Midnight Motivations and Musings 65…

1461003426713[1]

At times, out of fear of the unknown, we hold ourselves hostage as we hold on far too long to things that have ceased to work.

Those relationships that leave us ill instead of enriching our lives, no satisfaction from jobs that drain us while on the highway to nowhere, a lifestyle that has gone bankrupt and done more harm than good…there are so many crooked lines.

For as long as we hold onto those crooked lines, we don’t free our hands to draw and hold on to better ones.

It’s not always that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. A bird in hand might peck your hands bloody and finish your seeds, yet it’s neither singing nor hatching meaningful stuff.

Sometimes, not holding a bird for a while might be a better deal. It opens your mind to think on how to go after the two in the bush.

Shattered Glass….

They created illusion for themselves

Living out their fake lives

Even as the noose tightened

With each passing day

He, in his fast car

And skimmed funds

He ran from the drug Lords

They are fast on his tail.

—–

She lived hers in the bottle of illusion

Where all was illuminated through her languid gaze

Fake, starry aura induced

From needle pricks

That zig-zagged

Through her veins

Until the glass fell

And shattered in the cold silence.

Tales By Moonlight…

I like this week’s Haiku prompt ‘ Sun & Moon,’ from Ronovan. What do you think?

Hair like silk spun gold

She had him enthralled with her looks

Singing under the glowing moonlight.

*****

Limpid pools of her eyes

Beckoned to him like the mysterious moon

Twinkling like glints of sun rays.

*****

He bought her precious jewels

That shone bright like the golden Sun

And proposed beneath the moonbeams.

Tuesdays Trickles…My Thinking Corner # 18

Every Tuesday, I share snippets of thoughts that I call ‘My Thinking Corner.’

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple.

Each Tuesday, share your very short snippets of positive, inspiring, motivating, health, spiritual, writing advice, clips, posts etc, that can serve as a prop to motivate others and simply add my link to your post.

I call it my thinking corner because, I actually take out a bit of time just to think through things, encapsulate my thoughts as much as possible and detoxify my mind. It helps give me clarity of vision and might help you too.

It might work for you in a different way, but the idea is to get the positive thoughts flowing.

Please send in your little thoughts. You never know whose life you might inspire.

  • Rome was built, burnt down and rebuilt. Great things you seek to achieve, sometimes fall apart before the rise again.
  • When you let yourself go, always remember where you did so, that way you can pick yourself up again.
  • If we fail to learn from past mistakes, our lives become an epistle of errors.
  • If you go to sleep with Mr. bad mood, you wake up with the wrong companions.
  • None has a perfect life, nor perfect days, but we can take some of our moments and make them sublime.

Thoughts for this week came in from:

Dollops of heedful ramblings – Determination How determined are you to succeed? What steps do you take in your process? Do you stand by your decisions? Ask yourself

Annette’s place Annette shares million dollar worth quotes and they resonate very well with me.

For some reason, this week I haven’t received any pingbacks from people. I guess there’s still pingback issue. It’s all good.

Regards,

Jacqueline

Midnight Motivations and Musings # 64

1460912819279

When you are committed to doing something, you wait for no one, especially when it’s something that you are meant to do by yourself and for your well being.

Don’t sit waiting for love or life to find you. Go out and get the life and the love will follow.

Sometimes, in order to move on, we need to cease waiting and get going.

Forty….

Forty! It’s Sheila’s birthday and she’s not particularly enthused. Her thoughts were adrift and disjointed. She had no desire for a big do and wanted to spend the day quietly.

Her introspection made her sad. Her thought was that every line should have fallen into place in her life by now. Babies, her own successful interior decor business, and all the works.

Rather, she’s still stuck in a job that went nowhere. A succession of miscarriages dogged her marriage that it seemed her own baby was not in the books. Ray was distracted; working harder and coming home late.

Queasy stomach emptied of its content, she sat on the toilet lid and stared at the stick. Positive. Her heart jumped in excitement. Could it really be? However, she decided to keep the news to herself in the meantime.

Ray came home later with a gorgeous haute couture gown and silver sandals. He insisted on taking her for a dinner after helping with the zipper of her dress and the buckle of her sandals.

He had organised a surprise party with their close friends in a newly outfitted interior decor store meant for his wife.
