Letters…

letter writing, handwriting, poetry

For many years
I sent you handwritten letters

but you always say
you never got them,

the postman must be having
a good time falling in love

reading my raunchy words
and asking for more.

Poetry/Poems

Flying Free – Written for a dear friend – Bernadette – who lost her beloved son.

Dear Bernadette thoughts of you and your family have been on my mind and I offer prayers for you to stay strong.

I can only imagine how deep your hurt and loss feels and I woke up this morning thinking of your son. I never knew him but through your words I did.

Remain blessed and comforted.

For Andrew – May perpetual light shine on you.

Thoughts of you infuse my heart
with bittersweet memories that leave me reeling
my silent tears seep through eyes
that beheld you through the years
my tongue yearns to tell you once more
that I love you again and again

Unspoken, my thoughts stretch
to ask the Heavens why?
I open my hands to hold the butterfly
briefly, he perched on the dandelion and now
I watch him soar into the skies
free to be, he goes beyond my eyes.

My love for you will never end
for you decorated our lives
in ways that words can’t explain
I know that you fly free and
twinkle as part of the stars.

comes great calm

How to be remembered from Pamela: It’s never an easy thinking to do. How we want to be remembered. I am thinking about mine. Yes, I know that it might be long, but thinking about what I want, means that I have to live up to it. What will your epitaph read? Here lies …

Dear World, bye Some posts leave you feeling so helpless and not knowing what to say and this post left me sad! I did say something though and this was my comment:

Such a sad and profound read. I hope that writing these pains out will help you find some peace within you and a bit of joy in the World. I have no idea what the enormity of your pain is, but I do know that when I was in such a dark place myself and though it wasn’t easy, I turned up my face to the light and clung. Peace be with you Maline.

Tween God and me car There are times when we just know things because our sixth sense of the Spirit tells us. It might sound incredulous to some people, but it happens every day when you open your mind and believe.

Defensive Sarn’s story ‘curse breaker’ arouses all manners of emotions in a reader. From annoyance, to wonder, to perplexed agitation, to intrigue and suspense…

A poem submitted by James Patmore.

A

If I was an arrow, what would I hit?
Would I kill the beast or fall short
Would the string be pulled to guide me straight?
Or would I break in the fall?

If I was a tree where would I stand?
My supports the ground, yet it’s all just sand
My roots grow down to try and keep
Me from falling, into the deep

If I was a song, would I be sung, If I was a story would I be read?
If I follow the line the world chose for me, would I be truly safe and free?
Or when I have my dying breath, would all I trust be for nought

On this earth, I now stand
My path I must choose
The guide I pick will either lead me home
Or torment me when I’m in the deep

If I was a rose, would I be proud
My colours glowing my petals open
Or would I whither and fade away
To join the litter on the ground.
If I was a cloud,
where would I go
would I cause rain, cause the snow
Or in the pushing winds float far away
Until at last I fade

By myself I am weak,
I have no strength inside of me
Its strength in the Lord keeps me going
He’s my bowman, he’s my roots
If I was a rose, I’d chose to open
Displaying his colours for the world to see.

Getting Stuck…Ronovan’s weekly poetry haiku challenge.

Ronovan’s  Haiku prompt for this week ‘lift and plan’ gave me a lot of options, but I settled for these two. I enjoyed playing around with both words.

She got stuck in the creaky lift

The lights went off suddenly

That was simply not in the plan!

************

With no plan in place

and funds finished

She thumbed for a lift.
