Rononvan's Weekly Haiku Challenge

Hip,hip,hurray…Ronovan writes weekly haiku challenge.

An apt prompt for this week ‘birth and cheer.’ It was Ronovan’s birthday yesterday, though because of the time difference between US and UAE, I don’t get to see the prompt until the following day because we are ahead by at least 9 hours or more depending on which state, so I’ll still say ‘Happy birthday, to you Ronovan.’

I also celebrate with a dear friend of mine who has tried for going on 17 years now to have a child. At long last they are blessed with two beautiful boys on Sunday 🙂

Let’s pop a bottle of fizzy drink,
to wish some birthday cheers
to Ronovan, our own charming Haiku General.

To the cheer of her loved ones,
she gave birth to twins
after seventeen years of waiting and wanting.

A problem can actually become a blessing if we are wise enough to use them to grow stronger.

Wisdom that will bear fruits should never be cast on loose soil that’s lost its fertility.

The thought above came to me when I reflected on the fact that what we are reaping in today’s World, are all the seeds that were sown in the past and as we continue to cast our seeds, may we choose our soil wisely, otherwise we will never have any worthwhile harvest.

Below are more snippets of wisdom from awesome bloggers. Take a moment to read.

Today’s nuggets: great quotes to guide daily living from Stella’s post.

A bouquet for your thoughts: Vaayadi offers us a  delightful bouquet and thoughts to make you smile.

15 beautiful thoughts about her: Dehan’s words gets me revving with confidence. You won’t come away empty-handed.

Lessons from a Rose: a beautiful lesson that we all need to learn, relearn and keep learning each day. Thank you, Laura for your words.

I hope that you find these little drops useful now and again. Do check them out and please share snippets of your thoughts with us.

Thanks and blessed be.

Everyday People

Trust me, my darling…Every day beautiful people # 71

“Relationships is certainly more than holding hands, more than going on dates, kissing and sex. It’s about accepting your partner’s flaws, warts and all and seeing the perfection in an imperfect person. It’s all about finding happiness with each other and being yourself.” Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha

Okay, so the imagination might be mine, but I like to imagine what people are saying as I enjoy watching them, so from the gentleman’s earnest gestures, I read:

“Trust me, darling, I’m yours to keep.”

Yeah, yeah, I’m a die-hard romantic, but where would we be without a bit of romance in our hearts? 😉

Midnight Motivation and Musings 101

1466257105904[1]

In ten days, we will be out of the month of June.

The first-half of the year would be done with and we’ll be sliding into the second half.

How have you been holding up with all the plans you set out for this year?

Have you taken the time to take stock and see where you are at?

There’s still a lot of time to get rolling with all those promises you made to yourself  for this year.

Earlier in the year, I published a post ‘why our resolutions are so last season,’ and it might be worth a quick peek.

All the best as you push along. Let me speak a bit of French here:

Petit à petit, l’oiseau fait son nid. Bit by bit, the bird builds it’s nest.

The key word is to get building 🙂

Blessed be.

Fiction · Short Stories

Intrusion…

Something was wrong, but Cybil’s mind felt as if a fine-tooth comb had scraped over it.

This was her fifth night on Koala Island, attending the annual conference on human science.

From the onset, something felt out of place with the serene surroundings. Her room always yet felt as if some presence shared the space with her.

She had searched the drawers to satisfy her thoughts that nothing was hiding in there, yet the discomfort stuck.

Now she was beginning to forget what she was saying in the midst of a sentence. It had been totally mortifying to forget her name during an introduction. Thankfully, the program would end in two days.

Sinking into the soft mattress and staring up at the orb-like shaped ceiling with pupils, her focused gaze saw pin dots of lens rotating.

Rising for closer inspection, the orb opened noiselessly and two funny looking humanoids appeared with lightning speed before she could squeak.

Mesmerized, all she felt before sinking into inky oblivion was the touch of a cold object at the base of her neck.

Mundane Monday

Hydration…Mundane Monday

Mundane Monday challenge is created to find beauty in almost everything.

The challenge is simple : find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs.

Water[1]

I woke up this morning and the first thought I had on my mind was to drink some water.

That got me thinking a lot about water. An essential need of human life. Features in every ramification of our lives.

Have you noticed that when you are thirsty for water, no other drink can quench that thirst?

It also takes my mind to the fact where most of us take clean water to drink for granted, that there are places on Earth where people have to walk for miles to find clean water to drink.
