Micro-moments of life through my lens
The early morning Sun breaches the sky, cutting the blanket of last night as it heralds a new day.
Taking a walk at 6 a.m this morning and at 39 degrees I know that before 7.30 am The Sun will be blazing with such blinding intensity that will hit the upper 40’s before it’s mid-day.
As we simmer and stew in the heat, I am comforted with the thought that this season of infernal heat is just for a season of several months and that as each night comes, we’ll breathe in respite in the cooler darkness.
Now, she has been shorn of all her leaf, her bare branches stand bare like a dry ghoulish skeleton stripped of its fat.
A few months ago, she stood rich and burgeoning with greenery but cycling through life, this is the lean time, soon she will experience the new birth of more leafs.
We are they going? I have no idea, but they are certainly on their way.
Everything in life is in a transient state
As I patiently watched this one tip-toe gingerly up the tree bark feeling its way and possibly sniffing the air for any form of danger like birds and lizards, I am reminded that we all are insects flying in the winds of life.
Catching glinting jewels of early morning dew drops
that would disappear just as the sun rises
brings a smile and
a reminder that everything in life is transient.
That those simple things are extraordinary things,
like a tiny dew drop
being a microcosm of an entire ocean.

Dimly lit, the whisper of dusk
invites the night,
reminding me that
this day will never happen again.
What can we do without water? Every living thing would cease to exist.
The men are carrying barrels of bottled water, and the pigeons help themselves to the free fountain from the urn.
Each day a beautiful one is born
adding her colourful effervescence
to the medley of growing beauties.

It barely moved.
The creature is so little and totally blends in with its environment that it truly takes a discerning eye to pick out the seahorse clinging to the stump.
The colour green surrounds us everywhere we look, from the beautiful rich shrubs to my kitchen towel.
It’s a lively colour that speaks of freshness, life, nature, fertility, harmony, new beginnings, and healing.
It is also associated with money, finances, banking, ambition, greed, jealousy…take your pick from the list and go green.
The weather is lovely, the lush green surroundings invite inhabits to while away some time in the neighbourhood park.
Here’s my son running around the green grassy field. I remember the softness of the carpet grass ‘cos I went barefoot and the fresh smell of mown grass is in a world of its own.
Little potted plants in corners of the house spruce it up in a lovely, simple way.
