Listen.
even the water
whispers your name
Pause.
thoughts of you
haunt my moments
Inhale.
you’re the legend
of my soul

What’s your opinion? Are people better off staying single and unmarried? Is marriage too much of a hassle?
You learn something new every day. I must admit I didn’t know what Samhain meant before now.
You’ve done the excuse thing all through the year and now you’ve got the perfect excuse called Winter. No more excuses.

Dark secrets you buried,
light unearthed it;
skeletons in your closet
refuse to stay forgotten,
they rise, they rattle;
their whispers reach out
and sends chills
deep down
to
your marrow.

Oh my, this is absolutely delightful and tender. A life cycle covered in a heart-tugging, well written short prose. I totally love this Oneta
Have you read ’13 Reasons why?’ I haven’t. Consequent to reading Jamila’s post, I’m inspired to watch and read the book.
It’s important to treat others right. Treat them with kindness you would never know but it could save a life. Also, it’s important to be aware of our actions, aware of the words we are saying. It’s impossible to know what’s going on in someone’s life and how we might be adding to his/her pain.
These fabulous, timeless walkways will inspire you to go clicking your camera.
The struggle for human rights has literally gone on forever. Sometimes, it seems we are going backward.

Mama said to me, baby,
you can’t stand on the ground
and be pointing up at the ripe palm nuts,
You must be willing
to get your fingers stained with oil palm

it makes many hearts sigh,
they want her close by,

For Simone Biles

Mama said to me, baby,
grumbling from Jericho to Jerusalem
is never going to make your dough rise;
not when you’ve failed
to add much-needed yeast
and to give it the required kneading.

A lovely and inspiring post to kick-start your morning.
Maybe you don’t recognize it, but you have something within you that you like to do, that you’re good at, and that can be used in God’s kingdom! Remember the parable of the talents? Notice that nobody was left out! One talent was the minimum given to anyone!
Eugenia’s chatter is like taking a hearty broth with chuckles and history tossed into the mix. I totally, totally enjoy them. Read the witty poem.
Why jails and prisons shouldn’t be asylums
I can’t even begin to imagine the horrors that happen in privatized prisons. It just doesn’t bear thinking and it’s rather unfortunate when mentally ill patients are incarcerated, ignored and treated like criminals.
Poppies are a scattered to serve as a reminder ‘lest we forget, always and forever.’ This beautiful image and deep thought inducing quote might appear simple, yet it’s simplicity speaks volumes.

whatever we love
may be taken away from us
in a fierce way
at any moment in time,
but the loss of what we love
belongs to us
and its presence
can stay with us forever.
