Let me introduce you to my New Blogger Friend Jenita.

I enjoy the connections and interactions that I make here in the blogosphere. Each day it I literally meet a new person and today, I share a brief introduction/interview with  a new blogger friend of mine, Jenita.

Thank, you Jenita for talking to us about yourself on such a short notice and I believe you’ll do well in blogdom 🙂

A big thank you

Hello, everyone!  I’m Jenita. I am a fairly new Blogger on WordPress. It’s been about 5 months since I started my Blog.  I am also a children’s book author.Jenita 1

I love to write short stories & poetry.

My Blog, https://huntsclubhouse.wordpress.com/ is an extension of my main website, http://huntsclubhouse.com/ that was inspired & created for children; per I’ve worked several years caring for them as a Professional Nanny.       I love to find the beauty in things.  I enjoy decorating, and I LOVE to laugh!  I love hanging out and having fun with family and friends, per it’s always a blast. I am also sort of a neat freak (slightly OCD, lol)  I do not like disorganized spaces or over-crowded rooms!

I created my Blog to cater to more adults & parents…as well as a platform to introduce my two children’s books, “Beautiful Boy” & “Beautiful Girl”.   In addition, during this process, to my surprise, I have found myself further developing my writing with newly inspired poetry and articles, about life and other inspirational topics, I didn’t even initially plan to share. This has definitely been a growing experience.  I am also simply blown away by the numerous talent I have discovered on various blog sites…including yours, Jacqueline. It is absolutely amazing!  There is such a plethora of topics & areas to be inspired by, or educated about, across the web.  It’s truly an open buffet of content.

I think I‘d probably be considered an average blogger.  I still have a lot to learn.  I realize others may have obtained more followers or higher stats in a shorter amount of time, but ultimately, I just want people to enjoy what I write…& the more people that are aware of my content, the more can be impacted.  Here are a few of my Favorite Blog posts….

https://huntsclubhouse.wordpress.com/2016/08/03/beautifully-flawed/

https://huntsclubhouse.wordpress.com/2016/07/08/just-breathe/

https://huntsclubhouse.wordpress.com/2016/07/14/becoming-diamonds/

In between my day-to-day caring for children, I LOVE to admire the beauty of nature, going out to great restaurants, & having fun with family.

One of my goals is to continue to gain more exposure for my two children’s books, which are available on Amazon http://amzn.to/24NhCzI

I would also love to write for a larger platform to increase exposure for my writing in general, as well as for my Blog.  My desire is to reach as many people as possible to hopefully inspire & motivate. If someone can be touched & inspired by my content, perhaps it will spread & motivate them to inspire others as well.

Stock Photo: I can’t count how many times I’ve had this tussle in my mind, most especially when those cows look at me with such pitiful eye’s and sometimes I spy disdain in their looks 😉

You composed me: there are articles you read and you are simply left feeling satisfied.

The post office box: this short, flash fiction is so tightly woven. The spare words say so much and leave me hungry to know more.

Times change. A little post to make you smile.

In need of a friend: what a heartwarming testimony and tribute. Sometimes, when we least expect it and even when we resist it, love creeps up on us and clings with all it has to give. I enjoyed reading this 🙂

Fountains: there’s something soothing about fountains or even listening to running water.

The brave but silent: silence carries strength and wields a swift blow that words can’t achieve. A short, tight and interesting read.

Woman of worth: an uplifting and well written post of self value. We should teach the younger generation this so that they come to a place of realization early enough.

The back of a postage stamp: a delightful poem from Oneta that sets me thinking. What will the younger one’s write as their memories of the postage stamp? Do they even know what a stamp is :/

Close to your heart: beautiful poem filled with age old wisdom from Joan.

The Warlord: sometimes, the price paid for being a hero is far reaching beyond the naked eyes of those ululating.

Perfect: Hmm! This set me thinking indeed. I hope that I’m not this type of parent who wants to love the children the way they are if only they are perfect. That must be tough to be perfect.

Writer's Quote Wednesday

A lifetime of adventure…Writers quote challenge

The cover of a book
is a door through a nook
that leads me down adventurous paths
where I’ve never been before.

The last book I read
had many tales to tell
of a maiden who sought adventure
and found true love’s treasure

She was a lass from Singapore
who wanted something more
she desired more of life’s pleasure
and set off on an adventure

She arrived in Dallas
where she met a bloke with class
a cool cowboy with a banjo
who twirled her in a tango.

Our prompt for this week’s Writers Quote Wednesday’s challenge is ‘adventure,’ a word that is synonymous to something exciting.

However, my question is does adventure have to be only when we set off on something grand to escape the ordinary?

If that’s the case then the greater part of our lifetime is lost when we fail to collect our little moments and turn our otherwise mundane life into an adventure of finding deep pleasure in the simple things.

Into the gray: When I read short stories like this, I make a mental note for self and parenting. A great start of a story that seems to be ticking with details. Let’s see where this goes.

The tempest: An interesting cliff hanger and the face of humanity.

Two Wolves: Which wolf are you going to feed? A chockful of wisdom caught in this short post.

Monday motivation: We all need a shot of motivation each day and sometimes most especially on Mondays.

Unveiled – new cover image: I think it’s very cool and vibrant. Please take a look and let Mel know what you think. Thank you 🙂

Out of the silent breath

Stream of Consciousness Saturday.

Book me down!…Stream of consciousness Saturday.

Book writing, book reading, book store’s, bookshelves, bookworms, book-keeping a lot about my life these days revolves around books.SoCS badge 2015

Reading a book takes me on an adventure where I journey with the writer through apertures unknown, on exhilarating trips of thoughts, experience, and wonder.

I love books. It’s an easy way to melt my stress and when anything else gets on my nerves I can bury my nose in a book and come out feeling better.

I have been craving a specific type of bookshelf, but because my living in the UAE is possibly transitory, I find myself reluctant to get on with the idea of investing funds and energy into having that personalised bookshelf only to get up and have to leave it here a couple of years down the line. Moving books or bookshelves as you migrate is not an easy feat.

I know how I felt about my books back in Houston. I felt as if I was giving away my good friends but the good thing is that donating the books to an old people’s home and the library made me feel better and happy.

Two of my young ones are turning into bookworms, it’s as if they are chewing through them so fast that I have to keep buying more books each month. I remember myself at their age. I read voraciously as well and we had a mobile library that catered to my passion and made life easier.

Going to the libraries over here takes planning because it’s not close by, unlike back in Houston where our home was five minutes away from the huge Lones Star library in Cypress. That’s a haven of books!

Well, right now, I’m trying to trick my mind to focus on writing my second book which I have been working on in jerks and stops. It’s all about books. Can’t get it off my mind.

The title I used for this post ‘book me down ‘ is a popular Lagosian phrase that we use to indicate our interest or availability for something. I wonder where else they use that?

Thank you, Linda, for giving me permission to:

Beat about the books

I’m going to use every trick in the book

to get my hands to keep still and write my books

‘cos writing a book

is definitely different from cooking the books.

To be a bookworm

is borrowing a leaf

from an open book

now let’s sing from the same hymnbook

as long as you don’t throw the book at me 🙂

P.S. Just feeling silly. After all, it’s Saturday folks

Fear, procrastination paralyzed: Afraid, yes, but do it! Yes you can. A short and great advice.

The Sad saga of the beak-less, tail-less, gizzard-bobbing, one-leg hopping Chicken: A humourous farm tale. Good read for a good chuckle.

Why our teens have lost faith in us: A MUST-READ for every parent. My comments to the post says:

Say it aloud! Well done ma’am. As a parent this is really a bothersome phenomenon. The rate is too high and says something unsavoury for the society. I don’t buy the idea of putting all that pressure on my children. I encourage them to be and do their best in whatever they are doing and I discourage blind competition or comparison with other people’s children. It only breeds bitter sentiments. Well said.

The embodiment of stories: The power of expression in the written word and the power of oratory belongs to man. Stories are the building blocks of our society and no matter how long man lives and the advent of all things technological, the art of writing is not in a hurry to die. This is my opinion on this well enunciated article.

Save the daughters: “When you raise a female, you raise a village, a town, a city, a Nation.” How can a wounded bird fly? These are questions and thoughts that go through my head when I read such articles and wonder why the female sex are constant recipients of abuse?

The absent parent: Raising children by both parents is not easy by any means, but raising children as a single parent is another dimension altogether. Sometimes, these are not choices made deliberately but circumstantial choices.

Silly love story:  Love can be truly silly at times. Our heart wants what it wants despite so many odds.

Together forever in comfortable separation: How much space or separation do we need in as married couples?

Distance: There’s something fascinating about the train and the train tracks.

Turnaround: Not a situation any parent would love to find themselves in. Amunala’s story depicts the possible nightmare of many…

Letters of opportunity: A simple but great idea to work it, especially those who need some sort of motivation. I like this.

Monkey/chuen spiritual quickening: In Debra’s words quoted below:

Monkey is known to the Maya as the Weaver or Weaver of Time.

We are asked to look beyond the world’s definition of our worth and meaning. Everything in the world would tell us we are powerless – helpless to change the world. Monkey encourages us to believe in our own magic.

I find her articles fascinating. Take a look.

Rumors and gossips: A strong poem that depicts the loss and waste of a mind that idles. A goldmine gone down the drain!
