Dissecting Without Reservations…Stream of Consciousness Saturday

Once I saw the prompt reservation I knew where I wanted to go with it. Of late, I realized that I have been my own stumbling block in many ways. I have been standing in my own way of pushing forward and 99.5% of this manifestations have been due to mental blocks or subconscious reservations that have taken deep root in my mind.

Now, with my merciless carving knife or should I say pen, I am practising mindfulness and paying special attention to the negative messages that come to my mind to counteract my positive affirmations. I seek to understand this negativity better, trace their origin, influence and self-healing. Dissecting oneself can be a painful, messy, unsavoury affair, but the journey to find one’s true self and to realign one’s path requires no reservations.

Messages that may have been founded on experience, background, upbringing etc, inadvertently play a huge role in our lives. They underlie our success and wellbeing and unless we dig to the roots of these negative messages without reservations, it is very difficult to change them.

Why I put my stats in my face…personal thoughts about blogging.

When I started blogging, I used to  agonize over my blog stats so, I’m not going to tell you one big fat lie that it didn’t mean anything to me; it did at that point.

Then, it started taking a center of focus which was anti what I wanted and my objectives.

I want to be able to do my blog posts without thinking for one second if the views would go out of the roof or not.

I didn’t want to lose sight of my main reasons for starting this journey in the first place and that’s to connect with like minded people, whilst nurturing my passion for writing.

Bothering over stats was such a joy-killer.

Even though hundreds of views mattered, it was not my primary goal. If the art of blogging wouldn’t lead me to the road of achieving my writing goals, why then should I bother over stats?

So I put my stats right in my face where I see it every second that I log on to my blog and bingo! I stopped agonizing over it.

I stopped poring over the figures and wasting God-given precious seconds trying to understand how and why and who and what and all the innumerable reasons why someone read xyz that I wrote and the jargon of search terms that one could find.

I just wasn’t about to start writing out of context and playing an orchestra that was tuneless.

The Lesson in this and note to self is, don’t lose sight of your blogging objectives.

Make sure you are enjoying the experience as you keep to your primary objectives. That’s what really keeps you going.

Below is my first just published Poetry Book “Out of the silent breath” which is available on Amazon and Smashwords.

When you buy my book, you support me in an invaluable manner.

I absolutely love this book of poems. My favorites are “Love Rations” (for those who love to give the silent treatment) and “Beggars Supper” (which definitely pulls at the heart strings). Two thumbs up!!

Out of the silent breath

DeTerMinAtioN is our Motto….let us sing!

singing in school

As school kids, we matched in tandem to our classes from assembly singing or should I say yelling a song:

Determination is our motto, Determination, Determination!

Repetitively and in staccato voices too!

No doubt we had no idea what exactly we were singing about. We just SANG happily 🙂

Now as I sit here, in an attempt to drum reluctant and difficult words into a story that does not want to be told, the word Determination echoes in my mind and then…it becomes crystal clear beyond literal levels that:

Someone’s Determination

Is that mental animation

that pushes their bands of resistance

From mundane levels of coexistence

With consistent persistence

To livelier edges of existence

And better culmination

Of one’s life’s narration

There you have it. My very own new definition of determination.Determination

Let me now sing in a hush tone: determination, is my motto, determination, determination 😉

Have a blessed day.
