These are the words floating through my head of late.
Sometimes our strength flags a bit and we just need to exhale to get back those thoughts properly aligned. We shouldn’t feel guilty for taking the time to unplug; special note to workaholics like me.
Rest and recuperation are all part of being productive and taking care of oneself, though in the highly driven World of today, some of us tend to overreach and treat ourselves unkindly for cutting a slack.
When you unplug and rewind, you bounce back a whole lot better. When we walk ourselves into a state of guilt for showing ourselves some love, we not only create room for diminished returns but a lot of negative emotions begin to seep in.
Blessed be.
Below is my first just published Poetry Book “Out of the silent breath” which is available on Amazon and Smashwords.
When you buy my book, you support me in an invaluable manner.
From the very first poem, “Dreams,” this book captivates with passionate and perceptive words. Jacqueline Oby-Ikocha captures a broad expanse of the human experience in this book of richly layered poems.
Oh boy, that quote is perfect reading for me today!

Jackie, this really spoke to me this morning. I am off to have two rather obnoxious teeth removed today. While I was looking forward to the relief after, I have been very anxious as it is not my normal dentist. He referred me to someone he thinks is better suited because one tooth broke at the gum line. Thank you for your words.

I stumbled on your blog when I saw your response to a comment I’d made on Annetties blog about her good night spell not working for me . I’m glad I found your magic words- especially this post on how to stand back and take a deep breath so that the answers come to you. Sometimes it seems difficult to stop and stare especially when you are on a treadmill of jobs that are multiplying faster than you can finish them!

It got me thinking.I also feel that rest is important but at the end of the day some of us have so much to do that we do not find enough time to rest

True talk, but we must try to find that time.

I needed to see this message.
The last few weeks, I’ve been driving myself too hard and not getting enough rest, the funny part is that the more stressed the body becomes the easier it becomes to allocate tasks to Mr. Procrastination. 😀
Indeed, you unplug and rewind, you bounce back a whole lot better.
PS: I just shut my eyes and saw one word flashing- “VACATION” Lol

Nne, you are so correct o. The more stressed the less we actually achieve. Unplugging is highly important.
