With blue painted eyes hid behind the mask
She certainly looked mysterious
Waving her fan of fine damask
She became quite flirtatious
Her flimsy dress a dash too frivolous
It showed far too much heaving bosom
It caused many gents, to become unscrupulous
As they attempted to peek at the blossoms.

It’s already weekend this way
And a Spring break weekend too!
I tell ya, it feels good 🙂
Now let me grab me some munchies.
Have a great weekend y’all.
I know it’s not weekend yet, but I am thankful that we are halfway there, or as in my case, almost a day to weekend and the school Spring breaks commences on Friday. YAYYYYY!!!
Our weekend’s over here in the Middle East starts on Thursday evenings and sometimes, it makes my mind go wonky, when the work week starts on Sunday’s and other parts of the World are still on a weekend.
It’s been one of those weeks that’s just bleh; waking up at past 4 am and making the children’s breakfast and food for school with one eye open.
I know that being a mother, weekend does not necessarily spell idling, but some things are taken out of the hectic equation.
My mouth will probably get twisted seven ways from talking, settling squabbles and I will probably pull my hair out now and again, for these days that squad will be fully at home, adrenaline filled and looking up to Mama the squad entertainer extraordinaire to keep them focused and entertained.
I shall however, thoroughly enjoy not having the infernal red alarm clock go off, just when I am getting into the zen part of the sleep; at least for the next two weeks. It even rings in my head when I am awake
On the other hand, I am equally thankful for a lovely blogger’s bash held in this space. The supportive turn out was just awesome 🙂
I am equally excited that the cover of my collected poetry will soon be ready. There’ll definitely be a sneak peek.
What are the itty-bitty things that your heart knows thanks for?
Do share if you will. Thank you.

Mama, are you saying thatÂ
I really have to take a shower
Before I get to play?
The pair of words: ‘Shower and Play’  Ronovan gave us for this week brought a smile to my face.
It reminds me of certain conversation that goes on in my household between me and my youngest.
With sweet wide eyes  looking at me full of expectations that he will get a pass.

It’s been cold
And musty too
A little tiresome
But Spring’s about here
There’s a Deejay in the house
Lot’s of food to feed the crowd
Intelligent folks all around
Let’s stomp a bit of the ground
Happening live Tomorrow Saturday to Sunday
A Brunch hop to Spring
Please do come around
You are free to laugh loud
And crack silly jokes
You can bring someone with you
The more the merrier.

Agnes enjoyed the priceless looks on their faces and the gaping mouth as the stared at the rock on her finger.
She had landed herself a Duke. With her controversial intelligent brains as well.
It turned out that The Duke liked a lady who challenged his intelligence and even dared to ride hell for leather.
He wanted no milk and prim miss.
He wanted a zesty, buxom, eyes filled with fire miss, who would keep him well engaged and bear him many sons with her broad hips.
He is quite taken with Agnes and not Anastasia like everyone one expected.
Anastasia the pretty. Anastasia the prim and flowery. Anastasia the proper…
Bah! His Lordship thought. He would be bored between and betwixt. Her limpid eyes held no fire.
Stop shilly-shallying, Agnes mama had said.
Quit all your rambunctious ways, she nagged.
Or you’ll be left on the shelf, she warned.
No man wants a forward miss that rides bareback like a hellion, she intoned.
You my girl will end up an old miss, she shook her head in dismay.
But Agnes love for life beckoned far more than mama’s scolds.
And her love for life led her to the Duke, when her daring ventures caught his gleaming eyes and the good thing is that she fancies him too.

Today’s theme makes me thank Photo 101 for giving me the purpose to share some of the numerous collections of light pictures that I have taken.
My dear Himself has had to learn lessons in patience when we go out, because I will ooh and aah over this and that, pointing and clicking away with contentment.
Dubai is a trail blazer and a light bulb of a city. They’ve got the lights going in so many ramifications especially at those high end stores, that the twinkle of the lights beckons to us like moths and we are attracted.
It’s as if the luminescent of the  bulbs whisper to you to step in and part with some money. The trick is to leave your credit cards at home and take pocket change just in case 😉
Imagine how life must have been in the dark ages before electricity Candles were meant only for the wealthy back then and cost a fortune. For some reason this brings a quote to my mind which says that ‘putting off someone’s candle, will not make yours to shine brighter.’
Even an ogre can look like a prince in the hazy gaze of a dim lantern, but just make sure you get a good look at him in the brightness of broad daylight 😉
Thankfully, the days of our live’s which revolves around light of the day and darkness of the night are made sweeter under the glow of a bright bulb.
