Do step in and show some love.

Well cross that bridge: These might just be the words you need this morning to start out your day.

The success process: a short, well-enunciated encouraging post. Take a read.

Long may it wave: I wear a wry smile as I read Oneta’s short post which is so ironically true. We want it short, right now and so on and so forth, yet we all want long healthy life. Isn’t life just great 🙂

Porch Ministry: Michelle’s beautiful story took me back to the day’s of sitting in front of my parent’s verandah and shredding corn while listening to my mother or grandmother entertain us with stories. A lot of life went on in front of that verandah, a lot of tradition handed down and beautiful memories made. These days, people hide away inside, behind their doors, they don’t even know who their neighbours are anymore – because they can’t be bothered. It’s a sad shame!

In love with the Lord: these 20 words of Martha’s packs a deal of strength. I like it.

Piercing the darkness…

Clouds of darkness
hang heavily over the land
its weight keeps the dwellers down
and blinds their vision,
causing them to stumble, to fall
and to lose their way.

…But if you and I agree
to light our little wicks together,
our combined lights will shine so bright,
it will evaporate the dark clouds
and we would find our path
through this darkness, that pervades our land.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it: John 1:5

It’s just an insult: are barbed words meant to hurt only just words? How deep do they cut inside? How do we react to them? A thought provoking post.

A painted sail: Maremma weaves a tale that sets your imagination painting…step into the Ship and meet the pirates 😉

Juggle: a beautiful sharing of precious friends. Heartwarming.

Military musicians: Please read. Your voice might make a difference in saving the military musicians. Have a read.

Catching vibes: a short intriguing play on words.

Beth’s brief career as a Religious Educator: Nutsrok always serves up humour in great doses. When I feel down, her post doesn’t fail to put a smile on my face.

Hot Passion…

They stole glances at each other
a lump formed in her throat
as she admired his rippling muscles
and warmth pooled in her belly
when he winked at her.

Their love was growing wild
on forbidden ground,
even when they knew that they should be apart
She, a freeborn daughter of the manor
He, a slave from the other side of the Sea.

Thoughts and life: what are your thoughts? How much does it impact your life? This is a rousing post and good for anytime of the day.

And we met: A sweet poem to butter you up a bit 😉

Propercorn Popcorn review: I love popcorn and these days, they come in all sorts of delightful flavours. The other day I had some sinful gourmet caramel popcorn and added some tightness to my skirt, but what’s going to watch a movie without popcorn 😉

A few items from my toolbox: We should all own a toolbox individually built for great structures. Check it out.

The Frog Principle: a very enlightening excerpt and worthy advice extracted from Andrew Matthews book, Follow Your Heart.’ You might learn something new today.

Don’t ever step in the Never-land: this gave me a certain curious thrill and goosebumps. A sneak peek below:

But little does she knows,

In Never land, there is no sunrise!

Nor does it sets, giving way to the night

Here, it’s always the eerie twilight

All about me:  Mo of Mugglestones and Mayhem let’s us into her World by sharing parts of her personal life with us. I always find it refreshing to get to know those I interact with a bit better and today not only did she share some aspect about her but a little knowledge of Mugglestones, which is quite enlightening to know. From her information, Mugglestones  are a combination of Golden Brown Tiger Eye, Hematite, and Red Jasper, exhibits the metaphysical properties of its components, as well as its own.

Mugglestones helps you to regroup and calm scattered energies especially after conflicts with other people, as in groups.

You can learn more from peeking in and saying hello.

Finally clean: a beautiful, uplifting poem from Jamila. A little snippet below:

My life was stumbling,
But then rain came pouring down,

And I never felt more alive,
I could finally breathe,
And felt like the weight from my shoulders,
shook and fall from me.

Fountains: there’s something soothing about fountains or even listening to running water.

The brave but silent: silence carries strength and wields a swift blow that words can’t achieve. A short, tight and interesting read.

Woman of worth: an uplifting and well written post of self value. We should teach the younger generation this so that they come to a place of realization early enough.

The back of a postage stamp: a delightful poem from Oneta that sets me thinking. What will the younger one’s write as their memories of the postage stamp? Do they even know what a stamp is :/

Close to your heart: beautiful poem filled with age old wisdom from Joan.

The Warlord: sometimes, the price paid for being a hero is far reaching beyond the naked eyes of those ululating.

Perfect: Hmm! This set me thinking indeed. I hope that I’m not this type of parent who wants to love the children the way they are if only they are perfect. That must be tough to be perfect.

Just hold on – Writers quote Wednesday challenge.

Love[1]

I believe and have faith in love
for in it lies immeasurable strength
Even on day’s when my faith in humanity
diminishes to micro pieces
that it won’t even match a mustard seed
On such days, I look up to the heavens
and facing the sky
I let the shadows fall behind.

There are moments when faith
is all that have
to propel me forward and hold me upright
On such days, I clasp my thin flicker of faith
like a loving companion and cloak
and allow its strength to seep into me
till my hope rises again.

There are moments
when the future might look bleak to us
when so much seems to be going wrong
in such moments
we turn to faith in hope
that the future will look brighter
if only we can hold on.

Faith includes noticing the mess, the emptiness and discomfort, and letting it be there until some light returns – Anne Lamott

Faith does not make things easy, but makes them possible – Luke 1:37

Writing this week’s prompt ‘Faith’ for WQWWC after days of minds battered with all that’s happening around us is a welcome reprieve even though it’s a hard topic. A hard topic to write on when it’s seems as though the World is momentarily going berserk and my faith in humanity dwindles.

Then again, if we completely lose our faith, then all hope is truly lost and we’ll find ourselves living in a World that’s not only pessimistic and negative, but will become a highly toxic World.

So, I’ll hold onto my flicker of faith that love will always win and my faith comes from above.

The Daily Post

When they put up the fences…

When they put up the fences
may our feet be as fleet as gazelle
that we outrun their barbed enclaves
may our wings spread wide
that we soar high to tips of the highest trees
breaching the boundaries of caged birds
whose wings are clipped
but their voices continue to sing.

When they put up the fences
will they stay rested behind their glass towers
or will they venture to other people’s poor spaces
and plant their feet in arrogant superiority
whilst they tear the owners asunder?
Forgetting that he who brings an insect infested log into his abode
invites the lizard to feast
and may not have rest.

When they put up their fences
tell me
Would that really make any sense?
What manner of divisions shall we see?
Would that really be a worthwhile defense?
or will it trigger room for more offense?
When they put up their fences,
then what? I’m in suspense.
