Midnight Motivations and Musings # 82

How do you feel when you stay on course with those thing’s that you set out to do?

Naturally we feel a wholesome satisfaction, elation and motivated.

Good results inspire us to keep striving for repeats while negative results drag us down.

We are imperfect and sometimes we fall short in focusing on those things that are best for us, but the important thing is not to let our focus deplete to such an extent that we have to start anew each time.

Discipline builds and becomes part of one’s character.

Out of the silent breath

Never leave me lonely on these shores

Where no one knows me

Where I stare at strange forms

Trying to find you somewhere there in their midst.

Feminist Friday A brilliant post of an inspiring lady. For a woman to rise in a society that’s majorly patriarchal in nature, she needs to hook up with other inspiring women. Feminism is not about not needing men, but about knowing your self-worth and embracing your strength.

Sixth sense fired up: This post really got me all fired up to go get acupunctured so that my inner senses can get all attuned and revving. Wow!

Friday 13 How was you Friday the 13th? Did you get up to any mischief or did any superstitions try to run after you? Meh! I don’t believe in all that!

While the storm rages around and within mental health month: We stress and worry over so much that goes on in our lives. When and how do we balance these important issues that go on in our daily lives? Not an easy feat. Pamela’s hectic recount paints a vivid picture.

Deborah and the dancing Samurai: This is sure to put a smile on your face 🙂

A quick drive-thru to say hello can gain you a friend.

Out of the silent breath

Never leave me lonely

With words left unsaid

You walk away into the dark

Like a mist, that melts away.

It’s a known fact that happiness can’t be bought in any shop even if we have all the money in the World.

For sure we can buy all the good time there is to be had with our plenty money, all the material possession, but since the pursuit of happiness is neither bottled nor sold, a rich man can still be a most miserable human.

Happiness emanates from within and within is controlled by the state of our minds.

The right frame of mind is the one that we should definitely place our emphasis on because that is the secret to a peaceful life and to your inner glow.

A deep sense of satisfaction

Of peace, I sense within.

As the Sun peeks to say hello

I am happy to embrace me.

Those who influence my life…Personal

1463067372393[1]

This week’s prompt for The great book of lists, La Duchesse wants us to talk about those who inspire us, so here goes:

At each juncture in my life, there are those who have inspired me and still inspire me. Their presence influences my past, present, and future.

My Dad: Without doubts, my father -God rest his soul- has remained the most influential man in my life.

He was a peaceful, loving, upright and hardworking soul whose views to life was very simple.

His integrity was impeccable and he would always tell us that once you don’t covet that which belonged to another, you would have a peaceful life.

There’s no day that passes that the echoing whisper of his words doesn’t reverberate in my mind. Especially when he would always tell you that anything worth doing, is worth doing well.

My quintessential mother: A gracious, generous, beautiful woman.

If half of the milk of human kindness that flows in this woman’s veins flows through mine, then I will consider myself a decent human.

She still remains my confidant, my prop, my source of inspiration and light.

My dear Himself: This husband of mine who drives me crazy, loves me and makes me know what love is. He’s a good man. A generous and loving dad to his children.

He pushes me to be better and to aspire for more.

He dreams big dreams and his intelligence never fails to impress me.

Now, if only I can get him to agree to everything I say….;-)

My children inspire me every day. I want to be a great parent because of them.

I want to leave a legacy that when they look back tomorrow, even when I’m gone, they will be happy that God chose me as their mother.

Others: I have a healthy dose of respect for people (famous or not) who wear the aura of positivity despite all the challenges that they might have faced or are facing. Such people inspire me.

My aggressors: Why would I choose such negative crowd?

This is a story that hasn’t been told.

Not because the words and the memories are gone, but because I’m not mentally ready and maybe some day, it will find it’s way into my memoir.

Yes, they inspired me not to curl up and die.

They inspired me to rise out of the burnt ashes from moments of insanity.

I will rest here. Blessed Be.

Out of the silent breath

I can see clearly now the ghosts are laid to rest

Broken visions melded and better than the first

Atop the ladder of scattered dreams and buried bones,

I glimpse the brighter vision reflected and renewed.

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 72

1461655942270[1]

We are all a whirlpool of dreams and ideas but a lot of us undermine our capabilities and always nip dreams in the bud with comments like ‘oh I couldn’t,’ while looking on as others go about trying to achieve theirs.

I can’t, I couldn’t, I am afraid and so  many of such self limiting statements are defeatist and they are like monsters that simply grow bigger with the smallest confirmation.

Yes you can, but only when you’ve tried to. You’ve got nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain, if only you will have the audacity to try and have fun while at it.

Dreams[1]

Not all soil is good for planting due to its acidity or other toxic properties.

Likewise, not all circumstances that surround us will be supportive in nurturing you to the best of your potentials.

Sometimes, you have to make the smart decision and keep your dreams alive but away from toxicity.

Once you recognise such traits, it might not be easy to discard of such circumstances (they might be your family or job), but with wisdom, you can circumvent such characters and keep moving on without relent.

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 66

Personally, I have sometimes found myself in a quandary as I am filled with an ambitious drive to achieve so much simultaneously and the lessons learnt by so doing, is that something always suffers for the other.

There’s no way to do so many things excellently well when the attention span has been spread so thin.

The need to accomplish often comes hand in hand with the feeling that one is a bit behind, thus the attempt to bundle up and get so much done becomes irresistible.

However, taming the desire to rev all engines and streamlining these projects yields a better result.

One feels less pressured and more productive when they set a deliverable timeline for each one and take it one after the other.

Midnight Motivations and Musings 65…

1461003426713[1]

At times, out of fear of the unknown, we hold ourselves hostage as we hold on far too long to things that have ceased to work.

Those relationships that leave us ill instead of enriching our lives, no satisfaction from jobs that drain us while on the highway to nowhere, a lifestyle that has gone bankrupt and done more harm than good…there are so many crooked lines.

For as long as we hold onto those crooked lines, we don’t free our hands to draw and hold on to better ones.

It’s not always that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. A bird in hand might peck your hands bloody and finish your seeds, yet it’s neither singing nor hatching meaningful stuff.

Sometimes, not holding a bird for a while might be a better deal. It opens your mind to think on how to go after the two in the bush.

Tuesdays Trickles…My Thinking Corner # 18

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.

Each Tuesday, share your very short snippets of positive, inspiring, motivating, health, spiritual, writing advice, clips, posts etc, that can serve as a prop to motivate others and simply add my link to your post.

I call it my thinking corner because, I actually take out a bit of time just to think through things, encapsulate my thoughts as much as possible and detoxify my mind. It helps give me clarity of vision and might help you too.

It might work for you in a different way, but the idea is to get the positive thoughts flowing.

Please send in your little thoughts. You never know whose life you might inspire.

  • Rome was built, burnt down and rebuilt. Great things you seek to achieve, sometimes fall apart before the rise again.
  • When you let yourself go, always remember where you did so, that way you can pick yourself up again.
  • If we fail to learn from past mistakes, our lives become an epistle of errors.
  • If you go to sleep with Mr. bad mood, you wake up with the wrong companions.
  • None has a perfect life, nor perfect days, but we can take some of our moments and make them sublime.

Thoughts for this week came in from:

Dollops of heedful ramblings – Determination How determined are you to succeed? What steps do you take in your process? Do you stand by your decisions? Ask yourself

Annette’s place Annette shares million dollar worth quotes and they resonate very well with me.

For some reason, this week I haven’t received any pingbacks from people. I guess there’s still pingback issue. It’s all good.

Regards,

Jacqueline

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 64

When you are committed to doing something, you wait for no one, especially when it’s something that you are meant to do by yourself and for your well being.

Don’t sit waiting for love or life to find you. Go out and get the life and the love will follow.

Sometimes, in order to move on, we need to cease waiting and get going.
