The Daily Post

Easy Mornings…

I am a morning person, though there are some morning’s that have found me crawling out of my bed on the wrong side, all grumpy and Debby downer, but I always try to get a grip on my day before I sink into a miry bog of feeling down, ‘cos it’s so easy to spiral down faster than rising up.

I literally wake up with prayer on my mind and force of habit makes me peek out of the window first thing in the morning to see what the day looks like, then head to the bathroom to do the needful – blasting the bones awake under the shower has a way of perking up the spirit and I do this even when I know that I’m just going to take a brisk walk or lounge.

In easy steps, I enjoy music anytime of the day, but early in the mornings has a way of putting a bounce in my steps.

Echos Of My Neighbourhood

My week’s walkabout – Echoes of my neighbourhood 30.

On Thursday’s, I share pictures about ‘Echos of my Neighbourhood.

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple and you can find out more about it through this link.

After a busy last week, I took things to the slow lane this week though I still took lots of photos of ‘this and that’ in the course of the week.

Kirst shows us the singing, ringing tree and I must say it’s spectacular. I’ve never seen anything like that before and would love to hear it. Lady Lee loads of ripples of thankfulness and smiles are delightful 🙂 Take a peek, please.

So, when are you inviting us over to your neighbourhood?

Everyday People

Culture – Everyday beautiful people

“The beauty of our World lies in the diverse cultures and the diversity of people who walk the face of the Earth.” Jacqueline

“Strength lies in the differences, not in the similarities.” Stephen R. Covey

pretty lady

I love seeing people dressed in their rich native or cultural attires that depict their cultural heritage.

The beautiful lady’s outfit caught my eye from a distance and by the time I took the photo I observed that her clothing blended with the colour combination of her surroundings 😊

Today’s featured blogs posts are:

The running man: Can you do the running man dance? Maybe you’ll learn it today. Let me know how it goes 😉

The grass is always greener in the other decade: Some of our fantasy are best left that way. Do you remember your teenage crush and how he/she seemed like the best thing after ice-cream? This post took me down memory lane.

Finally, a bit of rest relaxation: There are times we need to loose the bindings and just chill. It does the body and soul good.

A most pleasant dirge: I must say this dirge does arouse several interesting thoughts.

Everyday People

Team building Works – Everyday people

“Unity is strength...when there’s teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved.” Mattie J.T. Stepanek

“Sometimes the most ordinary things can be made extraordinary simply by doing them with the right people.” Nicholas Sparks

Team_building[1]

I met these folks in the photo having a good time as a team. Their whoops and cheerful sounds drew my attention and like I had suspected a member confirmed that they were having their team building activities.

I have always believed in the power of togetherness because you can achieve so much more when you have others with you. An African adage says “when you want to go fast you go alone, but if you wish to go far, you go with others.”

We also say that “a boat will not go forward if each individual is rowing their own way.”

Delightful Toppings…

Cherries on top are pretty and metaphorically speaking, I certainly love lots of cherry on top moments in my life 🙂

Sunset

A day draws to a close with a gorgeous Sunset that always reminds me that every sun that sets also promises a new dawn and instils a warm sense of peace inside me. I remember my mother always saying that when you let the Sun go down on your sense of unrest you wake up carrying over residues of anger.

Love sculpture

Open up your heart and don’t close your mind. Let the cherries of other people’s love and care decorate your life.

Dessert

Oh! My sweet desserts! I love such sweet talk 😉

Cupcakes

Have a cupcake and a pleasant weekend 🙂

Glowing fountain

May the fountain of your life keep glowing with grace and cheerful light on top.

Echos Of My Neighbourhood

Underwater Zoo – Echoes of My Neighbourhood 28.

On Thursday’s, I share pictures about ‘Echos of my Neighbourhood.

I would like to invite you to participate. The challenge is quite simple and you can find out more about it through this link.

Part of my effort to balance Summer break with cheap fun stuff to do, academic exercises, cooking and so on is also to seek out occasional fun stuff that equally imparts some knowledge on the children, though they might cost a bit of money to achieve.

Our quest took us to the Underwater zoo located at The Dubai Mall. A worthwhile experience.

Pamela took us on a nature walk and we got some weekly smiles at Lady Lee’s corner. Louise’s was just at the right place to catch and take snapshots of Stalwart Chinook helicopters from the RAF airbase around her. I love such happenstances 🙂

So, when do we get to visit you? Now, don’t be shy and invite us over😉

I like Ronovan’s cheerful prompt ‘Sing & Flower,’ for this week. We really need as much cheer as possible.
