So many latent talents lies in each and every one of us, so it always surprises me when someone says that they don’t have any talents.

That is an absolute lie. Every human was created equipped with a store house of dormant talents waiting to be tapped.

Some are out-rightly glaring in the face of the bearer and everybody around them, while some talents have to be discovered, developed and honed to bring out it’s optimum potential.

The more an iron is rubbed on a grinding stone, the sharper it becomes. When these potentials are not explored, the natural tendency is that it well remain stunted and never mature to any fruitful stage.

Some are simply too lazy to want to bother taking the time to think and find out that thing that really makes their heart sing.

In some cases, some move with whatever seems to be in vogue at that point in time.

Just because everybody else is doing it does not make it fit or right for you.

At the end of the day, when the movement becomes directionless and like driftwood, frustration sets in, time passes by and they wonder what happened to their lives.

It’s never too late to find and enjoy the talents that have been poured into you. Age notwithstanding.

It’s only too late when life is gone and the grave yard becomes the depository of potentials which have been allowed to go to waste.

  5. Lovely. Reminds me of a friend of mine named Steve Rutter. Throughout his school years people wrote him off due to him not being very academic. Then one day he randomly discovered he was amazing at line dancing. Now there’s loads of videos on Youtube of dances that he choreographed, he’s married to a fellow dancer and he’s just won an international award for line dancing. It’s never too late to discover a new talent. 🙂

  7. So true. We all have that thing that makes us unique, but sometimes we need to discover and horn them and that’s what makes the difference in our achievements because some think they don’t have any.

  10. There is a saying something about hoping you die with every drop of talent you have used up! I think that is very applicable to what you are saying. We have talents and need to use them to the best of our abilities 🙂

  11. Astute observation! This world would be so much more interesting if everyone were working at their full potential! I always enjoy the perfect sense, and knwledgeable approach to any paricular topic…

  12. I remember an English teacher in high school who told us of a poet that didn’t write a word until late in life (I don’t remember the age.) He bit into a cookie and wrote pages from the memories that came flooding in from that one bite. I don’t remember with poet, but the story always stuck with me!

  13. I remember longing for talent, thinking I had been skipped when God was dispersing talent to everyone. I had to realize that gifts and talent come in many forms!
