In God, you say you trust
as you quickly strap your guns,
the Bible in one holy hand
the smoking gun in the other
You are the truth keepers
with your mouthful of lies,
you pick verses that serve your purpose
your hypocrisy goes beyond the surface
The grandiose self-titled peacemaker
who steals and poisons others water,
you go where the land is rich
and live its people in misery
In God you say you trust
as you decimate nations of natives,
that God of yours is very testy
I doubt he’s the same as mine.

Whoa!! Preach Sister!! Yes it is like there are two different gods. Theirs the god that maimed, murder and stole the Native Americans lands, kidnapped Africans for slavery, instituted Jim Crow and Apartheid, colonized and ruined native populations and/or nations worldwide. Their god who condones lynching and the right to have automatic weapons which have made America #1 in mass murders but their god believes health care is a privilege and not a right.
Really makes you wonder about people who call themselves Christians. Thanks for these hard hitting words.

I just can’t! The hypocrisy stinks. I am sick of these twisted so-called Christians.

“We must cease striving and trust God to provide what He thinks is best and in whatever time He chooses to make it available. But this kind of trusting doesn’t come naturally. It’s a spiritual crisis of the will in which we must choose to exercise faith.”

Wisely spoken Mihrank. I think we’ve lost the map somewhere and our Trust in God is nowhere to be found anymore.

You nailed it, J. He’s not my God either.

Powerful poem, Jacqueline! I’m American and identify as a Christian, but I strongly relate to your message; I must believe in a very different God than these people. Well said!
