[Blog Event] The Great Book of Lists

Reblog. I love lists and I guess a lot of you do so as well. This might interest you 😊

Dear Friends,

I invite you to live an experience for the forth coming year : build your own Great Book of Lists.

Lists reflect your happiness, your hopes, your project, your inclinations, the person you were, the person you long to become.

At the end of the year, 52 lists will offer a unique capture of your year. Compiled together, they’ll composer your Great Book of Lists, a gold mine of information in which you’ll be able to dig later on.

It will contain, I hope, humour, love, surprises, silliness – maybe – and many treasures for sure.

Each Monday, I’ll post a new theme and you’ll have until Sunday to publish you post, with the #TGBOL hashtag and a ping back  to the post of the week you participate

I’ll publish a round up on Monday.

The comments section is all yours to suggest themes for the forthcoming lists.

Don’t…

Reading Drivel…personal

Consistent habits can become defined and after a while forms our characters.

Sometimes in these character mix we find certain habits picked up, which are not only unsavoury, but serve no meaningful purpose whatsoever.

I have my own fair share of habits that I am still trying to let go of, so that I can have room for more positive growth in my life.

Recently, one major challenge has been late night nibbles. Sometimes, I can go for weeks without doing so, then something goes off somewhere and I am back to a frantic bout of the nibbles. A big work in progress here.

However, one of such habits that I have been successful with, was my abrupt decision to stop reading books that I have no better words to describe them other than calling them licentious, x-rated pornography in literature, the only thing they lacked were depicting coloured pictures to match their words.

No, they were not good old fashioned romantic reads, nor what some would describe as soft porn, they were vile, page after page harsh content of lewdness and gross sex, which actually had the reverse effect of offensive for me and I was left wondering how someone could sit down to write a hundred and something pages of utter rubbish.

My curiosity was sated, my conscience was annoyed with me, no particularly worthy knowledge was gained from such dalliance on my part except some vibrant imaginations that were unfortunately painted on some part of my brain cells and it was not a regret to dump reading such drivel by the wayside.

I pencil the past readings down as research, but my money will not go to fund such further waste of my time.

Did You Know….

Quick Quirky Fact:

I must warn you that I like to learn new stuff and they might include silly things that make me roar in laughter.

The doctor who administered enemas to ancient Egyptian Pharaohs was called ‘the shepherd of the royal anus.’

What’s in a title, you may want to ask.

It’s always lovely to start the week and each day as much as we can with a smile and positive outlook. I find Leannenz Monday memes interesting.

Do have a fruitful and blessed week awesome people.

Smoking Grass…

tank

Gabe gazed with mixed emotions at the odd shaped object that sat on top of the mounted poles.

He felt admiration, irritation and also a sense of shame. He knew that his proud attitude would have cost them so much even though he hated to admit it.

He had derided Smoking Grass when the young Indian scout came up with the idea of constructing a reservoir from the tough hides of the dead Buffalo instead of allowing it to go to waste.

He had felt that it was highfalutin nonsense.

‘What did the young blade know?’

He could trust Smoking Grasses riding, hunting and tracking skills to a large extent, but that was as far as he was willing to go.

However, from the look of things, the young lad had proven him wrong, yet again.

The thick reservoir sat there proudly collecting the falling rain.

Finally, the rain had come just as the boy predicted.

They had not seen a drop of rain for the past seven hot months and the wells had gone bone dry.

The Talking Chair…Mundane Monday #2

Photrablogger says,

This is a challenge created to find beauty in almost everything. The challenge is simple : find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs.

As I took my walk this morning, there was something about the chair that I found inviting.

The chair said to my lazy bum, ‘won’t you stop, have a seat and let’s chatter a bit’, but I settled for a photo shot, said goodbye and shuffled along.

Magic Cake

Reblog. Have a slice of Magic cake.

Kat Myrman's avatarlike mercury colliding...

I’ve been wanting to try this recipe for a while now. Of course the name is most intriguing. Magic. Anything MAGIC has to be good, right? So I assembled the ingredients and got to it.

You’re going to need:

4 Eggs / Separated at Room Temp
3/4 cup of Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
1 Stick or 1/2 cup of Butter / Melted
3/4 Cup of All Purpose Flour
2 Cups of Lukewarm Milk
Powdered Sugar for Dusting the Cooled Cake

8×8 inch baking pan (I only had a 9×9 inch pan, which made the cake height less than optimal for the cool layered affect, but it was still DELICIOUS!)
Mixer
Spatula
Several bowls for ingredients

Preheat the oven to 325 F degrees and grease the baking dish.

Start off by whipping the egg whites until they were stiff, and then set them aside. Next beat the egg yolks and sugar until light…
