This is my prompt for this week, have fun with your thoughts.

4-3

It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it. Lou Holtz

The load that life places on your shoulders

must be borne with a levity of heart and the strength of a boulder

for a back hunched in grumbling

only makes the load punishing

and your journey a lot more grueling.

We are continuing the same format here and that is: there are no rules to follow. Either make up your own sayings or use a quote from a famous author that you find gives you inspiration.

Each Thursday, we will post the prompt and all you have to do is participate!

On your own blog post do a pingback to this post and make sure to “like” or “comment” on everyone else’s post. A pingback is when you embed (or copy) the URL of my weekly prompt into your own blog post.

Make sure to check our weekly prompt to see if your entry is there. You can copy URL of your blog post and include it in the comments section of my original weekly prompt if that works better for you.

Copy the badge above and include it on your own post. Tag your post on your own blog as “The Writer’s Quote Challenge,” so we can find the posts in the reader.

We are still welcoming co-hosts.  Come and join in the fun.

An Ear of Corn…Writer’s Quote Challenge

“For the full ear of corn is the child of a mere kernel planted and watered with hope, even when the crows were watching.”  Jacqueline

Except we plant the seeds,

our baskets shall have no feed,

our homes will be empty of bread,

and our stomachs hungry in bed.

§

We have no idea how far a little idea that we have will go and except we are willing to sow our ideas despite possible obstacles, we’ll have no rewards to reap.

This is my contribution to Bernadette’s  quote for last Writers quote challenge prompt:

Today’s mighty oak is yesterday’s nut that held its ground – Rosa Parks

Amanpan.blog – ThusNSuch Eugenia has a lovely, crisp new blog where she shares light-hearted, thought-provoking poetry over a hot cup of coffee. Step in and say hello.

Loveuary I totally enjoyed reading Susie’s refreshing post on her 25-year-old marriage (arranged). What are your thoughts on arranged marriage? Are you all for the sizzle and dazzle relationship or the slow and simmer type? Share it in the comments.

People Doing Good Things Yes, we need to keep our eyes’ on the good ones as much as possible. It surely helps, especially with the turbulent times. Do you know anyone doing good things?

Honoring My Inner Voice: An insightful read. Here are my thoughts:

A purposeful and insightful post. I think that sometimes our humanness tends to go into overdrive and assumption that we’ve got it all wrapped up forgetting to listen to that quiet voice in us.

I also enjoyed your poem and the direction that it took.

A Bit A Day…

Image result for images of serenity

Tackling small tasks a bit a day

leads to greatness and it’s so okay

give your best in doing it well

at long last it’s results will tell.

This poetry is my contribution to Oneta’s quote for last Writers quote challenge prompt:

“I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble. Helen Keller

Interestingly, Helen Keller’s quote reminds me of a saying that my parents were fond of ‘anything worth doing is worth doing well.’

This principle ‘to give it my best,’ has stuck with me in the little and the big things and especially now as I wisen up each day. I may fail in my attempt, but I am certainly going to keep doing it until I get it right.

I find that chores that used to bore or irritate me in the past have ceased to be so because of my approach and positive attitude towards them.

I’ve been training my mind to see the beauty and the positive sides of even the most mundane task and the interesting thing is that my views and perspective keeps expanding by the day.

Even the weekly task of cleaning the house that I do with the kiddos, we turn up the music and jive to the beats while dusting and polishing and the chore just breezes by 🙂

Positive energy can make a lot of difference.

Double Take…

Row, row, row your boat
gently down the stream,
merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
life is but a dream.

Humming this childhood nursery rhymes made me think beyond the words of the rhyme in a way that I had never thought of.

Life is certainly a dream and your dream is what you make of it.

When you wake up to life, life will surely wake up to you.

Staring at that boat – called life, with your hands in your pocket won’t get it across the seashore; you’ve got to start to row the boat of your life diligently.

Grab your oars.

Fight Till Your Last Breath

If Blood is Showering Out of Your veins,
If the Lesions & wounds are Giving you Pain
And Even If Circumstances are Showing your Death,
In spite of that, Fight Till Your Last Breath.

No Matter If you are Sailing On a Tidal Ocean,
No Matter If conditions Prevailing give you Tension
And Even If There is No Time Left For you to Regret,
In spite of that, Fight Till Your Last Breath.

What Happen If Night Always Comes Before the Morning,
What Happens if Every second Intensity of Darkness is Increasing
And Even If, darkness is Giving Brightness a Terrible Threat,
In spite of that, Fight Till Your Last Breath.

What Happens If you feel yourself alone on this Land,
What Happens, If your Shadow Remains your Only Friend
And Even If, you are Deprived of Love From anybody as yet,
In spite of that, Fight Till Your Last Breath.

It is Blissful, If you come out as Victorious in the End,
But if all Your Efforts & Attempts Go into the Sand
Then You Need not to Strike your Head with a Stone,
Because Fighting Till Last Breath is a Victory on its Own.

Menace…

Image result for images of vultures

They showed up and stood in the shadows

holding their breath, filled with baleful hope.

Like ominous Vultures circling the cadaver,

they wait for you to crack,

watching eagerly for your downfall.

Do you fall

or

Do you fight?

The choice is always yours.

My Thinking Corner

My Message to You Today…

Single rose

Your love can neither be bought
nor can it be sold

Your love for yourself
is the root of your love for others

Learn to embrace your imperfections
and hug your genuineness

Love yourself fully as you are
because you are enough

Share the gift of who you are with others
from your full cup of love.

Happy Valentine
