I am much more than I give myself credit for. I am a masterpiece of a fabulous whole. I’m a chosen treasure. Jacqueline
Many people struggle with appreciating who they are because they feel that ‘they are not good enough.’ Many find it difficult to make open affirmative declarations about themselves and as a matter of observation, a whole lot of people feel embarrassed to do so because it would be classified as being immodest and vanity. Self-love is the first form of love and keeping your sanity.
The truth is that you are short-changing yourself by not accepting in totally all that you are and meant to be. You are doing no one anyone favours by belittling yourself, but actually doing yourself a whole lot of disservice.
I love these quotes from yesterday:
Bernadette: ‘A daughter needs a dad to be the standard against which she will judge all men.’
Mandibelle16: “Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
― Martin Luther King Jr., A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and SpeechesYou can’t beat this quote with many, the quintessential speech of with the hope of a modern multicultural America, by Dr. King, encouraging people to rid the U.S of racism against African-Americans. Also, I think he speaks to us no w other cultlural divides and moments of discrimination and prejudice in any society or culture. Darkness and hate will only amplify these evils but love and light is a way forward through benevolence. He speaks to everyone in the twentieth and in the Twenty-first century, to overcoming racial inequality and the judgement of others. To love despite certain predispositions to spout hate.

Who is my enemy?
I ask myself;
If I called someone else,
it’s an error in judgement.
With deeper introspection,
it’s a hard truth
that my biggest enemy
has always been me.
I need to fall
boldy in love again
reclaiming my authentic self
with no holds barred.

Excellent Quotes From Yesterday:
From Raili at Soul Gifts: Here’s my quote for today. I let Louis Hay’s book of affirmations fall open and this is what I got – “I allow love to flow freely. My supply of love is endless.”
From E Leukhardtblog “Life is a roller-coaster. There are ups, there are downs. But you always end up relieved and smiling. Hold on to the safety rail so you can always be smiling. “
From Mandibelle: “Love her but leave her wild” – by Atticus. This one has stuck with me awhile, and when I thought about it I concluded that to be loved but yet “wild” to be our natural self, and not have to be “tamed” or trapped by another, is a good goal in relationships and friendships. Choosing to be tamed by someone you love such as the fox in ‘the little prince,’ is one thing. But having a choice and even finding that within being tamed, you can still be wild and not have to hide your true self is important. To be loved for your wildness — your flaws and your good qualities is the best kind of love. It’s a love that doesn’t control each other or defines each other in a narrow box but allows each person to grow and be themselves within relationships, It forgives and doesn’t try to make someone be who they are not. It’s loving without a need to dictate one’s lover or friend’s behaviour and choices.
From Susieshy45: You are your own best friend- is my quote for today. You know what is best for you. While others are good in the physical sense, no human being can be 100% for you as you yourself.
and a couple of my lovely friends on Facebook joined in:
From Marcellina Oparaoji: Here’s is mine. I so believe in this:
“I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition.” ― Martha Washington

you say that you love me,
i doubt it
‘cos your heart
is so barren
that nothing fruitful
but hate grows in there
you say that you love me,
i wonder how
‘cos you treat yourself
with such self-hatred;
and no one can find love
where hate inhabits

Our mirrors are not just to see the reflections of our physical self, but to remind us that we are more than our looks.
Loving yourself is the best gift that you can give to yourself.
Finding happiness, fulfillment, success and the best version of you comes with the understanding that unconditional self-love is a critical determinant to achieving these things.

Every inch of love that you have for others stems from the love that you have for yourself.
These are the words floating through my head of late.
Sometimes our strength flags a bit and we just need to exhale to get back those thoughts properly aligned. We shouldn’t feel guilty for taking the time to unplug; special note to workaholics like me.
Rest and recuperation are all part of being productive and taking care of oneself, though in the highly driven World of today, some of us tend to overreach and treat ourselves unkindly for cutting a slack.
When you unplug and rewind, you bounce back a whole lot better. When we walk ourselves into a state of guilt for showing ourselves some love, we not only create room for diminished returns but a lot of negative emotions begin to seep in.
Blessed be.
