The Daily Post

Pure and sweetness…

When I saw the prompt ‘pure’ for The Daily Post Photo Challenge, my mind drifted to these things:

❤ The lovely handbook below, ‘Blessings from heaven,’ is a beautiful gift from Ann Hayes.Blessings from heaven

She’s a lovely friend of mine back in Houston. She surprised me with it at the George Bush International airport on the day we were leaving the US for our move to Dubai. I hadn’t expected to see her, nor the blessing of the book and I always keep it with the Rosary, a gift from my brother-in-law’s trip to Jerusalem.

Though these may seem like simple things, they speak of pure thoughtfulness and sweetness to me.  I never forget such gestures.

❤ There’s nothing as sweet and as pure as a baby’s playful delight and gorgeousness. For me, it’s cuteness overloaded. It always gives my heart joy to watch their simple delight.Child

❤ Cute little puppies spell pure carefreeness and mischief to me 🙂

Lifestyle · The Great Book Of Lists

Embracing My Quirkiness….The great book of lists.

Dolls[1]

La Duchesse gave us a prompt ’embracing my quirkiness,’ that not only made me laugh but also made me spend a little time looking at those itty-bitty sides of me that though they may not be original, are part of me, like dusting of freckles or the little mole that occupies a part of your body.

I’m showing you my clay feet and it’s possible that the list is longer than this, but I’ll keep it short so that you don’t run away into the bush to get away from me 😉

  1. I am a touchy feely person, especially with those who I feel close to (but it’s not uncommon for me to hug a new found friend).
  2. I nibble my husband’s food when he’s eating. This used to drive him nutty, but 16 years has made him soften, that he now feeds me himself 😉
  3. I doodle while thinking or listening intently. I have no idea why, but I hear clearly this way.
  4. I carry a notepad everywhere. Everywhere!
  5. I could go for eons without remembering to watch TV. Just leave me with sufficient books, a thick notepad, and music, please 🙂
  6. I watch people’s feet and mentally try to build a fictitious life about them. Please don’t ask me why.
  7. I make up nonsensical songs about anything and sing when cooking. I think I borrowed the singing when cooking from my mother. She did it all through my growing up years and she’s been in the choir like forever.
  8. I always start a conversation with a total stranger; in a safe vicinity of course.
  9. I write to deal with issues on my mind. I pick it apart on a piece of paper.
  10. Okay, I am a die-hard romantic and still enjoy my Harlequin romances et al… feel free to wiggle your eyebrows 😉
  11. I collect itty-bitty silly dolls and give them names.
  12. I am always barefoot at home; pregnant or not. I just like the coolness of the floor under my feet and only put them into my cozy froggy footwear just before bedtime. I’m still trying to understand that.

Thank you for bearing with me and not running off by now. I’ll be watching your feet 😉

Men’s love for flashy…Every day beautiful people # 64

“Men love women but, even more than that, men love cars.” Christian Mckay

It was just interesting to watch the smile and gleam in the eyes of these gentlemen as they admired the ritzy, gleaming red, little ride.

I actually think this red ride is more my thing than theirs. I can see myself in a bigger version to accommodate my ampleness, with the roof down, my scarf and locks flying in the air as I nip about town 😉

Well, let’s keep that thought in my mind’s eye for now.

Echos Of My Neighbourhood · Travel

Flames of the forest and more Echoes of my neighbourhood 22

On Thursday’s, I share pictures about ‘Echos of my Neighbourhood.

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.

Every Thursday, share a photo of bits and pieces of wherever you are at any point in time. It could be a house, backgrounds of your neighbourhood, activities and so forth and you can tag it Echos of my Neighbourhood, add my link to your post so that I will get the ping from your post.

Every other Thursday, I will publish a post with the links of all those who participated the previous week.

This is just a fun way of getting to see more of the World around us through your eyes since we cannot all be at those places, we could, at least, see them through you.

It’s all good that the trees and plants are blooming at this time of the year. The flame of the forest’s orange blooms are vibrant and offers people a colourful cool spot to take cover from the Sun that’s literally baking hot.

During the weekend’s, I always find a couple of hours when I disengage from family affairs and take that time to meander a bit about town and just be by myself.

All the photos in this series were taken last week Saturday. I traipsed or rather, took the bus, train and taxi to different parts of town and most weekends, tourists flood the city in droves.

We e-zoomed around various neighbourhoods on our laptops, pads, phones, and got a peek into what lovely folks are doing.

Like Mercury Colliding: Receiving natures serendipitous gift on your birthday can be such a delightful blessing. Kat makes me want to grow some Magnolia’s.

Jazzy Tower: Beautiful moments in life captured with a great sense of satisfaction.

Giggles and Tales: Just gorgeous photos of serenity and Stella.

Don’t horde the beauty of the life around you, just for yourself. Do share with us😉

Besotted Readers…Every day beautiful people # 63

“Books are a uniquely portable magic.” Stephen King

Readers[1]

We buy books like the magical garden for the children but derive utmost pleasure from reading them and being child-like again 😉

Sometimes, I wonder who gets the most pleasure, the adult who is still a child at heart or the child who soaks up the words in innocent wonder?

I know a lot of us who enter bookstores and come out buying more books than we planned to 🙂

I am guilty all the time.

Writer's Quote Wednesday

A lifetime of adventure…Writers quote challenge

The cover of a book
is a door through a nook
that leads me down adventurous paths
where I’ve never been before.

The last book I read
had many tales to tell
of a maiden who sought adventure
and found true love’s treasure

She was a lass from Singapore
who wanted something more
she desired more of life’s pleasure
and set off on an adventure

She arrived in Dallas
where she met a bloke with class
a cool cowboy with a banjo
who twirled her in a tango.

Our prompt for this week’s Writers Quote Wednesday’s challenge is ‘adventure,’ a word that is synonymous to something exciting.

However, my question is does adventure have to be only when we set off on something grand to escape the ordinary?

If that’s the case then the greater part of our lifetime is lost when we fail to collect our little moments and turn our otherwise mundane life into an adventure of finding deep pleasure in the simple things.

Rononvan's Weekly Haiku Challenge

Sihouette’s

This week’s prompt ‘top and light’ from Ronovan gave me an opportunity to try different story lines and I settled for these two eventually.

She knows he’s at home.
Light streams out of his apartment window
that’s on the top floor

Looking up as she dials
she sees his silhouette in the light
and another without her top

Thoughts race through her mind
like light, they flit by so fast
who’s the other topless lady?

**

I crawled to the top

of the dark, dingy and scary pit

into the brightest of lights.
