The Silent Predator…

Camouflage 2“Camouflage is a game we all like to play, but our secrets are as surely revealed by what we want to seem to be as by what we conceal.” — Russell Lynes

”I am totally preening with pride.” No, it’s not a camouflage.” ”I am preening because today’s prompt for Writing 101 was humbly offered by me and accepted by Ben Huberman.”

”So I crave your indulgence while I inundate you with poetry 🙂 ”

You can never be a Lion
Always you will remain a Chameleon
‘Cos Lions roar,
Making their presence known
While you slink in the shadows
Taking your preys,
Silently to their gallows.

It’s time for a little game of poetic hide-and-seek with Day 9’s prompt, Camouflage, by the prolific @jacquelineobyikocha.

For today’s poem, take inspiration from camouflage — you may apply it in any way you like, whether you write about visual or social dissimulation, or focus on the way we hide our myriad emotions, actions, and reactions. What would be your ultimate smokescreen, concealment, or mask?

Swirling Emotions…

Hidden emotions“Camouflage is a game we all like to play, but our secrets are as surely revealed by what we want to seem to be as by what we conceal.” — Russell Lynes

”I am totally preening with pride.” No, it’s not a camouflage.” ”I am preening because today’s prompt for Writing 101 was humbly offered by me and accepted by Ben Huberman.”

”So I crave your indulgence while I inundate you with poetry 🙂 ”

Are these words that you are uttering,
True expressions of your inner stuttering?

Is that smile pasted on your lips,
Real portrayal of what it seems?

Do these feelings in your eyes,
Mirror the warmth that lies in your hearts?

Are these your reactions,
Real results of those actions?

Or are they as false as a smokescreen,
That serves as camouflage?

For the true emotions that swirl beneath!

The cold feelings of misery,
Yet you smile to mask the pain.

The burning desires of envy,
Yet your lips speak in vain.

Can you strip yourself to see,
Beneath the makeup that we see,
And truly set yourself free!

When It All Goes Downside Up….

Roller CoasterBeing a mother is not a duty that comes with a how-to manual; you simply take on the responsibility with Grace and Hope.

Some days are a fly by the seat of your pants days, where so many things get thrown at you at such speed that you either catch, dodge or get hit.

Yesterday was one of those days. I will not inundate you with all the nitty-gritty, but when you have children, you are always simply in the ”Be prepared mode”, more so with two rough and tumble boys.

One left for school hale and hearty and came back wheeled in with a sprained ankle from a rough game of football. He had scored a goal and the others piled on top of him!

Another came down with a bout of fever and coughing up a storm.

My dear daughter on her own part, appeared puffy faced and teary eyed; her brand new tablet had just been smashed by a careless best friend.

All these within hours of each other and on top of other beckoning, ever- present responsibilities.

”What do you do?”  ”Pull your hair out and get crazy or keep calm and handle the tasks at hand?”

Scene 1. With lots of cold compress, gentle massage and pain relief, we got the ankle to feel fine and he is walking by himself this morning, so we are smiling.

Scene 2. Brewed lots of warm soup, made mugs of fresh squeezed lemon with a dash of boiled ginger and teaspoons of honey, 10mils of Ibuprofen and palliatives; we are still coughing, but fever is down.

Scene 3. A quick retrieval of warranty for the tablet and mummy has to go and see if something can be done about it.

So there it is. All in a days job.

Today, I am thankful for God’s protection and grace over my family.

I am grateful for serenity in chaotic moments.

There is always something to be thankful for. What is your heart grateful for today?

The graffiti talent
Could very well be harnessed
To tell meaningful tales
And leave foot prints in the sands of time.

He Loved Me Through It All…

God love 2

He loved me through it all
With every stumble, every fall
He simply made me stand tall
And loved me through it all

Unfailing, whenever I call
He became my all in all
Even in sorrow of my own fault
Still he loved me through it all

Though heaven and earth
May pass away
His promise to love I know for sure
That since he has called me his beloved
He will love me through it all.

A Smile Always Beautifies Things…

1450023176710[1]

It’s already Monday
That makes it an amazing day
Embrace it with wholesome display
For there is something good in every day

Quick Fun Fact:

Astronauts are not allowed to eat beans before they go into space because passing wind in a space suit damages them.

It’s lovely to start the week and each day as much as we can with positive outlook. I find Leannenz Monday memes interesting.

Do have a fruitful and blessed week awesome people.

My Clay Feet…personal

1449996268009[1]

Did someone mention flaws? Oh dear!

My heap of clay feet is so huge that it’s too heavy to be placed on a pedestal. I am covered in bruises of flaws.

I am bandaged and sore all over from the blight of character that I suffer.

Grace and mercy saved me from the blisters of slavery to my flaws and I hardly know where to start, but what I know for sure is that I am truly glad for the gift of self acceptance and discovery.

Before I got married and had children, my patience level was low and needed room for improvement. In simple terms, I did not suffer fools gladly.

However, with the arrival of my darling, yours truly, my  young patience was stretched thin, that there were times I wondered if God was having a chuckle as fate deliberately paired me with a man who is my direct opposite and who would drive me crazy with his own eccentricities.

Then the arrival of children stretched it further, yet, surprisingly made it stronger and more elastic to such an extent that the level of my patience in recent times astounds even me at times.

I used to worry incessantly. I worried about my family. I worried about tomorrow. I worried about the state of the World and everything worth worrying about up until the ministrations of the Holy Spirit made me realize that worrying about issues beyond my control was simply exhausting, fruitless and non-purposeful.

I learnt to start casting my burdens unto The Lord as minutiae as they may be and over time, I have noticed so much improved difference. The trials and lessons were actually meant for my own long term benefit.

It’s really an endless list but, something that I know for sure is that, not only is my evolution a transforming liberation for me, but also a spiritually refining progress.

Without doubts no one can claim to be flawless. Even the Saints were Sinners at some point in time in their lives.

Now I see my flaws as my beauty spots 🙂

Hocus-Pocus!…and it’s all peaches…

Love your God

Without much ado, if I had one shot as a Super Power to change the law of Nature, I have no need to set my eye’s too far.

I will weave my spell that all mankind will have innate and undeniable abilities to love selflessly, without prejudice.

Wouldn’t that be out-rightly peachy?

If we take our minds off for a moment and think of everything that plagues mankind and where it emanates from, we would find that the deep roots of all problems simply generates from lack or insufficient love.

Insufficient love for God gives birth to disobedience, lack of trust, dishonesty, wickedness and a long list of negativity.

Our inner spirit’s are forever in a state of turmoil due to this disobedience and consequently gives birth to its own fruits; from self fulfilling hatred that is cascaded down to others – because, one cannot give that which they lack – to avarice and greed, envy, corruption, moral decrepitude and an endless list of vices.

Indeed where there is no love, there in lies a multitude of sins.

So, it’s got to be love all the way, if I had my way to some hocus-pocus.

When we love we respect. When we love we are patient and kind. When we love we care. When we love we are understanding. When we love we are generous with our laughter, our light, our riches and ourselves. When we love we are not proud. When we love there is absence of greed and self-seeking. When we love we are free.

It’s Never Too Little…

1449663207076[1]

My heart is glad for the pretty things that surround me in this environment. The flowers are blooming all over the place and the birds are flocking all around.

For the simple things of life, like a warm bowl of chilli and vegetable soup brewed in my kitchen, for the crispy cool Sahara air; even though we are all sneezing and coughing, I give thanks.

Above all things today, I am so grateful that we were able to find Prednisolone at 3am this morning, when my young boy woke up with sudden bad allergic reaction and a swollen face.

We used all the normal stuff for him, but to no avail.

He is allergic to certain environmental factors and it occurs more with weather changes like Summer with all the pollen or the dusty Winter air in this climes.

I did not want to use EpiPen which I keep for only extreme reactions.

Mercifully, the allergic reaction has been arrested and we have every cause to smile.

For what are you thankful today? ”Remember that feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” – William Arthur Ward.
