Lovely interior – A Click A Day.

Who says that you’ve got to be rich to love the beautiful things of life?

Nope! It’s not a prerequisite.

Richness can be fed through the eyes without spending a dime. I love browsing through shops (new and antique), appreciate the things that I see and stoke my imagination.

I stumbled upon this setting during my weekend photo hunting walkabout. The table is a bit crowdy, but the scented candles had a wonderful fragrance.

Enjoy feeding your eyes with the beautiful things of life.

Mundane Monday

Seeing Red – Mundane Monday.

Mundane Monday Challengee is created to find beauty in almost everything.

The challenge is simple. Find beauty in everyday mundane things, capture the beauty and upload the photographs.

I was taking a snapshot of the fire hydrant for my Mundane Monday when the cyclist came whizzing past and bombed my photo shoot 🙂

BLOOM in Your Season – A Click A Day.

I walked past these flowers two days ago,

I noticed the unfurling buds,

I took a photo and went on my way.

picsart_09-17-09-06-011

I walked past the same flowers yesterday,

I saw that they had bloomed prettily,

I took another photo and went on my way.

picsart_09-17-09-04-261

I went on my way with a thought about these simple blooms.

I recalled the phrase "bloom where you are planted."

It didn't matter how scorching the sun has been;

it didn't matter how dry the season is in the desert;

the plant didn't have to go to the Tropics to try and grow;

it stood where it was planted and brought forth its beauty!

What matters is that as long as you push the boundaries of comfort where you are,

In your time and in due season, you'll bloom wherever you are.

Shalom!

Hide and Seek, Here and Now…

 picsart_09-16-10-09-461
Here and now, as I sit on the parks bench soaking up the air,
watching the children play hide and seek with Griffin,
the darling old dog of a good neighbour.
Griffin is 14 years old, that’s really old in dog years;
he’s no longer fast and pants quite heavily,
but he still loves a good rub and enjoys playing hide and seek,
as he trudges slowly on his Cocker-Spaniel legs.

Here and now a bazillion thoughts race through my mind
like flitting fireflies, resting on this and floating to that,
I craft plans with paper and pen;
some thoughts etched in ink,
and some are left to the mind.
…make sandwich of tuna and eggs on a bed of lettuce,
…call mother and enjoy a good laugh with baby sister;
…go with the boys to get a haircut later,
…write a post to publish before I go (this is the post);
…tinker with a few widgets on my upcoming blog.

Here and now, I feel at ease yet restless…
I have learnt to live day by day and enjoy the moments,
though sometimes my imagination drifts beyond the present.
I try not to query the future for it’s not guaranteed to anyone.
I have learnt that all I truly have is here and now,
and I must make the best of it as much as I can.

Spice it up – A Click A Day.

I went to buy a bit of ground cinnamon and found myself buying a few curious blend of spices that I’ve never tried before.

I also bought some Chickpeas that I’ll use to prepare Hummus and I’ll share the recipe with you later 🙂

The Edges…

I love normal adventures

and not the perilous ventures

of living life on the edge.

Some enjoy walking on eggshells

or dangling at the edge of a precipice

I love to keep away from the ledge.

The Pink Door – A Click A Day.

The bright and shiny pink door beckoned to me to step inside. Of course, I had to satisfy my curiousity and took a peek.

Everything inside is pretty, shiny and smells good too and would possibly dent my account. I solidly resisted the whispered encouragements of the bottles of Arabian night perfumes and walked away with my plastic intact 😉

Urine Analysis. This is not a pissing contest.

PicsArt_09-06-08.21.08[1]

I saw this urine wall chart in a restroom and I’ve got my tongue in my cheek as I ask such a cheeky question; how is your piss?

One’s eyes may be the window to their soul, but the toilet bowl is certainly a window into your body.

The state of one’s piss (please bear with me and don’t laugh) has a lot to say about your health and let it not be said that you are piss poor. Here’s  an interesting article on the origin of the popular saying “piss poor.”

Hydrate some more today.

Eat Cake…

PicsArt_09-06-08.15.45[1]

I don’t like to make a cake of things
but, I so love to bake and eat cake
and possibly to have my cake and eat it too

I’m not as nutty as a fruitcake
but I so love nuts and helpings of fruitcake
with a smooth glass of Dubonnet

Life is not a piece of cake
but a slice of cake does make it sweeter
and delicious cakes finish so fast like hot cakes

Blueberry, cheese, chocolate, red velvet, vanilla cakes
you are free to name it all
I’m yet to meet a cake that didn’t like me.

Okay! I’m just being nutty 😉
