tired
of the hunger
I wanted more words
I stopped waiting in vain
I gathered my own words and moved on.

We are continuing the same format here and that is: there are no rules to follow. Either make up your own sayings or use a quote from a famous author that you find gives you inspiration.

Each Thursday, we will post the prompt and all you have to do is participate!

On your own blog post do a pingback to this post and make sure to “like” or “comment” on everyone else’s post. A pingback is when you embed (or copy) the URL of my weekly prompt into your own blog post.

Make sure to check our weekly prompt to see if your entry is there. You can copy URL of your blog post and include it in the comments section of my original weekly prompt if that works better for you.

Copy the badge above and include it in your own post. Tag your post on your own blog as “The Writer’s Quote Challenge,” so we can find the posts in the reader.

Unfortunately, due to the exigencies of time, Bernadette has taken a break from Writer’s quote so, we are still welcoming co-hosts.  Come and join in the fun.

Get OUT of My Bed! You’re Such A Poor Lover!

Poetry, Depression, Peace, Harmony, Life, Balance

Depression wants to sleep with me tonight
but I ain’t having none of that!

I told him that I don’t cheat on Peace
‘cos he brings me Joy, Harmony, Balance
and lots of untold goodies.

I told him that he’s such a poor lover
who leaves me all wound up,
empty and downcast.

That our tumultuous relationship
has me faking orgasmic satisfaction
and that has simply been a lie.

I kicked him out into the cold night
and wedged the door tight with a chair under the lock.

He sulked and begged and cajoled to be let back in
he even promised to be more gentle in his loving
but I ain’t having none of that.

I have listened to his sleek lies in the past
when he used me and put up his feet by the fireplace
having a good smoke while I cried my eye’s raw and my heart bled.

I told him that he’s a Baboon
and he’s not going to get more handsome soon.

His spots are embedded in his thick skin and
can’t be washed off with soap.

I quickly called Peace on speed dial though it was late,
even the birds had gone to roost
but I had to so as not to cave into Depressions whiny voice.

Knowing Peace, he’s such a good guy
he answered once he saw my repeated calls.

He called his companions
Joy, Harmony, Love, Hope, Faith, Music, Laughter…
and they all came along.

They played and danced in my living room all night long whilst
I had a goodnight’s rest in the desired arms of Peace.

The Past is History, not A Mystery I totally enjoyed reading this. History is there to teach us and help us to make a better decision. History is certainly not a mystery. Do have a read.

Jolts causing rapid emotional or psychological switches: Informative post on mental health. I learned something new today.

People with bipolar disorder, and all other mental illnesses just hate, yes, hate, when people tell them to “snap out of it” (their mood states, anxiety or other states). Since most mental illnesses are not unlike other physical illnesses, such a suggestion is very much easier said than done, and the person suggesting such an action clearly misunderstands the severity and difficulty of the illnesses.

Love is A Verb – An Easter Story Beautiful, deep and gave me a fresh understanding. You’ve got to read this.

God loves all of His Creation regardless of race, creed, religion, sexual orientation, or class; His Creation belongs to His Creation, all of it.
