Highlighting the positives…Kindness challenge

This happens to be the season in the year where kindness takes a lot of precedence over here.RevofKindness

I’ve witnessed generous gestures by people around me more than usual, that I can’t help but wonder why we as humans just can’t continue to live like this.

Why should kindness simply not be a common factor in our lives every day, then I also realise that it may not be as easy as I would wish because sometimes, I even struggle to be kind to myself.

For the past week, I have been super-charged with a lot of thoughts of things I need to get done (like how to effectively market my book, how to write the one that I am currently writing, work and life balance and so on) and feeling guilty for not doing as much as I should be doing, that if truth be told sometimes all I truly want to do right now is to just fall into bed, curl up with a book and eat as many bars of chocolate as I can possibly muster, but such luxury eludes me as a working, writing family woman.

Thankfully, taking part in Niki’s Kindness challenge has kept the thoughts of kindness at the forefront of my mind, making me make aware that I should soft pedal and take it a bit at a time in order not to run myself aground and for the past few days I have been consciously attentive to keep my mind focused on the positive things that I have achieved at the end of each day and less highlighting of the negative.

End each day with kindness.

“Be kind to yourself and then let your kindness flood the World.” Pema Chodron

Everyday People

Daddy carriage…Every day beautiful people # 69

The photo of the man carrying his baby in his own style simply made me smile. It’s much easier to build a character and to mould strong babies when they are still young than to change a broken man.

Let’s use our God-given opportunities as parents to raise these children right. They are our future and the bridge to better tomorrow for humanity.

I absolutely love this book of poems. My favorites are “Love Rations” (for those who love to give the silent treatment) and “Beggars Supper” (which definitely pulls at the heart strings). Two thumbs up!!

Midnight motivation and musings

Midnight Motivations and Musings 100

1466066800048[1]

Life is full of crooked paths that we don’t envisage, no matter how much we plan.

Of course, there are certain things that we can take charge of and brace ourselves for incidentals, but there’s really so much that one can do.

However, when we keep our minds on a positive track, we’ll find a way through that tight and crooked path onto a more suitable highway.

Writing is not an easy path at all. It’s not a journey to instant wealth, but when we look at the fulfilment derived and also know that our works will hopefully ingrain themselves on the sands of time, that is gratification that keeps you going through this windy and tedious path.

**today I realised that this is the 100th-midnight musings post and it amazes me that I’ve been able to keep up with it**

Gratitude

My full plate…

Crowded, Nest, Egg, Full, Overflowing, Overcrowded

For several weeks, I’ve felt listless and dissatisfied and recent incidents in the World emphasizes the sense of futility that I feel about life. My morale justs dips and I practically have to hang on with tenacious tentacles to all the positive mantras and pick-me-ups that I can think of.

My plate is heaped full of things to do and sometimes, taking a mere glimpse at them makes me want to go and lie down and sleep and hopefully, they will get themselves sorted out without much of my help and mental exertion.

I woke up this morning with a message tucked into my head that kept telling me to be appreciative of the privilege to be alive and the opportunity of having interesting things to tackle.

The message kept reverberating in my head that the gift of each day which is given, should never be taken for granted irrespective of our struggles because the death knell is a final and last call on this side of the divide.

As long as there’s life, hope lies within and today I’m grateful for my full plate of busy-ness and the opportunity to feel the Sun’s shine on my face.

I hope that are you grateful or thankful for something today. We have a lot of privileges surrounding us.

Rononvan's Weekly Haiku Challenge

Wind of life…Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

I totally enjoyed this week’s haiku prompt ‘fresh wind’ from Ronovan, so I tried my hand on three 🙂

A fresh lick of paint
gave his jalopy
a new wind of life.

***

The fisherman’s lulling boat
needs fresh gusts of wind
to reach the shore.

***

ill wind blew out her candle
not giving up
she simply lit a fresh one.

My Thinking Corner

Tuesdays Trickles…My thinking corner # 26

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple. You can check this link for more details.

As you can imagine, like so many people, the recurring events going on around the World leads my mind down the path of ‘tolerance.’

“Tolerance is giving every other human being every right that you claim for yourself.” Robert Ingersoll

“Compassion and tolerance are not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength.” Dalai Lama

When we tolerate each other despite our differences, we give room for peace and life.

Awesome thoughts come your way through these beautiful friends:

Killing each other: this is a thoughtful poem from Rosema filled with unanswered questions that have been dancing in our minds. Please read.

The burden of hate: short truth from Dollops of heedful rambling. Letting go is to rise and live.

I hope that you find these little drops useful now and again. Do check them out and please share snippets of your thoughts with us.

Thanks and blessed be.

Just be happy: We truly need to be deeply happy and Chanty’s short post says a lot.

Confined: I have no words to explain how much I always enjoy Michelle’s positively inspiring posts. This leaves me with a blooming thought of hope and inspiration. Now it’s time to really break away from those confining walls.

Tween God and me guide: When the Lord is sending you somewhere, sometimes it might take an ambush or placing you in a whale’s stomach like Jonah, but he will keep hammering on that message until you get the message.

As you get older, you become a classic and viewed with respect. It’s inevitable that we all go through this process (hopefully) and it’s a blessing to live long.

Let’s remain young at heart even when our body ages in other places:-)
